Abstract

The circular saw blade has teeth (1) tipped with hard metal round the blade (A) circumference. At intervals, slots (2) are cut into the circumference and tipped again with hard metal (4). This tip is wider than the thickness of the saw blade and has a negative angle to give a clearance cut. The slot is wide enough for clearance (3) at the front and bottom of the tip. Between these teeth, in the body of the blade, are C-shaped slots (5). The rear face of each slot is similarly tipped with hard metal (4), the top edges slightly overlapping the bottom edges of the first clearance teeth.
