Description

fig.

  Mesh frame for pallet
The present invention relates to a grid frame for a pallet.

fl is already known, in order to facilitate the organization of internal and external transport and the keeping of stocks, to use pallets constituted by a plate provided with openings into which the forks of a handling device can be inserted. To retain the goods, handling containers in the form of a tray or removable mesh frame are superimposed on the pallets.

In order to avoid having recourse to completely independent frames, it has already been proposed to constitute each frame by fixed grid walls in the form of a parallelepiped retained by a pallet. These frames and the corresponding pallets can be stacked using stacking lugs integral with the upper side of at least two mesh walls. In frames of this type, to facilitate the handling of the products, one of the mesh walls is in the form of a door with one or two leaves with vertical or horizontal axes of rotation.

In another known embodiment, to facilitate handling, one of the mesh walls is removable.

Conventional wire cages with fixed walls have the drawback of being too bulky for empty storage and for return to the sender.

To solve the problem of bulk, it has already been proposed to have recourse to folding walls.

It is then necessary to stack the pallets and the cages separately, with wasted space and risk of damage.

According to the invention, the problem of avoiding congestion, during empty storage and return to the sender, is solved with a grid frame for a pallet consisting of four walls in the form of a parallelepiped, removably mounted and foldable on a base frame which follows the periphery of an underlying pallet, these walls being connected to each other at each apex of the parallelepiped by fittings, the upper fittings comprising bolts for fixing to the walls.

The accompanying drawing shows by way of example the grid frame for a pallet which is the subject of the invention.

   In the drawing:
Fig. 1 shows it in perspective, placed on a pallet.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a lower fitting.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a front upper fitting.

Fig. 4 is a perspective view of an upper rear fitting.

Fig. 5 shows a side view of three mesh frames superimposed by means of the pallets.

Fig. 6 shows, seen from the front, the mesh frames of FIG. 5 in empty storage or transport position, and
fig. 7 shows a detail, on a larger scale, of FIG. 5.

As can be seen in the drawing, the mesh frame consists of a frame 2 capable of being placed on the periphery of a conventional pallet 1, a front mesh wall 3, a rear mesh wall 4, two side mesh walls 5 and fittings 6, 7 and 8 arranged at each apex of the parallelepiped formed by the four walls 3, 4, 5, 5. Each fitting 6, 7 and 8 is provided with at least one stacking pin 9. Each mesh wall 3, 4 and 5 is provided at the top laterally on each side with a keeper 13 (see fig. 1) intended to receive the bolts 14, 15 (see fig. 3, 4) of the upper fittings.

The four lower brackets 8, identical to each other, are fixed to the lower frame 2 and are formed (see fig. 2) by two U-shaped irons 18 with unequal arms, the longer arm of which is bent in an L direction towards the left. 'other arm so as to form an opening 12 in communication with the space 11 formed by the two arms of the
U, the two U-shaped irons being arranged perpendicular to each other with a connecting edge towards the inside of the frame 2. Between the two U-shaped irons, above the lower fitting, is placed a stacking tenon 9 which covers the corresponding top of the lower frame 2.

On each mesh wall 3, 4, 5, is arranged below, on each vertical side, on the outside, an axis 10 which can penetrate between the two arms of the U-shaped iron, introduced through the opening 12 formed by the folding in L of the longest arm of the U-bar.

The upper front fitting (see fig. 3) consists of an L-shaped iron 6 with equal arms fitted on the outside on one arm with a bolt 15 intended to be inserted from above into a keep 13 and fitted on the other. arm inside the latter of a hook bolt 14 which can penetrate from below into a strike 13. On one of the two arms of the L-shaped iron is fixed a stacking pin 9 projected outwards.

A rear upper fitting is made (cf.

fig. 4) by an L-shaped iron 17 with equal arms fitted on each side, towards the outside, with a bolt 15 intended to be introduced from above into a keep 13. On each arm of the L-iron is arranged a tenon stacking 9 projected outwards.

Chains can hold the upper fittings to the side walls.

   The operation is as follows:
To assemble the mesh frame, the lower frame 2 is placed on the pallet 1, to which the lower fittings 8 are secured on the four tops. The two axes 10 of the side wall 5 and of the rear wall 4 are presented in front of the openings. 12 corresponding. The pins 10 are made to penetrate through the openings 12 in the spaces 1 1 so that the mesh wall is retained below, however folding. The same is done for the three walls.

The three walls are then connected together by the en.

Hardware box 7. This is obtained by inserting each bolt 15 into the corresponding keeper 13.

The fittings 6 are then fixed on the upper front top of the walls S. The fixing is effected by the introduction of each bolt 15 into the corresponding keeper 13.

A complete mesh frame is thus obtained except for the front wall 3 so as to allow loading and unloading (see fig. 1).

Once the frame is loaded, the front wall 3 is mounted and it is fixed to the walls S by inserting each bolt 14 into the corresponding keep 13. To achieve this, the wall 3 is slightly raised, which is possible because it can slide in the space 1 1 of the two irons 18 (see fig. 7) which hold it. It is obvious that there are other ways of mounting and loading, for example with loading from above. A second pallet 1 can then be superimposed (see fig. 5) which rests on the stacking tenons 9 of the upper fittings 6 and 7 of the underlying frame. On the pallet 1 a second frame 2 is placed on which a second mesh cage is built in the manner already described. And so on.

To allow the wall 3 to be removed or folded down when stacking several pallets, the wall in question must have a height slightly less than the height of the walls 4 and 5. Note that it would be possible to make the wall also openable. rear 4, making it the same height as the wall 3 and replacing the fittings 7 with fittings 6.

For empty storage and for empty return to the sender, the fittings 6 and 7 are released from the walls and the wall 3 is first folded and then the others inwards. This is made possible by the fact that the pins 10 are free to slide in the spaces 11. A second pallet is placed on the stacking tenons 9 of the lower fittings 8 above the closed mesh cage. And so on.

As we can see, the mesh cage has entire walls that can be folded up, both inwards and outwards. The walls can be very easily dismantled and removed.

It is possible to superimpose several cages on top of each other and to have at least one wall during stacking.

The empty transport of the superimposed elements is easy and does not present any risk of damaging the mesh walls that we have with conventional cages.

The mesh frames according to the invention can easily be used with other bases as a replacement for a conventional pallet.
