EMI0001.0010
6,75 <SEP> kg <SEP> Elektrolyt-chrom, <SEP> praktisch <SEP> stickstofffrei
<tb> 0,25 <SEP> kg <SEP> Chrom <SEP> mit <SEP> N-Gehalt <SEP> von <SEP> etwa <SEP> 5%
<tb> 2,9 <SEP> kg <SEP> Fe
<tb> 0,18 <SEP> kg <SEP> Hf
<tb> 0,01 <SEP> kg <SEP> Y <SEP> oder
<tb> 0,02 <SEP> kg <SEP> Cer
At low temperatures, ductile chromium alloys of high strength and high heat resistance. The invention relates to ductile, easily cast chromium alloys (Cr alloys) of high strength and high heat resistance according to patent claim of main patent 503 117 at low temperatures.
The main patent contains chromium alloys containing up to a total of 45% cobalt and / or iron and / or nickel, 0.01-0.5% nitrogen and also as nitride formers in amounts of titanium, zirconium and / or hafnium stoichiometric to nitrogen exhibit. It should be mentioned at this point that all percentages relate to the amounts of the individual elements in% by weight. The cobalt additions, when rapidly quenched from the melt, result primarily in cold-deformable, i.e. forgeable, workpieces, while the addition of iron is particularly recommended for castings.
By adding yttrium and rare earth metals, the properties of the alloys mentioned, in particular the ductility, can be further improved, as is also described in the main patent.
The present invention is based on the object of further improving certain properties of the alloys according to the main patent in a targeted manner by adding further elements, without the favorable properties achieved with these alloys being significantly impaired. Above all, the creep or heat resistance and, secondly, the castability should be improved by the additional elements. The invention is characterized by a Ge content of at least one of the elements rhenium (Re), Tan tal (Ta) or niobium (Nb) in concentrations of 0.5 to 15%. The following concentrations have proven to be advantageous for these additional elements: rhenium up to 3%, tantalum up to 7%, especially 0.5-2.5%, niobium up to 15%, especially 2-8%.
The castability of the alloys can also be improved by using aluminum as a further alloy element, which is advantageously present in amounts of up to 4%, in particular 1–3%.
The improvements achieved with these additives are described below in connection with various exemplary embodiments. <I> Example 1 </I> For a test melt of 10 kg of a chromium-based alloy with 30% Fe, 1.8% HfN, 0.1% Y or 0.2% Ce, 0.8% Re, remainder Chro (Cr) will be:
EMI0001.0010
6.75 <SEP> kg <SEP> electrolyte chrome, <SEP> practically <SEP> nitrogen-free
<tb> 0.25 <SEP> kg <SEP> Chromium <SEP> with <SEP> N content <SEP> of <SEP> about <SEP> 5%
<tb> 2.9 <SEP> kg <SEP> Fe
<tb> 0.18 <SEP> kg <SEP> Hf
<tb> 0.01 <SEP> kg <SEP> Y <SEP> or
<tb> 0.02 <SEP> kg <SEP> cerium
<tb> 0.08 <SEP> kg <SEP> Re melted in the correct metallurgical order in a vacuum induction furnace, which is lined with zirconium oxide (ZrO) stabilized by calcium oxide (CaO).
This melt is cast under a protective gas atmosphere of argon or helium in SiO2-free molds, which are preheated to around 1300 C, at a temperature of around 1650 C to form turbine blades and / or sample castings in rod or platelet form. The castings are in the as-cast state, i.e. without thermal and / or mechanical post-treatment, examined.
By adding the rhenium to the alloy, the high temperature strength of the base alloys already described in the main patent is improved. The investigations show that the creep or heat resistance values are 4 kp / mm2 (kilopond / mm2 cross section). These values are determined in a known manner by load tests at 1050 C for 100 hours and show that breakage occurs at a load of 4 kp / mm '.
With the addition of rhenium, the resistance to oxidation drops slightly; Another disadvantage is that at the same time the transition temperature for the transition ductile-brittle compared to the lowest value achieved with the basic alloy - 30% Fe, 1.8% HfN, 0.1% Y or 0.2% Ce of about 220 C is slightly increased to about 240 C. The transition temperature is determined on test pieces with the dimensions 27.5 X 6.5 X 1 cm3 using the impact test.
<I> Example 2 </I> Tantalum is added to the alloy according to Example 1 as a further additional element, namely in amounts of about 2% (= 0.2 kg Ta). The addition of tantalum causes the heat resistance to be increased again to 6 kp / mm2; In addition, this additive results in particularly good adhesion of the oxide layer to the surface.
The disadvantage of these advantages is another slight increase in the transition temperature compared to that of the base alloy mentioned. With the addition of tantalum, the transition temperature rises to the value of 270 ° C. given in Example 1 of the main patent for the basic alloy without the addition of yttrium or cerium.
<I> Example 3 </I> It is known that rhenium additives can hardly be used in practice for economic reasons. Therefore, in Example 3, an alloy is melted, cast and examined, which consists of 30% Fe, 1.8% HfN, 0.1% Y, 6010 Nb and the remainder Cr.
The properties of this alloy are about the same as those with the addition of rhenium in Example 2, if one of this alloy is compared with an elevated transition temperature of 270 C, i.e. a slightly increased brittleness, and a reduced oxidation resistance of AG = 6 mg / cm2 (milligrams / cm2 surface). The resistance to oxidation is determined by the weight gain A G of sample plates with a diameter of 15 mm in still air at 1100 ° C. for 100 hours.
<I> Example 4 </I> 2% (= 0.2 kg) aluminum are added to the insert according to Example 3, with the aim above all of improving the castability of the alloys.
With the exception of the additional aluminum addition, the same procedure as in the previous examples, the investigations show improved castability as a result of the aluminum addition. In addition, this addition results in increased resistance to oxidation; the measured values here show A G = 1 mg / cm '. Furthermore, the aluminum improves the adhesion of the oxide layer to the surface.
The examples described above and the influence of the individual additional elements on the alloy properties by themselves or in their interaction show that certain elements specifically improve certain properties of the base alloy according to the main patent, possibly with a weakening of the maximum values achieved for other properties can be. The invention is therefore of course not limited to the specified number examples.
