Die Erfindung betrifft einen Bund an einem Kleidungsstück, insbesondere Hosenbund, sowie ein Verfahren zu dessen Herstellung.
Bei bekannten Hosenbunden finden verhältnismässig steife, wenn auch nicht dehnbare innere Bandmaterialien Verwendung. Normalerweise findet Abdeckstoff entsprechend dem Hosenstoff Verwendung, um den äusseren Teil des Bandes abzudecken, der dann über die Oberseite des Bandes umgelegt und auf der Rückseite des Bandes an einem verhältnismässig billigen Futterstoff befestigt wird. Der Futterstoff wird dabei an dem Band selbst befestigt. Ferner werden dabei gewisse Breiten und Längen des Abdeckstoffs vorgesehen, um sowohl die Aussenseite des Bandes als auch die Innenseite des Futterstoffs abdecken zu können. Diese beiden getrennten Teile müssen dann zusammengenäht und an dem Band in der beschriebenen Weise befestigt werden.
Dabei wird als nachteilig angesehen, dass ein verhältnismässig grosser Arbeitsaufwand erforderlich ist. der jedoch bisher als zweckmässig erschien, damit durch die Verwendung von Futterstoff anstelle von Hosenstoff Materialkosten eingespart werden können.
Bei der Verwendung von dehnbaren Bandmaterialien führt dieses bekannte Verfahren zur Herstellung von Hosenbunden zu weiteren Schwierigkeiten. Um einen geeignet dehnbaren Hosenbund herstellen zu können, muss das dehnbare Band an einem entsprechend dehnbaren Material befestigt werden. Zu diesem Zweck kann beispielsweise das dehnbare Band an dehnbarem Hosenstoff an sich bekannter Art befestigt werden. Bei Verwendung von Leinen als verhältnismässig billigem Futterstoff werden jedoch die Vorteile des dehnbaren Hosenbundes weitgehend aufgehoben. Bei derartigen Ausführungsformen treten Abweichungen von der ebenen Oberflächenausbildung des Hosenbunds und der Hosen auf, wodurch das Aussehen des Kleidungsstücks im Bereich des Hosenbunds beeinträchtigt wird.
Es ist deshalb Aufgabe der Erfindung, einen Kleiderbund, insbesondere Hosenbund, der eingangs genannten Art sowie ein Verfahren zu dessen Herstellung derart zu verbessern, dass bei einer Ausnutzung der Vorteile dehnbarer Bänder einerseits keine Beeinträchtigung des Aussehens des Kleidungsstücks erfolgt und anderseits eine einfachere und schnellere Herstellung möglich ist. Diese Aufgabe wird durch die kennzeichnenden Merkmale des Patentanspruchs I bzw. des Patentanspruchs II gelöst.
Durch die Erfindung wird ein Bund an einem Kleidungsstück geschaffen, durch den Nachteile und Schwierigkeiten der genannten Art vermieden werden können, und der in einfacher Weise zusammen mit dehnbarem Kleiderstoff verwendet werden kann, wobei weniger Verfahrensschritte als bei bekannten Verfahren erforderlich sind.
Zur Herstellung beispielsweise eines Hosenbundes wird ein verhältnismässig schmales Band sowie ein Streifen aus Abdeckstoff, dessen Breite mindestens etwas grösser als die doppelte Breite des Bandes ist, verwendet. Das Band und der Abdeckstoff werden zunächst derart übereinander angeordnet, dass sie sich in der gleichen Längsrichtung erstrecken, wobei die erste Oberfläche des Bandes an der Innenfläche des Abdeckstoffs aufliegt. Der Abdeckstoff erstreckt sich seitlich über beide Längskanten des Bandes und über die eine Längskante mit einem Abstand, der grösser als die Breite des Bandes ist. Das Band und der Abdeckstoff werden dann in dieser Lage aneinander befestigt. Der Abdeckstoff und das Band werden dann relativ zueinander um die erste Längskante des Bandes umgefaltet. Dadurch wird die andere Oberfläche des Bandes ebenfalls in Berührung mit der Innenfläche des Abdeckstoffs gebracht.
Der Stoff der Hose wird dann direkt an dem Abdeckstoff entlang einer Längslinie angrenzend an die zweite Längskante des Bandes befestigt.

Wie aus Fig. 1 und 2 ersichtlich ist, wird zunächst ein Streifen aus Abdeckstoff 21 mit einem Band 22 aus dehnbarem Material verbunden. Der Abdeckstoff 22 ist so zugeschnitten, dass seine Länge etwas grösser als die gewünschte Bundlänge ist, und dass die Breite etwas grösser als das Doppelte der schliesslich gewünschten Breite des Hosenbunds ist.
Das Band 22 besteht aus einem dehnbaren Material an sich bekannter Art, das ein gefälliges Aussehen und eine Verstärkung und Versteifung ohne Faltenbildung usw. an der Hose ermöglicht.
Anstelle der Verbindung des vorzugsweise dehnbaren Bandes mit einem verhältnismässig billigen Futterstoff aus Leinen, wobei der Futterstoff an dem Stoff befestigt wird, der den äusseren Teil des Bandes abdeckt, wird das Band direkt an einem einzigen Streifen aus Abdeckstoff befestigt, welcher Stoff vorzugsweise identisch mit dem übrigen Hosenstoff ist.
Das Band 22 wird mit dem Abdeckstoff 21 mit einem Kettenstich 20 verbunden, um eine sichere Verbindung des Bandes mit dem Stoff zu gewährleisten, und um anderseits eine Dehnung zu ermöglichen, wenn der Stoff und das Band gespannt werden. Die Schnittkante 23 des Abdeckstoffs kann durch zickzackförmige Versäuberungsstiche 24 (Fig. 3) gesichert werden.
Nach dem Befestigen des Bandes 22 an dem Abdeckstoff 21 erfolgt das in Fig. 3 dargestellte Umfalten, bei dem ein Innenteil 26 des Abdeckstoffs 21 umgefaltet wird. Ein Aussenteil 27 des Abdeckstoffs 21 wird, das Band 22 überdeckend, umgefaltet. Das Band wird dann an dem Aussenteil 27 mit Hilfe entfernbarer Heftstiche 28 befestigt, wie in Fig. 4 und 5 dargestellt ist. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt ist das Band dauerhaft durch die Kettenstiche 20 mit dem Innenteil 26 verbunden und an dem Aussenteil 27 mit den Heftstichen 28 angeheftet.
Das Band 22 ist deshalb mit den beiden Teilen 26, 27 aus einstückigem Abdeckstoff 21 verbunden.
Dann ist der Hosenbund praktisch fertig, so dass er an der Hose befestigt werden kann. Bei einem derartigen Hosenbund ist das Band 22 derart an beiden Teilen des einstückigen Streifens aus Abdeckstoff 21 befestigt, dass der Hosenbund in einfacher Weise an der Hose befestigt werden kann, wie im folgenden noch näher erläutert werden soll.
Wie in Fig. 6 und 7 dargestellt ist, wird der Hosenbund gemäss Fig. 5 auf den Hosenstoff 31 aufgelegt. Die Oberfläche 32 ist die Aussenseite der Hose. Der Hosenstoff 31 und der Hosenbund werden entlang der Linie 33 zusammengenäht, die angrenzend an das Band 22 verläuft. Eine Kante des Bandes dient deshalb als Führung zum Annähen des Hosenbundes an der Hose. Diese Führung ermöglicht eine Erhöhung der Arbeitsgeschwindigkeit und eine Verbesserung des Aussehens der Naht entlang der Linie 33. Der Hosenstoff wird dann um die Linie 33 umgeklappt, wie in Fig. 8 dargestellt ist.
Wie aus Fig. 8 und 9 ersichtlich ist, wird dann durch sich gemeinsam erstreckende Teile des Hosenstoffs 31 und des Abdeckstoffs 21 ein Abschnitt 37 gebildet, der durch die Naht 33 und die Längskanten 37a bzw. 37b des Hosenstoffs bzw. des Abdeckstoffs begrenzt wird.
Wie aus Fig. 10 und 11 ersichtlich ist, wird der Abschnitt 37 dann um 180 umgefaltet, so dass die Längskanten 37a und 37b über dem Band 22 liegen. Wie aus Fig. 12 und 13 ersichtlich ist, wird der Innenteil 26 des Abdeckstoffs 21 dann über dem Abschnitt 37 entlang den Kettenstichen 20 zurückgefaltet. Diese Stiche sind auf der Innenseite des Hosenbunds sichtbar. Dann erfolgt ein Umdrehen aus der in Fig. 13 dargestellten Lage in die in Fig. 14 dargestellte Lage, und eine endgültige Kettenstichnaht 40 wird am unteren Rand 40a des Hosenbunds ausgebildet, wodurch die Hose und der Teil 26 des Abdeckstoffs aneinander befestigt werden. Wie in Fig. 15 dargestellt ist, wird dann der Heftfaden 28 entfernt, wodurch die Befestigung des Bandes 22 an dem Teil 27 des Abdeckstoffs 21 aufgehoben wird.
Die einzige Befestigung zwischen dem Band 22 und dem Abdeckstoff 21 sind die Kettenstiche 20. Wie aus Fig. 16 ersichtlich ist, können dann die Enden des Hosenbunds an dem Hosenschlitz leicht umgefaltet und vernäht werden, so dass dieser oft lästige Arbeitsschritt in einfacher und zweckmässiger Weise durchgeführt werden kann.
Bei der in Fig. 16 dargestellten fertigen Hose sind die relative Lage der verschiedenen Nähte, des Hosenstoffs sowie der umgefalteten Enden 41, 42 des Hosenbunds ersichtlich.
Obwohl das beschriebene Ausführungsbeispiel einen Hosenbund betrifft, kann ein derartiger Bund auch für andere Kleidungsstücke Verwendung finden. Das beschriebene Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Hosenbunds ist vor allem deshalb einfacher als bekannte Verfahren, weil ein einstückiger Streifen aus Abdeckstoff zum Abdecken beider Seiten des Bandes Verwendung findet, sowie eine spezielle Folge von Stichen, wie bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel erläutert wurde.
Vorzugsweise findet ein dehnbares Band und dehnbarer Hosenstoff Verwendung, so dass ein gefälliges Aussehen und eine besonders grosse Lebensdauer gewährleistet sind.
PATENTANSPRUCH I
Bund mit einem versteifenden Band an einem Kleidungsstück, insbesondere Hosenbund, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Streifen aus Abdeckstoff (21) eine Breite aufweist, die grösser als das Doppelte der Breite des versteifenden Bandes (22) ist, sowie eine Länge, die etwa gleich derjenigen des Bandes ist, dass das Band (22) und der Abdeckstoff (21) durch eine Längsnaht (20) miteinander verbunden sind, dass der Abdeckstoff (21) von der Naht (20) ausgehend um die eine Längskante des Bandes (22) derart umgefaltet ist, dass er mit seiner Innenfläche an der gegenüberliegenden Oberfläche des Bandes (22) anliegt und sich noch über die andere Längskante des Bandes hinaus erstreckt, und dass in diesem sich hinaus erstreckenden Randstreifen des Abdeckstoffs dieser mit dem übrigen Kleidungsstück (31) verbunden ist.
UNTERANSPRÜCHE
1. Kleiderbund nach Patentanspruch I, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Band (22) und der Abdeckstoff (21) aus dehnbarem Material bestehen.
2. Kleiderbund nach Unteranspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Kleidungsstück aus demselben Material wie der Abdeckstoff besteht.
3. Kleiderbund nach Patentanspruch I, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass durch eine zweite Naht (33) der Abdeckstoff (21) in dem genannten Randstreifen (27) desselben angrenzend an die genannte andere Längskante des Bandes an dem übrigen Kleidungsstück befestigt ist, dass der genannte Randstreifen des Abdeckstoffs auf die andere Seite des Bandes umgefaltet ist, und dass der von der erstgenannten Naht (20) ausgehende zweite Abschnitt des Abdeckstoffs über dem ersten Randstreifen (27) liegt und ebenfalls mit dem Stoff des übrigen Kleidungsstücks vernäht ist.
PATENTANSPRUCH II
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Bunds an einem Kleidungsstück nach Patentanspruch I, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Band und der Streifen aus Abdeckstoff derart aufeinandergelegt werden, dass sich das Band in der Längsrichtung des Abdeckstoffs erstreckt, so dass eine erste Seite des Bandes an der Innenfläche des Abdeckstoffs anliegt, wobei der Abdeckstoff sich seitlich über die beiden Längskanten des Bandes und auf einer Seite über eine erste Längskante des Bandes um einen Abstand erstreckt, der grösser als die Breite des Bandes ist, dass das Band und der Abdeckstoff im wesentlichen entlang der gesamten Länge durch eine Naht (20) miteinander verbunden werden, dass das Band und der Abdeckstoff relativ zueinander um die erste Längskante des Bandes umgefaltet werden, so dass die zweite Seite des Bandes ebenfalls an der Innenfläche des Abdeckstoffs anliegt,
und dass das übrige Kleidungsstück direkt mit dem Abdeckstoff entlang einer Längslinie (33), angrenzend an die zweite Längskante des Bandes, vernäht wird.
UNTERANSPRÜCHE
4. Verfahren nach Patentanspruch II, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zum Vernähen des Kleiderstoffs mit dem Abdeckstoff ein Teil der Aussenfläche des Kleiderstoffs angrenzend an die Aussenfläche des Abdeckstoffs angeordnet wird, so dass die erste Längskante des Abdeckstoffs zusammen mit einer Kante des Bekleidungsstoffs endet und die Längslinie und die erste Längskante des Abdeckstoffs bzw. des Bekleidungsstoffs sich gemeinsam erstreckende Abschnitte von Bekleidungsstoff und Abdeckstoff begrenzen, und dass dann der Bekleidungsstoff um die Längslinie umgefaltet wird (Fig. 9).
5. Verfahren nach Unteranspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Teil des Abdeckstoffs, der durch die erstgenannte Naht (20) und die zweite Längskante des Abdeckstoffs begrenzt ist, um diese Naht zurückgefaltet wird, wobei ein Teil der ersten Seite des Bandes freigelegt wird, dass die sich gemeinsam erstreckenden Abschnitte von Bekleidungsstoff und Abdeckstoff auf den freigelegten Teil des Bandes umgefaltet werden (Fig. 10), und dass der genannte zurückgefaltete Teil des Abdeckstoffs auf den Kleiderstoff umgefaltet und mit diesem vernäht wird (Fig. 14).

The invention relates to a waistband on an item of clothing, in particular a waistband, and a method for its production.
In known pant bands, relatively stiff, albeit inextensible, inner band materials are used. Normally, cover fabric is used corresponding to the pants fabric to cover the outer part of the tape, which is then folded over the top of the tape and attached to a relatively cheap lining on the back of the tape. The lining is attached to the tape itself. Furthermore, certain widths and lengths of the covering material are provided in order to be able to cover both the outside of the tape and the inside of the lining material. These two separate parts must then be sewn together and attached to the tape in the manner described.
It is seen as a disadvantage that a relatively large amount of work is required. which, however, previously appeared to be useful, so that material costs can be saved by using lining material instead of trouser material.
When using stretchable tape materials, this known method for the production of waistbands leads to further difficulties. In order to be able to produce a suitably stretchable waistband, the stretchable band must be attached to a suitably stretchable material. For this purpose, for example, the stretchable band can be attached to stretchable trouser fabric of a known type. When using linen as a relatively cheap lining material, however, the advantages of the stretchable waistband are largely eliminated. In such embodiments, deviations from the flat surface configuration of the waistband and the trousers occur, as a result of which the appearance of the item of clothing in the region of the waistband is impaired.
It is therefore the object of the invention to improve a garment waistband, in particular a waistband, of the type mentioned and a method for its production in such a way that when the advantages of stretchable tapes are exploited, on the one hand, the appearance of the garment is not impaired and, on the other hand, simpler and faster production is possible. This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim I and claim II.
The invention creates a waistband on an item of clothing by means of which the disadvantages and difficulties of the type mentioned can be avoided and which can be used in a simple manner together with stretchable clothing material, fewer process steps being required than in known processes.
To produce a waistband, for example, a relatively narrow band and a strip of cover material, the width of which is at least slightly greater than twice the width of the band, is used. The tape and the cover material are initially arranged one above the other in such a way that they extend in the same longitudinal direction, with the first surface of the tape resting on the inner surface of the cover material. The cover material extends laterally over both longitudinal edges of the tape and over one longitudinal edge at a distance which is greater than the width of the tape. The tape and cover fabric are then attached to one another in this position. The cover material and the tape are then folded over relative to one another around the first longitudinal edge of the tape. This also brings the other surface of the tape into contact with the inner surface of the cover fabric.
The fabric of the pants is then attached directly to the cover fabric along a longitudinal line adjacent the second longitudinal edge of the tape.

As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, a strip of cover material 21 is first connected to a band 22 of stretchable material. The cover material 22 is cut so that its length is slightly greater than the desired waistband length and that the width is slightly greater than twice the ultimately desired width of the waistband.
The band 22 consists of a stretchable material of a known type, which allows a pleasing appearance and a reinforcement and stiffening without wrinkling etc. on the pants.
Instead of connecting the preferably stretchable tape to a relatively inexpensive linen lining, the lining being attached to the fabric covering the outer portion of the tape, the tape is attached directly to a single strip of covering fabric, which fabric is preferably identical to that the rest of the trouser fabric.
The tape 22 is connected to the cover fabric 21 with a chain stitch 20 to ensure a secure connection of the tape to the fabric and, on the other hand, to allow stretching when the fabric and the tape are tensioned. The cut edge 23 of the cover material can be secured by zigzag-shaped serging stitches 24 (FIG. 3).
After the band 22 has been attached to the cover material 21, the folding shown in FIG. 3 takes place, in which an inner part 26 of the cover material 21 is folded over. An outer part 27 of the cover material 21 is folded over, covering the tape 22. The tape is then attached to the outer member 27 with the aid of removable tack stitches 28, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. At this point in time, the tape is permanently connected to the inner part 26 by the chain stitches 20 and attached to the outer part 27 with the tacking stitches 28.
The band 22 is therefore connected to the two parts 26, 27 made of one-piece covering material 21.
Then the waistband is practically ready, so that it can be attached to the trousers. In such a waistband, the band 22 is attached to both parts of the one-piece strip of cover material 21 in such a way that the waistband can be attached to the pants in a simple manner, as will be explained in more detail below.
As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the waistband according to FIG. 5 is placed on the trouser fabric 31. The surface 32 is the outside of the pants. The trouser fabric 31 and the waistband are sewn together along the line 33 which runs adjacent to the tape 22. One edge of the tape therefore serves as a guide for sewing the waistband onto the trousers. This guide enables the working speed to be increased and the appearance of the seam along the line 33 to be improved. The trouser fabric is then folded over around the line 33, as shown in FIG.
As can be seen from FIGS. 8 and 9, a section 37 is then formed by mutually extending parts of the trouser fabric 31 and the cover fabric 21, which is delimited by the seam 33 and the longitudinal edges 37a and 37b of the trouser fabric or the cover fabric.
As can be seen from FIGS. 10 and 11, the section 37 is then folded over by 180 so that the longitudinal edges 37a and 37b lie above the band 22. As can be seen from FIGS. 12 and 13, the inner part 26 of the cover material 21 is then folded back over the section 37 along the chain stitches 20. These stitches are visible on the inside of the waistband. Then there is an inversion from the position shown in Fig. 13 to the position shown in Fig. 14, and a final chain stitch seam 40 is formed on the lower edge 40a of the waistband, whereby the pants and the portion 26 of the cover fabric are secured together. As shown in Fig. 15, the stitching thread 28 is then removed, whereby the attachment of the tape 22 to the part 27 of the cover material 21 is released.
The only attachment between the tape 22 and the cover material 21 are the chain stitches 20. As can be seen from FIG. 16, the ends of the waistband can then be easily folded over and sewn at the trouser fly, so that this often annoying work step can be carried out in a simple and practical manner can be carried out.
In the case of the finished trousers shown in FIG. 16, the relative position of the various seams, the trouser fabric and the folded-over ends 41, 42 of the waistband can be seen.
Although the exemplary embodiment described relates to a waistband, such a waistband can also be used for other items of clothing. The method described for producing a waistband is simpler than known methods, above all, because a one-piece strip of cover material is used to cover both sides of the tape, as well as a special sequence of stitches, as was explained in the exemplary embodiment.
A stretchable band and stretchable trouser fabric are preferably used, so that a pleasing appearance and a particularly long service life are guaranteed.
PATENT CLAIM I
Waistband with a stiffening band on an item of clothing, in particular a waistband, characterized in that a strip of cover material (21) has a width which is greater than twice the width of the stiffening band (22) and a length which is approximately equal to that of the tape is that the tape (22) and the cover material (21) are connected by a longitudinal seam (20) so that the cover material (21) is folded over from the seam (20) around one longitudinal edge of the tape (22) is that it rests with its inner surface on the opposite surface of the tape (22) and still extends beyond the other longitudinal edge of the tape, and that in this extending edge strip of the cover material this is connected to the rest of the garment (31).

Garment band according to claim I, characterized in that by a second seam (33) of the cover material (21) in said edge strip (27) of the same is attached to the rest of the garment adjacent to said other longitudinal edge of the band, that said edge strip of the cover material is folded over to the other side of the tape, and that the second section of the cover material starting from the first-mentioned seam (20) lies over the first edge strip (27) and is also sewn to the material of the rest of the garment.
PATENT CLAIM II
Method for producing a waistband on an item of clothing according to claim 1, characterized in that the tape and the strip of cover material are placed on top of one another in such a way that the tape extends in the longitudinal direction of the cover material, so that a first side of the tape is on the inner surface of the cover material the cover material extends laterally over the two longitudinal edges of the tape and on one side over a first longitudinal edge of the tape by a distance which is greater than the width of the tape, so that the tape and the cover material essentially along the entire length a seam (20) are connected to one another so that the tape and the cover material are folded over relative to one another around the first longitudinal edge of the tape so that the second side of the tape also rests against the inner surface of the cover material,
and that the remainder of the garment is sewn directly to the cover material along a longitudinal line (33) adjacent to the second longitudinal edge of the tape.
SUBCLAIMS
4. The method according to claim II, characterized in that for sewing the clothing material with the cover material part of the outer surface of the clothing material is arranged adjacent to the outer surface of the cover material so that the first longitudinal edge of the cover material ends together with an edge of the clothing material and the longitudinal line and the first longitudinal edge of the cover material or of the clothing material delimit jointly extending sections of clothing material and cover material, and that the clothing material is then folded over around the longitudinal line (FIG. 9).

The method according to dependent claim 4, characterized in that the part of the covering material which is delimited by the first-mentioned seam (20) and the second longitudinal edge of the covering material is folded back around this seam, whereby part of the first side of the tape is exposed, that the jointly extending portions of clothing fabric and cover fabric are folded over onto the exposed part of the tape (Fig. 10), and that said folded back part of the cover fabric is folded over onto the clothing fabric and sewn to it (Fig. 14).
