Geschoss
Fig. 1 den Längsschnit eines Geschosses mit Beschleunigungsvorrichtung;
bullet
The invention relates to a projectile with an acceleration device which has a cylinder housing in which an axially displaceable, sealing piston is arranged, which rests on the projectile via a piston rod and with a propellant charge in the cylinder housing to accelerate the projectile via piston and piston rod.
When launching projectiles with acceleration devices of this known type, the acceleration device is first inserted into a launching device. The bullet is then placed on the accelerator. Only then can the projectile be fired by actuating a trigger mechanism on the firing device. The next shot must be prepared in the same way. This results in a rather cumbersome handling with each shot and the achievable cadence will be correspondingly low.
The object which is achieved by the invention is to avoid this disadvantage. The invention is characterized in that the piston rod attached to the projectile is connected to the cylinder housing via a predetermined breaking point, which connection is released when the projectile is accelerated.
A projectile is already known in which the acceleration device is connected to the projectile; In this case, however, the connection between the two parts cannot be released. Since the cylinder housing of the acceleration device is necessarily a relatively thick-walled and heavy pressure vessel that holds the gases of the propulsive charge, the projectile range is reduced when the projectile is fired with the permanently attached acceleration device and, in addition, because of the generally unfavorable center of gravity, poor stability of the floor.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown. Show it:
1 shows the longitudinal section of a projectile with an accelerating device;
Fig. 2 shows a detail of the acceleration device after the projectile has been fired;
A cylindrical jacket is screwed to a cup-shaped base piece 2 and together with it forms a projectile body 3. The projectile body 3 contains an explosive charge 4 and has a detonator 5 at its tip Approach on. An axially directed blind hole 7 is machined into the end of the rod 6.
A rear body 8 of the projectile, referred to below as the tail pipe, consists essentially of three thin-walled pipe pieces and is directed coaxially to the projectile axis. The middle part 9 surrounds the rod 6 and is separated from it by an annular space. The front part 10 is screwed to the base piece 2 and connected to the middle part 0 by a conical connecting piece 11. The short, rear part 12 has the same diameter as the jacket 1 and a further conical connecting piece 13 forms the transition to the central part 9. Holes 14 are provided in the connecting piece 13, which are evenly distributed around the circumference in a row. The parts 12, 13 of the tail tube 8 thus form a ring tail.
A sleeve 15 has a continuous, cylindrical bore. The bottom of a sleeve 16 screwed into the sleeve 15 from the front is pierced through the center. The bore 17 is bordered at the rear by a sharp, an annular cutting edge forming, right-angled edge 18 be. A cup-shaped screw body 19 inserted into the sleeve 15 from behind is supported with a flange 20 on the rear end face of the sleeve 15 and forms the rear end of the same. A sleeve 22 pressed into a cylindrical interior 21 of the screw body 19 contains a propellant charge 23 consisting, for example, of black powder. Two holes 24 penetrating the bottom of the screw body 19 open into the interior 21. The screw body 19 is closed by a sleeve 25 screwed to it, which contains a primer 27 in a central bore 26.
A bore 28 penetrating the bottom of the liner 25 forms the spatial connection between the bore 26 and the combustion chamber containing the propellant charge 23. The primer cap 27 is backed by a disk 29 which is screwed to the sleeve 25 and has a bore 30 which is coaxial to the sleeve axis. The rear end faces of the screw body 19, the sleeve 25 and the washer 29 lie in the same plane. The sleeve 15, together with the screw body 19, the parts 25 and 29 connected to it, and with the bush 16, the cylinder housing 31.
A spacer sleeve 32 is pressed onto the screw body 19 and supports a piston 33 which is arranged displaceably in the sleeve 15. The piston 33, which is made of a material that has a lower strength than the sleeve 16 of the cylinder housing 31, has a cavity 34 which is open towards the spacer sleeve 32 and is conical in the front part. A sealing ring 35 is inserted into an annular groove of the piston 33 . The piston 33 has a shoulder 36 formed by the stump of a cone with a small opening angle. The extension 36 is limited by an end face 37 directed perpendicular to the piston axis, the diameter of which is smaller than the diameter of the bore 17 of the sleeve 16. The rear diameter of the extension 36 corresponding to the inner diameter of the annular surface 43 of the piston 33 is greater than the diameter the bore 17 of the sleeve 16.
The tip of the piston attachment 36 is formed by a cylindrical pin 38 projecting forward from this surface 37.
The middle part 9 of the tail pipe 8 of the projectile is pushed over the front part of the cylinder housing 31. The rod 6 protrudes with little play through the bore 17 of the sleeve 16 into the cylinder housing 31. The rod 6 is supported by the surface 37 on the piston shoulder 36, the pin 38 dipping into the blind hole 7 of the rod 6 and centering it with respect to the cylinder housing 31. A pin 39 fastened in the sleeve 15 and penetrating the wall of the sleeve 16 engages in the rod 6, with which the projectile is connected to the cylinder housing 31 and forms a transport unit with the latter, the piston 33 and the propellant charge 23.
The mode of operation results from the structure:
For firing, the projectile together with the acceleration device composed of the cylinder housing 31, the piston 33 and the propellant charge 23 is pushed with the tail first into a tube 40 of a grenade launcher, indicated by dash-dotted lines in the drawing, and dropped. During the fall, the bullet jacket 1 and the rear end of the tail tube 8 serve as a guide. When the screw body 19 impacts a surface 41 of the bottom of the tube 40, the rounded tip of a striker 42 protruding from this surface 41 penetrates into the bore 30 of the disk 29 and hits the primer 27.
The brass sleeve of the same is not pierced, but only dented locally, so that there is still no connection between the combustion chamber containing the propellant charge 23 and the free atmosphere. The primer contained in the primer 27 is ignited by the striker 42, and the propellant 23 through the bore 28 by the primer. After the sleeve 22 has been locally punched through by the gas pressure, the gas forming in the combustion chamber flows through the two openings 24 of the screw body 19 into the space enclosed by the sleeve 15 and the piston 33.
Under the effect of the pressure now building up in this space, which is less than the pressure in the combustion space, the screw body 19 connected to the sleeve 15 is pressed against the bottom of the tube 40. An equally large, oppositely directed force also loads the piston 33 and the rod 6 of the projectile. When the force has reached a certain level, the pin 39 is sheared in two. The projectile is then no longer connected to the cylinder housing 31, so that it is accelerated by the piston 33, which is now moving, and moves forward in relation to the stationary cylinder housing 31, ie. H. in the pipe 40 upwards, moved. The piston 33 pushes the air in front of it between the rod 6 and the bore 17 of the sleeve 16 out of the cylinder housing 31.
The piston shoulder 36 penetrates into the bore 17 of the sleeve 16 at the end of the piston stroke. The bore edge 18 cuts into the shoulder 36 after it comes into contact with the latter. The edge 18 acts because the rake angle measured between the rear end surface of the sleeve 16 and the normal to the surface of the boss 36 is negative, scraping, i.e. H. the chips loosened away by the edge 18 are squeezed. As a result of the conicity of the projection 36, the depth of cut becomes increasingly larger as the movement of the piston 33 progresses, so that the cutting force exerted by this increases from the moment the piston projection 36 contacts the sleeve 16-. During the cutting process, however, the piston attachment 36 is also loaded by a radial force which generates a frictional force between it and the sleeve 16.
As a result of the cutting and frictional forces acting on the sleeve 16, the movement impulse of the piston 33 is transmitted to the cylinder housing 31. The piston 33 thus comes to a standstill with respect to the cylinder housing 31, that is to say not suddenly and only after having covered a small additional distance after contacting the sleeve 16. The surface 43 of the stationary piston 33 has a small distance from the rear end surface of the sleeve 16 (Fig. 2).
Before the piston 33 is braked, the projectile has reached the highest speed. When the braking effect begins, the rod 6 separates from the piston 33 and the projectile moves further through the tube 40 and out of it.
The gas forces which load the cylinder housing 31 in opposite directions when the piston 33 is stationary are equal and cancel each other out. So there is then no longer any external force resulting from the gas acting on the cylinder housing 31.
The masses of cylinder housing 31 and piston 33 are coordinated so that the movement impulse given to cylinder housing 31 by piston 33 is so great that it moves out of tube 40 and falls to the ground a few meters in front of it. The gases enclosed in the cylinder housing 31 only escape very slowly through leaks, e.g. Threaded connections, so that no noise such as hissing or whistling occurs and no smoke can be observed.
