Abstract
Compounds are prepared, of formula: <IMAGE> in which A denotes an azo coupling radical originating from carbocyclic or aromatic hydroxylated carboxylic acids, 1-aryl-5-hydroxypyrazoles, 6-amino-1-naphthol-3-sulphonic acid and compounds containing an enolisable ketomethylene group; R is H or a halogen or an alkyl or alkoxy group; R2 is H, an alkyl or alkoxy group, a halogen or an aminomethyl or 2-aminoethyl group; each of R1 and R3 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl or a lower alkoxy group, a halogen atom or an aminomethyl group, and n is equal to 1 or 2 and corresponds to the number of azo bonds. To do this, a corresponding amine is diazotised and approximately n molar proportions of the resulting diazonium salt are coupled with a molar proportion of a coupling compound. The azo dyes thus obtained can be used for dyeing natural fibres, synthetic fibres and cellulosic materials.
