EMI4.4
weitere kationische Gruppen enthalten, z. B.

Man erhält gelbe, wasserlösliche Kristalle.
I -(2'-Däthylamino)-äthyl-2-keto-3-pyridiniumchlorid-4methyl-6-hydroxy-1,2-dihydropyridin

Process for the preparation of basic sulfonic acid groups
Azo compounds
The invention relates to the preparation of new sulfonic acid group-free basic azo dyes with a dioxypyridine coupling component, in which the cationic N atom is bonded directly to the 3-position of the pyridone, which are excellent dyes for dyeing, padding and printing of textile material, for example consists of acrylonitrile polymers or acrylonitrile copolymers or contains such.
These azo dyes are of the formula
EMI1.1
wherein D is an optionally substituted aromatic carbocyclic or aromatic heterocyclic radical,
R is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical, R1 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical or a heterocyclic radical or an optionally substituted amino group,
A 4 is an anion equivalent to the dye cation and Kq is a group of the formula
EMI1.2
or
EMI1.3
mean,
where R2 stands for an optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl radical or together with R3 and the adjacent N atom for a heterocycle,
R3 for an optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl radical or together with R2 and the adjacent N atom for a heterocycle,
R4 and R5 each represent a hydrogen atom or identical or different,
optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl radicals, R & and R7 each represent an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical and R8 an optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl radical,
R2 together with R4 and / or
R3 together with R5 and the N atoms adjacent to these substituents, R6 and R7 or Rt, R7 and R8 together with the N's atom can form heterocycles.
Good azo dyes are of the formula
EMI1.4
where R "denotes an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl radical.
Particularly good azo dyes correspond to the formula
EMI2.1
wherein D is an optionally substituted aromatic carbocyclic or aromatic heterocyclic radical,

The new dyes can also be obtained by converting the diazo compound from an amine of the formula (XIV) with an acyl acetic acid ester, e.g. B. with methyl acetoacetate, according to known methods, and the compound thus obtained with an acetic acid amide salt bearing a cationic group, eg. B. pyridinium acetamide chloride, in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. B. in a solvent, preferably in an organic solvent such as methanol, is reacted.
The dyes of the formula (1) or of the formula (VII) can also be prepared with the aid of oxidative coupling or by coupling N-nitroso compounds of heterocyclic amines with a compound of the formula (XV) or
(XVI).
The new dyes are extremely suitable for dyeing or printing textile material which consists of or contains acrylonitrile polymers or copolymers.
They are also used for dyeing or printing synthetic polyamides or synthetic polyesters which are modified by acidic groups. Such polyamides are known, for example, from Belgian patent specification 706 104.
The corresponding polyesters are known from US Pat. No. 3,018,277 or 3,379,723.
In general, it is particularly advantageous to dye in an aqueous, neutral or acidic medium at temperatures of 60 to 100 ° C. or at temperatures above 100 ° C. under pressure. Very level colorations are obtained here even without the use of retarders. Mixed fabrics which contain a proportion of polyacrylonitrile fibers can also be dyed very well.
Those dyes which have good solubility in organic solvents are also suitable for coloring natural substances or natural resin compositions. It has been shown that mixtures of two or more of the new dyes or mixtures with other cationic dyes can also advantageously be used; d. H. they are easy to combine and do not cause catalytic fading.
They are also used to color plastic masses or leather or to color paper.
In particular on acrylonitrile polymers or copolymers, but also on other substrates, level dyeings with good lightfastness and good wetfastnesses are obtained. The high color strength and excellent covering power of the new dyes should be particularly emphasized.
The dyeings obtained with the dyes of the formula (I) have good fastness to washing, perspiration, sublimation, pleating, decatur, ironing, steam, water, seawater, dry cleaning, over-dyeing and solvent fastness; They also have good salt tolerance and are readily soluble, especially in water; In addition, they have good pH stability and fastness to boiling or precooking and reserve natural and synthetic polyamides unless they are modified by acidic groups.
It can be assumed that the dyes with a dihydroxypyridone radical are in a tautomeric state, e.g. B. by the formulas

It is surprising that the dyes of the formulas (I) and (VII), likewise colored on polyacrylonitrile in yellow shades, are significantly stronger in color. Both in the dye (a) and in the dyes of the formulas (I) and (VII), the cationic group is linked directly to a ring.
The intermediate compounds of the formula (XV) or

example 1
9.3 parts of aminobenzene are diazotized in the customary manner in 150 parts of 80% hydrochloric acid. A solution consisting of 25 parts of 2-keto-3-pyridinium chloride-4-methyl-6-hydroxy-1,2-dihydropyridine (prepared by reacting pyridinium chloride acetamide with methyl acetoacetate in methanolic sodium hydroxide solution) and 150 parts is then added dropwise at 0 Parts of water are added and at the same time 100 parts of a 12.5% aqueous sodium acetate solution are added. After coupling, the reaction mass is heated to 40, made mineral acid with hydrochloric acid and then the new dye, present as chloride, is isolated by salting out and filtering off. It can be purified by recrystallization.
When dried and ground, a water-soluble powder is obtained with which polyacrylonitrile fibers can be dyed in very genuine, extremely lightfast yellow tones.
Dyeing process
1 part of the dye of Example 1 is first intimately mixed with 80 parts of dextrin in a ball mill for 48 hours. 1 part of the preparation obtained in this way is made into a paste with 1 part of 406% acetic acid, 400 parts of 60 parts of distilled water are poured over the pulp, while shaking continuously, and the mixture is briefly boiled. It is diluted with 7600 parts of distilled water, 2 parts of glacial acetic acid are added and 100 parts of polyacrylonitrile fabrics are added to the dyebath at 60. The material was previously treated at 60 in a bath of 8,000 parts of water and 2 parts of glacial acetic acid for 10 to 15 minutes.
It is then heated to 100 within 30 minutes, boiled for 1 hour and rinsed. A level yellow dyeing of excellent light fastness and very good wet fastness properties is obtained.
Example 2
14.15 parts of 1-amino-3-chloro-4-methylbenzene are diazotized in a known manner with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite. A solution consisting of 25 parts of 2-keto-3-pyridinium chloride-4-methyl-6-hydroxy-1,2-dihydropyridine (prepared by reacting pyridinium chloride-acetamide with ethyl acetoacetate in isopropanolic sodium hydroxide solution) is added dropwise to the ice-cold diazo solution 200 parts of water.
15 parts of crystallized sodium acetate are then gradually added to the coupling compound. The mixture is stirred at 0-20 and then at a temperature of 40 and hydrochloric acid is added until the mineral acid reaction occurs. The new dye is salted out by adding table salt. It can be purified by recrystallization.
A yellow, water-soluble powder is obtained which dyes polyacrylonitrile fibers in level, lightfast yellow shades.

Example 7
21.9 parts of 3-aminobenzoic acid-3¯dimethylamino-n-propylamide are diazotized at 0 in the usual way.
The hydrochloric acid diazo solution is then added to an ice-cold aqueous, likewise hydrochloric acid solution of 25 parts of 3-pyridinium chloride-2,6-dihydroxy-4-methylpyridine and the pH of the reaction mass is adjusted to 2.5 by adding dropwise an aqueous sodium acetate solution. The resulting dye is then salted by adding sodium chloride and collected on a filter. The dye is a yellow, water-soluble powder that does not polyacrylonitrile ion and dyes wetfast greenish yellow tones.
The following table shows the structure of other dyes as they can be prepared by the process according to the invention. They correspond to the formula

where the symbols D, R, R and Ke have the meanings given in the table.
As the anion At}, those listed in the description come into question.
