Abstract

The window panel which rotates on the fixed panel is actuated by a motor,(40)in Fig. 1, which drives horizontal lead screws(22, 23)through the bevel gear arrangement(36). The motor is reversible. The leadscrews engage with leadscrew nuts which slid within the actuator frames. The window can also be opened by hand. The power actuator may be actuated by a timing switch so that the windows are opened at a specified time and for specified intervals. This can be useful for automatically opening the noise insulating windows of a dwelling house face a road carrying dense traffic. The automatic device opens the windows for airing at quiet periods.
