La pièce cylindrique 2 ressort du logement ou bâti; cette partie extérieure 11 est prévue pour permettre d'effectuer la rotation de la pièce; elle ne doit bien entendu pas nécessairement être de forme cylindrique. Dans la réalisation montrée, on a prévu dans cette partie extérieure 11, un creux 12 ayant la forme d'une chambre cylindrique, dans lequel est enchassé un bouton ou loquet 13 au moyen duquel on effectuera la rotation de la pièce cylindrique 2 dans le logement du dispositif;
The present invention relates to a device for dispensing a volumetric dose of a product or mixture of products in powder or liquid form by their nature or at least of a product or mixture of products which can be assured. that by their natural form, they present a set of elements of reduced size or that can be reduced to powder, crystals, etc ... of small size so that of itself, this product or mixture of products flows and fills a chamber whose internal volume represents a dose, chamber which is emptied by rotation at least greater than 90O and generally 1800.
Current devices dispensing a dose of product are based on the same principle of a drawer placed in a housing having both an upper opening and a lower opening and whose interior volume corresponds more or less to the dispensed dose, which is either permanently filled and that one empties by attracting it towards oneself, or conversely which fills up when pushed in and empties when brought back to its initial position, the drawer being returned to the initial position by the 'action of one or more elastic or one or more springs.
These devices have the major drawback that, when the drawer is in an intermediate position, that is to say neither entirely in the housing nor entirely out, the drawer can both fill from the top and empty from the bottom. . We have of course succeeded in avoiding this drawback by shifting in the direction of the length an opening of the drawer relative to the other opening, and by providing that the upper face and the lower face of the drawer are entirely full over part of their length, but this resulted in the obligation to use drawers whose length greatly exceeded the depth of the housing in which they were to move.
In addition, in these different devices, there is practically always a crushing of the product when the drawer is brought into or brought back into the housing, which for certain materials constitutes a serious drawback because after a certain time of use, to force to be compressed, these materials can form blocks or agglomerates preventing the proper functioning of the drawer.
Furthermore, none of these devices is suitable for dispensing liquid products; it is in fact practically impossible to obtain a suitable seal given the clearance that must be provided in order to allow the slide to move.
The device according to the present invention overcomes these drawbacks by being also usable for dispensing liquid products. It essentially consists of a straight cylindrical part provided in its side with said chamber, a part which is introduced horizontally into a second part, internally comprising a cylindrical cavity of diameter practically identical to that of the outside diameter of the cylindrical part, cavity in which can rotate at least 90O the cylindrical part so that the entrance to the chamber provided therein can be placed alternately at least partially opposite an entry and an exit provided in the second part and thus come fill and empty.
In one embodiment of the device, the inlet and outlet provided in the second room or housing normally face each other and are normally of the same diameter, almost identical to that of the inlet of the bedroom provided in the first room.
However, in the case of very fine products and for which the total flow is ensured by a simple inclination, which is the case in particular with liquids, it will suffice that part of the inlet of the chamber of the first part protrudes towards down the horizontal so that it empties. It can therefore be envisaged that the exit from the housing is located just after the horizontal on the ground,
i.e. not entirely below the housing of the
device but on one side of the device housing. In the
in the case of products of this kind, it is quite certain that one is not required to provide almost identical diameters respectively for the entry and exit of the housing or frame
dispenser and the entrance to the chamber from the first room.
The rotation of the first part in the housing of the dispo
control is carried out manually, or directly by acting on
its visible flat face, this face being arranged for this purpose, a
button, latch, etc. being placed there, either indirectly through a lever, arm, etc.
Although the rotation of the first cylindrical part in the
housing of the dosing device can be in one direction and
in the other manually, preferably, provision is made to automatically force the return of the first part to its initial position by the action of an elastic means, preferably a helical spring, the ends or tabs of this spring being held respectively by the housing of the device and the first cylindrical part.
In order to place this spring, a circumferential empty space corresponding to the largest diameter of the spring at rest as well as a groove perpendicular to the edge of the circle, in which groove will come place an outer leg of the spring, and on the other hand, that the flat face, placed inside the housing of the device of the cylindrical part, ends in a circumferential projection terminated by a flat face whose depth is approximately corresponding to the depth of the circumferential void space, but however slightly greater than the width of the spring, and of diameter corresponding to the smallest diameter of the spring at rest. On the lateral edge of this projection, a perpendicular groove is provided in which the inner leg of the spring will be placed.
In order to prevent, during a rotation both in the forward direction and the return direction, the entry of the chamber of the first cylindrical part even partially exceeds the exit and the entry of the housing of the device, it is provided in this part a slot in which the end of a stop passing through a wall of the housing or frame of the metering device is placed, the length of the slot corresponding exactly to the amplitude of the desired rotation plus the thickness of the stop taken in the plane of rotation. This stop, moreover, blocks the cylindrical part in the housing or frame of the metering device, preventing its removal. In order to facilitate the rotation of the first cylindrical part in the housing of the device, it is possible to optionally provide for chamfering certain angles, likewise it is possible to provide for the flaring of the walls of the chamber, of the inlet and the outlet of the housing of the device .
Furthermore, depending on whether the device which is the subject of the invention is intended to be placed under a container, bottle, cartridge, etc., or to operate independently, the housing of the metering device will be formed at its upper part in any known manner. in the form of a funnel, neck, etc ... which can even constitute an inviolable whole without destruction with the container, bottle, cartridge, etc ...
Although the device described above can be manufactured and machined in any suitable material possible, it is perfectly suited to be made of PVC and other similar material and this by the usual molding methods, one for housing the device, the other for the cylindrical part.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a side profile view in central section partially cut away of the device.
Fig. 2 shows a front view in section along II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a front view in section along III
III of fig. 1.

IV of fig. 1.
In the drawing, a preferred embodiment has been shown which is particularly suitable for dispensing powdered products, in which 1 is the housing of the device, 2 the straight cylindrical part in which the chamber 3 is hollowed out, the interior volume of which corresponds to the dose that l 'we want to distribute.
The housing of the device 1 comprises at its upper horizontal part an inlet 4 with an edge 5 slightly flared upwards, at its lower part an outlet 6; the entry 4 is surmounted by a crown 7 whose shape and internal diameter corresponds to the external diameter of the cartridge, of the container, etc. (not shown) that it must enclose.
The housing of the device comprises in its lateral face 8 a cylindrical cavity 9 in which the cylindrical part 2 is placed, the inside diameter of one practically corresponds to the outside diameter of the other, a slight difference being only provided to allow rotation. (Fig. 3) of the cylindrical part 2 under the action of a force.
The inlet 10 of the chamber 3 in the device shown has the same diameter as the inlet 4 and the outlet 6 of the housing or frame of the metering device 1. This is indeed the solution necessary for the regular distribution of a powder product.
The cylindrical part 2 emerges from the housing or frame; this outer part 11 is provided to allow the part to be rotated; it does not of course necessarily have to be cylindrical in shape. In the embodiment shown, there is provided in this outer part 11, a hollow 12 having the shape of a cylindrical chamber, in which is embedded a button or latch 13 by means of which the cylindrical part 2 will be rotated in the housing. of the device;
this rotation which can be done in both directions, is generally as in the example chosen in the direction of clockwise for the emptying of the chamber 3 and with an amplitude of 180 "; so that the chamber 3 returns automatically in position after a rotation of the cylindrical part 2, provision is made to place a heliocidal spring 14 (fig. 2) terminated at both ends by a tab, respectively 15 and 16, more or less perpendicular to the circles described by the spring 14.
This spring 14 at rest is placed by its tab 16 in a groove 17 provided on a circumferential projection 18 with which the rear of the cylindrical part 2 is provided. The other tab 15 of the spring 14 is placed in a groove 19 provided in the bottom of housing 1 where a circumferential recess 20 has been provided, recess 20 at the edge of which the groove 19 takes place; the diameter of this recess 20 is less than the diameter of the cylindrical cavity 9 so that the groove 19 is in a circle smaller than the diameter of the cylindrical part 2, because the end of the tab 15 cannot exceed the cylindrical part 2, because otherwise it would prevent the introduction of this part into the housing of the device 1.
It should be noted that the length of the coil spring 14 is calculated in such a way that at rest, when the tab 16 is placed in the groove 17 of the circumferential projection 18, the tab 15 comes practically, when one introduces the cylindrical part 2 in the housing or frame of the metering device 1, opposite the groove 19 of the circumferential recess 20. Furthermore, the groove 17 and the groove 19 are respectively of a depth less than the depth of the recess 20 and of the projection 18 so that the coil spring 14 is held away from the bottom of the housing of the device and from the rear face of the cylindrical part.
In order to prevent, during a rotation of the cylindrical part 2 both on the outward and return side, that the inlet of the chamber 3 even partially exceeds the inlet 4 and the outlet 6 of the housing of the device, the rotation is limited by a stopper which constitutes, in the embodiment shown in the drawing (Fig. 1 and 4), a rivet 21 embedded through the upper wall of the housing of the device 1 in a hole 22 provided for this purpose; in this wall the rivet 21 greatly exceeds the thickness of this wall to be placed in a slot 23 hollowed out in the side of the cylindrical part 2. This slot 23 has an equal length, in the case of planned rotation of 180 of the part cylindrical, with a semi-circle, i.e. 1800 plus the thickness of the rivet 21.
It is easily understood that both in one direction of rotation and the other of the cylindrical part, the ends 24 and 25 of the slot 23 will abut against this rivet 21. Furthermore, this rivet 21 positions the cylindrical part 2 longitudinally in the housing. of the device 1 and prevents its removal; of course, the rivet 21 is set after the introduction of the cylindrical part 2 in the housing or frame of the device. If the embodiment shown in the drawing and described above relates particularly to a device in which the rotation of the cylindrical part 2 is performed directly using a button or latch 13 moved directly by hand, it is easy to imagine that the rotation of the cylindrical part can be controlled by a lever or arm connected, for example, to a known system of a prepayment box.
In a variant, it would be possible to add jams or seals to the inlet of the chamber of the housing of the device and for example to arrange the outlet as a pouring neck.
