PATENTANSPRÜCHE
Fig. 1 eine schematische Ansicht eines Dachschneefängers und

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A method for the surface coating of a roof snow catcher, which was punched out of a galvanized steel strip and bent and welded into the desired shape, characterized in that an epoxy resin layer is applied to the roof snow catcher thus produced.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the epoxy resin layer is applied electrolytically in powder form.
3. The method according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the epoxy resin layer is cured by heat in an oven.
The invention relates to a method for the surface coating of a roof snow catcher which has been punched out of a galvanized steel strip and bent and welded into the desired shape.
Snow catchers, which are designed to collect snow on building roofs, are punched out of steel strip that has been unwound from a steel strip roll. Such a steel strip was previously sendzimir-galvanized or galvanized. It can also be hot-dip galvanized after the snow catcher is finished. The piece punched out from such a hot-dip galvanized or sendzimir-galvanized steel strip is then bent and welded in order to obtain the shape of a snow catcher.
The snow catcher produced in this way is disadvantageous in that the punched cut edges of the latter rust. Furthermore, the zinc coating is not scratch-resistant.
It is also known to coat a non-galvanized, bright steel strip with plastic. However, such a steel strip is also particularly susceptible to rust on the cut edges.
A paint or varnish can also be applied to the snow catcher, but this in no way contributes to better scratch resistance or better rust protection.
It is the object of the invention to eliminate the disadvantages of the snow catchers produced in the usual methods.
A method for the surface coating of the roof snow catcher is to be proposed, in which its entire surface is coated in such a way that it is effectively protected against rust and scratching by this layer.
This is achieved according to the invention in such a way that an epoxy resin layer is applied to the roof snow catcher made from a Sendzimir galvanized steel strip. Such an epoxy resin layer is advantageously applied electrolytically in powder form and then cured by heat in an oven.
The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example. Show it
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of a roof snow catcher and
Fig. 2 shows a section along the line II-II of Fig. 1 (on a larger scale).
In the figure, a snow catcher is shown, which was punched out of a sendzimir galvanized sheet metal strip; the punched-out piece with different openings 3, db, 5 was then bent and welded in points 2 to obtain the shape of a snow catcher.
The surfaces 1 and the edges 1 a of the roof snow catcher thus produced are then coated with an epoxy resin layer 8. This epoxy resin layer is applied electrolytically in powder form to the surfaces 1 and the edges 1 a. The epoxy resin layer thus applied is cured by heat in an oven. The epoxy resin is available in different colors.
The roof snow catcher manufactured in this way is scratch-resistant and has double protection against rust, namely through the layer of epoxy resin 8, which covers the layer 7 and the cut edges 1 a, as can be seen from FIG. 2. With 6 the steel sheet is designated.
