Beispiel I

The advantages of thermally stable modifications of disperse dyes are generally known. It is therefore preferred to convert the new dye of the formula I obtained after diazotization and coupling into the thermostable form and to use the dye preparations prepared from it. The dye is so excellent on hydrophobic materials, especially those made from linear, aromatic polyesters, cellulose 2 1/2 and cellulose triacetate, but also from synthetic polyamides, and gives brilliant, greenish-yellow colorations with excellent fastness properties.
In the following examples, the parts mean parts by weight, the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example I
Clutch under normal conditions
17.7 parts of benzyl p-aminobenzoate (100%) are dissolved in 70 parts of glacial acetic acid at 50, with 20 parts of conc.
Hydrochloric acid, 40 parts of ice and another 20 parts of conc. Hydrochloric acid added. At 4-6, 22 parts of a 4N sodium nitrite solution are then rapidly added to the fine crystal suspension.
The mixture is then stirred at 10-12 "for 10 minutes, then
cooled to 0-5 "with ice, freed from excess nitrite with amidosulfonic acid, filtered and used for coupling.
A solution of 16.2 parts of in-butyl-3-cyano-6-hydroxy-4-methylpyridone-2 in 200 parts of water at pH 5-7 and 5 is stirred with the mixture over the course of about 1 hour Diazo solution was added, the pH being maintained by adding sodium hydroxide solution and the temperature by adding ice. In the end there is a very small diazo excess. The mixture is stirred overnight, during which the suspension warms up to room temperature and the excess diazo disappears. The dye is obtained in very good yield and purity by filtering, washing out and drying (at 60 in a vacuum). It is in the unstable crystal form, the X-ray diffraction pattern of which differs significantly from that of the stable crystal form.
Example 2
Conversion to the thermostable crystal form
10 parts of the dye obtained according to Example 1, used in the form of the dried material or as a moist press cake, are mixed with water to give a thin paste. Then I part of a surfactant (e.g. sodium dinaphthylmethane disulfonic acid) is added and the mixture heated to 85-95 for 1 hour. After this
Filtration, washing and drying give the dye in the stable crystal modification with the lines characteristic of this shape in the X-ray diffraction diagram.
Instead of the isolated dye, the uncoupled dye suspension can also be subjected to the unfiltered heat treatment described above, the dye being converted into the stable form in a particularly economical manner.
No crystal transformation is achieved by treating the dry material (according to Example 1) for 16 hours at 100 ".
However, the desired crystal form is also obtained by redissolving the crude, dried dye (according to Example 1) from 4 times the amount of boiling methyl or ethyl glycol.
Example 3
The dye obtained in Example 2 and in the color-stable crystal form is ground by means of sand grinding in the presence of dispersants, e.g. Lignin sulfonates, and subsequent atomization into an ultradisperse dye preparation with an average particle size of 4 1 1 and a coupage ratio of 3:10.
10.0 parts of the ultradisperse dye preparation are dispersed with 1000 parts of water, and the circulating liquor (13,000 parts, containing 30 parts of ammonium sulfate and 0.3 part of formic acid as a buffer mixture) is added at 60. The pre-cleaned and pressed cheese (1000 parts PE yarn on a plastic sleeve) is then inserted, the dyeing autoclave closed and heated from 60 to 130 within 35 minutes. After 15 minutes at 130, the mixture is cooled to 80, the liquor drawn off is drained off and the colored bobbin is washed thoroughly with cold water. Then it is swung and dried in a drying cabinet.
You get a deep (2/1 standard depth), perfectly level, pure coloring of greenish-yellow shade, free of filtering, with excellent wet and rub fastness.
The dye liquor is practically colorless, the dyeing machine shows no deposits and can be used immediately for the next dyeing.
