Flow valve for liquids or gases The invention relates to a flow valve for liquids or gases. The purpose is to create a valve that is easy to manufacture and use. The valve should be particularly suitable for remote control. Furthermore, the valve should seal tightly without the use of stuffing boxes, and only small forces should be necessary for actuating the valve. The valve should also be largely insensitive to foreign bodies, so that: if a foreign body is deposited on the sealing seat of the valve, the valve can be closed tightly.
According to the invention, the valve is characterized by a conical valve cage located inside a valve housing, the wall of which is provided with flow openings, an elastically deformable closing element which is present in the interior of the cage and which can be expanded by a pressure medium and which, when expanded, has openings on the inner cage wall from sealing and which is withdrawn in the unexpanded state into the interior of the basket for the liquid or gas to pass through the openings,
and at least one line opening into the interior of the closing element for supplying and discharging the pressure medium.
The elastically deformable closing element can be applied sealingly to the valve cage by expanding it with low pressure. When the valve is in the open position, the closing element can be very small in the unaüfgeweiteten state, so that the valve z. B. causes no appreciable resistance for a flowing liquid.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown in longitudinal section. In a valve housing 1, which in the direction of arrow 3 z. B. can be flowed through by a liquid, there is a valve cage 4 and a closure member 5. In the upper half of the drawing, the closure member is shown in the expanded state.
The valve cage 4 is conical and faces the valve inlet side with its tapered end. The valve cage is expediently designed as a jacket surface of a truncated cone. The wider end of the truncated cone is seen with a flange 6 ver. With this flange 6 the basket 4 is held in the longitudinal center axis 12 of the housing 1. The man area of the basket 4 is penetrated by several longitudinal slots 7. At the tapered end of the basket 4, a clamping screw 8 serving to clamp the closing member 5 is provided.
The elastically deformable closing element 5 consists of rubber or a rubber-like material and has thickened wall thicknesses 9 and 10 at both ends. In the unexpanded state, the closing organ has an almost constant distance 11 from the longitudinal center axis 12 of the valve. In the expanded state, the closing element rests against the inner wall of the basket 4.
In the unexpanded state the closing element is rod-shaped and in the expanded state pear-shaped.
At the wider end of the. Basket 4 is a sealing yoke 13, which either has individual radial, sterneiför shaped arms or is provided in the radial part with several openings so that, for. B. a liquid flowing through the valve through the slots 7 and through the openings of the yoke 13 to a flange th line 2 can flow. These openings in the yoke 13 are not shown. The valve housing 1, the flange 6 of the basket 4, the yoke 13 and the line 2 are connected to one another over the circumference by several screws and are in sealing contact with one another. The basket 4, the closing element 5 and a connection piece 14 of the yoke 13 are held centrally in the longitudinal axis of the valve housing 1.
Through the yoke 13 and the connecting piece 14, an inflow and outflow line 15 leads to the inflow and outflow of a pressure medium into the interior of the closure member 5. The expansion of the closure member 5 can, for. B. by compressed air, pressurized water or pressurized oil.
One end of the closing element 5 is fastened to the connecting piece 14 and the other thickened end 9 of the closing element 5 is held firmly on the cage 4 by means of the screw 8.
Instead of the longitudinal slots 7, individual holes penetrating the basket wall, e.g. B. form several rows of holes, be available.
The valve inlet side is only through the longitudinal slots 7 of the basket 4 and the unsealed, edible openings in the yoke 13 with the line 2 in connection. If a pressure medium is passed through the line 15 into the interior of the closing element 5, this is widened and is sealingly placed on the outside of the basket wall.
The valve is thus closed and a flow through the housing 1 is interrupted. The valve basket surface can be dimensioned very favorably in relation to the cross-sectional area of the longitudinal slots 7, so that the valve can be closed with only a low pressure inside the closure member 5.
There are so many longitudinal slots 7 on the basket that the entire flow cross-section of the longitudinal slots 7 is larger than the cross-sectional area of the valve housing 1, so that when the valve is open, the longitudinal slots 7 do not have any throttling point, e.g. B. represent for a liquid. To open the valve, only the pressure medium is allowed to flow out of the interior of the closing element 5 via the line 15.
By operating the valve by means of a pressure medium, the valve can be operated particularly easily by remote control. There is therefore no need for an expensive and complex control linkage. With a low pressure of the medium to be conducted into the interior of the closing element, the valve can be closed securely in a sealing manner. No disadvantageous stuffing box is used in the valve, and when the valve is open, the closing element 5, due to its small spatial dimension, provides e.g. B. against a flowing liquid through the valve only an insignificant resistance.
If a foreign body has deposited on the inner wall of the basket or on the outside of the closing element 5, it can be embedded by the elastically flexible closing element during expansion, so that the valve closes in a sealing manner despite this.
