Example 12
A. Insecticidal feed poison effect
Tobacco and potato plants were sprayed with a 0.05% aqueous active substance emulsion (obtained from a 10% emulsifiable concentrate).
After the covering had dried on, the tobacco plants were populated with owl caterpillars (Spodoptera litoralis) and the potato plants with Colorado beetle larvae (Leptinotarsa decemlineata). The experiment is carried out at 24 C and 60% relative humidity.
B. Systemic insecticidal effect
To determine the systemic effect, rooted bean plants (Vicia faba) were placed in a 0.01% strength aqueous active ingredient solution (obtained from a 10% strength emulsifiable concentrate). After 24 hours, aphids (Aphis fabae) were placed on the above-ground parts of the plant. The animals were protected from contact and gas effects by a special device. The experiment was carried out at 24 C and 70% relative humidity.
In the above experiments, the compounds according to Examples 1 to 11 showed insecticidal feed poison action and systemic insecticidal action.
Example 13
Effect against Chilo suppressalis
6 rice plants of the Caloro variety were transplanted into plastic pots with an upper diameter of 17 cm and raised to a height of about 60 cm. The infestation with Chilo suppressalis larvae (L1; 3-4 mm long) took place 2 days after the addition of the active ingredient in granulate form (application rate 8 kg active ingredient per hectare) in the paddy water. The insecticidal activity was evaluated 10 days after the granules had been added.
The compounds according to Examples 1 to 11 acted against Chilo suppressalis in the above test.
Example 14
Action against Aulo-cophora femoralis, Pachmoda and
Cortophila larvae
Sterilized compost soil was mixed homogeneously with a wettable powder containing 25% active ingredient, so that an application rate of 8 kg of active ingredient per hectare resulted.
With the treated soil, young zucchetti plants (Cucumis pepo) were potted in plastic pots (three plants per pot with a diameter of 7 cm). Each pot was immediately afterwards with 5 Aulacophora femoralis larvae, respectively. Pachmoda or Chortophila larvae infected. The control was carried out 4, 8, 16 and 32 days after the larvae were inserted.
At 80-100% kill after the first control, a new infestation was carried out with 5 larvae each in the same soil pattern with 3 new courgette plants. If the effect was less than 80%, the remaining animals remained in the test soil until the next control. If a substance caused 100% destruction at an application rate of 8 kg / ha, then a follow-up test with 4 resp. 2 kg active ingredient / ha.
In the above test, the compounds according to Examples 1 to 11 showed activity against Aulacophora fermoralis, Pachmoda and Chlortophila larvae.
Example 15
Effect against ticks
A. Rhipicephalus bursa
5 adult ticks or 50 tick larvae were counted in a glass tube and an aqueous emulsion from a dilution series with 100, 10, 1 and 0.1 ppm test substance was immersed in 2 ml for 1 to 2 minutes. The tube was then closed with a standardized cotton ball and turned upside down so that the active ingredient emulsion could be absorbed by the cotton wool.
The evaluation was carried out after 2 weeks for the adults and after 2 days for the larvae. Two repetitions were run for each attempt.
B. Boophilus microplus (larvae)
With an analogous dilution series as in test A, 20 sensitive resp. OP-resistant larval experiments were carried out. (The resistance refers to the tolerance of Diazinon.)
The compounds according to Examples 1 to 11 acted in these tests against adults and larvae of Rhipicephalus bursa and sensitive, respectively. Op-resistant larvae of Boophilus microplus.
Example 16
Acaricidal effect
Phaseolus vulgaris (French beans) were coated with an infected piece of leaf from a mass cultivation of Tetranychus urticae 12 hours before the test for acaricidal activity. The overflowing mobile stages were dusted with the emulsified test preparations from a chromatography atomizer so that the spray mixture did not run off. After two to 7 days, larvae, adults and eggs were evaluated under the binocular for living and dead individuals and the result was expressed as a percentage. During the holding time, the treated plants stood in greenhouse cabins at 25 C.
The compounds according to Examples 1 to 11 were active in the above test against adults, larvae and eggs of Tetranychus urticae.
Example 17
Effect against soil nematodes
To test the action against soil nematodes, the active ingredients were given in the specified concentration in soil infected by root cell nematodes (Meloidogyne arenaria) and mixed thoroughly. In the soil prepared in this way, tomato seedlings were planted immediately afterwards in one test series and tomatoes were sown in another test series after a waiting period of 8 days.
To assess the nematocidal effect, the galls present on the roots were counted 28 days after the plants or after the sowing.
In this test, the active ingredients according to Examples 1 to 11 showed a good action against Meloidogyne arenaria.
Example 18
Fungicidal action a) Action against Botrytis cinerea on Vicia faba
In Petri dishes, which have been laid out with moistened filter paper, three fully developed, equal-sized each were placed
Leaves of Vicia faba are placed, which are made with an active ingredient formulated as a 10% wettable powder
Broth (0.05% active substance content), with a Sprühappa rat were sprayed dripping wet. When the leaves were dry again, they were infected with a freshly prepared, standardized spore suspension of the fungus (concentration: 100,000 spores / ml) and kept in a humid atmosphere at 200 ° C. for 48 hours. After this time, they showed black, initially point-like spots that spread rapidly. The number and size of the infection sites were used as a yardstick for assessing the effectiveness of the test substance.
b) Action against Erysiphe cichoracearum on Cucumis sativus
Young Cucumis sativus plants were sprayed with a 0.05% suspension of the active ingredient formulated as a wettable powder and after the spray coating had dried on with a spore suspension of the fungus.
After 8 days in the greenhouse at approx. 23 ° C., the degree of infestation (proportion of the leaf surface covered by the mycelium coating) on the infected, treated leaves was determined in comparison with untreated, infected controls.
c) Action against Uromyces appendiculates on Phaseolus vulgaris
Phaseolus vulgaris plants in the two-leaf stage were sprayed to runoff with a suspension of the substance formulated as a wettable powder (conc. 0.05% active substance). After the spray coating had dried on, the plants were infected with a fresh spore suspension from the bean grate and then kept for one day in a humid chamber, then for 12 days in a greenhouse at 20 to 22 ° C. The number and size of the rust pustules served as an evaluation standard for the effectiveness of the test substances.
d) Action against Phytophthora infest on solanum
Lycopersicum
S. Lycopersicum plants of the same varieties and at the same stage of development were treated with a broth containing 0.05% active ingredient (made from the active ingredient that had been worked up to a wettable powder). After the spray coating had dried on, the plants were sprayed to runoff with a zoospore suspension of Ph. Infestans.
They then remained in the greenhouse for 6 days at 18-20 C and high humidity (95-100%) and after this time they showed typical leaf spots. The substance tested was assessed on the basis of their number and size.
The compounds according to Examples 1 to 11 showed good fungicidal activity in the above tests a) to d).
