Double or multiple nozzle for injection molding machines, especially for processing thermosets and elastomers
The invention relates to a double or multiple nozzle for injection molding machines, in particular for processing thermosets and elastomers, with a transition body which can be fastened to the mass cylinder and has a transition channel.
Such multiple nozzles are used when several molds are filled simultaneously from a single injection cylinder or when several inlets to the mold cavity are necessary for a complex or large piece.
There are known constructions in which each nozzle opening has a special shut-off valve, e.g. B. designed as a needle, is assigned. These shut-off valves must be operated and sealed to the rear, so that a large space requirement and a complication of the construction must be expected.
Furthermore, because of the closure valve, the valve channels between the injection cylinder and the individual nozzle openings must have widenings and corners that cause irregularities in the flow. The position of the individual nozzle openings is fixed, and the entire head of the injection cylinder must be replaced in order to interact with a different shape.
The double or multiple nozzle according to the invention makes it possible to avoid these disadvantages. It is characterized in that the transition channel is widened on the side of the mold by a conical inner surface and that a corresponding conical distribution piece with distribution channels attached to or in it leading to the individual nozzle openings, matching the conical inner surface of the transition channel, on the transition body is attached.
This makes it possible to provide distribution channels with constant cross-sectional transitions and without sharp corners. By changing the conical distribution piece, the position of the individual nozzle openings can be changed as required without having to replace the transition body. The space requirement is minimal, and the transition body can be screwed to the injection cylinder like a normal simple nozzle. Therefore, the normal injection cylinder can also be used.
Special embodiments of the invention result in an easy assembly of the conical distribution piece.
Channels for a cooling liquid, as they are particularly necessary when processing thermosets and elastomers, can be attached in a simple manner.
When the distribution channels open into conically widening injection channels leading to the nozzle openings, the casting residue is torn away with the mold.
In the special case, when the mold filling channels are arranged radially, it is possible to seal the nozzle openings by means of a shut-off ring which is shifted backwards when the nozzle is pressed forward into its working position.
The drawing shows schematically as an example three embodiments of the invention:
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the first embodiment.
FIG. 2 is a section along the line II-II of FIG. 1 with the transition body removed.
3 is a perspective view of the distributor shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
Fig. 4 is a longitudinal section through the second embodiment.
Fig. 5 is a section along the third embodiment of the invention.
The transition body 1 (Fig. 1) is provided with a thread 2 and is screwed to the injection cylinder, not shown, like a normal simple nozzle. On the side of the mold, the transition channel 3 of the transition body 1 is widened by a conical inner surface 4.
A conical distribution piece 5 that fits the conical inner surface 4 is provided with distribution channels 6.
With the help of a pin 7, it is attached to the inner bottom 8 of a sleeve 9 in a rotationally secure manner, which is provided with conically widening injection channels 10 leading to the openings of the shape not shown, into which the distribution channels 6 open. The sleeve 9 is fastened to the transition body 1 by a screw ring 12, which can be rotated in a known manner with the aid of a key, and the distribution piece 5 is thus pressed against the conical inner surface 4.
A supply line 14 for the cooling liquid leads to the channels 15 and an annular channel 16 in the upper body 1, which is provided with seals 17 on both sides. From the annular channel 16, a channel 20 in the sleeve 9 leads to a cavity 8 of the distributor 5 and from there via a channel 22 to the drain line 23 for the used cooling liquid.
The product to be processed, e.g. B. a thermoset comes from the injection cylinder, not shown, in the transition body 1. It is kept at a sufficiently low temperature by the cooling liquid circulating in the channel system between the supply line 14 and the discharge line 23 so that it cannot harden and remains sufficiently liquid to to be able to continue to be used. However, this viscosity is high enough to prevent it from flowing out of the injection channel 10 by itself. Before the injection process, the injection cylinder is moved to the left until the sleeve 9 abuts the front of the mold (not shown) and the injection channels 10 are connected to the openings in the mold.
Then the injection pressure is exerted in the injection cylinder, and the material flows from the injection cylinder through the transition channel 3, the distribution channels 6, the injection channels 10 and the mold openings into the mold cavity or the mold cavities in multiple molds until the mold filling process ends is. As a result of the contact of the sleeve 9 with the warm mold, material in the injection channels 10 can harden and solidify. When the injection unit is withdrawn to the right, this solidified material remains hanging on the mold thanks to the conically widening shape of the injection channels 10 and is removed there when the piece is ejected. Thus, the injection channels 10 remain free for the supply of the material for casting the next piece.
In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the distribution channels 6 are attached to the surface of a conical distribution piece 31 which matches the conical inner surface 4 and is provided with a fastening flange 32. The injection channels 10 are attached to special nozzle bodies 33 which are screwed onto the fastening flange 32 as an extension of the distribution channels 6. The conical distribution piece 5 is attached to the transition body by 1 by screws 34.
The supply line 14 for the cooling liquid is connected to a jacket 35 fixedly attached to the transition body 1 and opens, through channels not shown, into interconnected annular channels 36, 37. An annular channel 38 is attached to the conical distributor 31, one wall of which is through a plate 39 is formed, which is fastened to the conical distribution piece 31 by a screw 40.
The annular channel 38 is connected by channels, not shown, on the one hand to the annular channel 37 for the cooling liquid and on the other hand to the drain line 23 for the used cooling liquid.
This somewhat more complex construction makes it possible to arrange the openings of the mold at a greater distance, the function being the same as in the first embodiment.
In the third embodiment (FIG. 5) the conical distribution piece 51 is attached to the enlarged conical inner surface 4 of the transition body 1 with the aid of screws 52. This time, the distribution channels 53 are attached inside the distribution piece 51.
They run diagonally first and then radially. It is thus possible to act on mold openings which are arranged radially in a ring. In the position shown, the distribution channels 53 are blocked by an axially displaceable shut-off ring 55 which is secured against rotation by a pin 56. The pin 56 is guided through a longitudinal groove 57 on the transition body 1. Several springs 59 supported on a shoulder 58 of the transitional body 1 press the shut-off ring 55 to the left. This shut-off ring 55 is provided with radial injection channels 60.
Before the injection, the injection cylinder, not shown, is moved to the left. The shut-off ring 55 reaches a fixed part of the mold or the machine and, as the injection cylinder continues to move, is shifted to the right against the force of the springs 59 until the radial injection channels 60 create the transition between the distribution channels and the mold openings . The material can be injected. The cooling is similar to that of the two previous embodiments.
It would also be possible, in further variants, not shown, to replace the axial movement of the shut-off ring 55 with a rotating or helical movement.
