Method and device for repositioning composite rivets
When making compost from garbage, you build heaps on a compost field with the pre-shredded material. Their height is up to 4 m and more. In such a pile, aerobic fermentation takes place, which converts the material into compost, killing all pathogenic germs. This aerobic fermentation develops heat. After a certain time, the rent has to be reallocated in order to achieve a balance between the warmer inner and the better ventilated outer parts.
The aerobic fermentation continues afterwards and further shifts are made as necessary.
Up until now, a shovel loader had mostly been used for relocating. This was driven to the rental and transported the material to a new rental, which required a lot of maneuvering and a large amount of space. Furthermore, there was no guarantee of the quality of the mixing because it was easily possible for the material removed from the shovel and the surface of the first pile to be put back together on the surface of the new pile.
The invention provides means to avoid these disadvantages. It relates to a method for shifting compost heaps, which is characterized in that the top layer of one side of the pile is scraped off and thrown over the top of the pile to the other side.
The operation can be repeated until the entire rent has been shifted, then you have the guarantee that the product is completely mixed.
The invention also relates to an apparatus for practicing this method. This is characterized in that, for scraping off the layer, a chain conveyor with scraping elements which is inclined corresponding to the slope of the pile is arranged on a support that can be moved along the pile.
It is advantageous to arrange the movable support on a gangway. An automatic control system with elements known per se can thus be used and the manpower required for operating a shovel loader is no longer necessary.
The support can be arranged to be pivotable about a vertical axis, so that it is possible to reallocate the windrows in different directions.
The arrangement of the axes of the sprockets can be at right angles to the side of the pile to be scraped off, so that a favorable load of the chain conveyor is achieved, which can work in both directions of movement of the bridge.
The drawing shows schematically as an example the principle of the method according to the invention and two embodiments of the device according to the invention.
FIG. 1 is a side view taken on part of the line I-I of FIG. 3.
Fig. 2 shows the chain conveyor on a larger scale from below in the direction of arrow II.
FIG. 3 is, on a smaller scale, the floor plan of the composting field of FIG. 1.
Figure 4 is a plan view of another embodiment of the composting field.
On the composting field (Fig. 1, 3) the windrows 1, 2 are at a distance from one another. A gangway 3 can be moved on rails 4 in the longitudinal direction of the windrows 1, 2. A trolley 5 is displaceable along the gangway 3 and carries a support 7 which can be pivoted about a vertical axis 6. The support 7 carries an adjustable chain conveyor 11 (FIGS. 1, 2), dessert chain wheels 12, 13 which is inclined to correspond to the slope of the pile 1 are driven by a known reversible drive, not shown.
The axes 14, 15 of the chain wheels 12, 13 are arranged at right angles to the side of the pile 1 to be scraped off. The conveyor chain 16 rotating around the sprockets 12, 13 is provided with scraper elements 17. The upper support plate 18 of the chain conveyor extends beyond the area of the projection of the conveyor chain 16.
To shift the pile 1, the gangway 3 is moved outside the area of the pile 1 and the chain conveyor 11 is moved along the gangway 3 until its position corresponds to that of the upper layer 21 of the pile 1. The gangway 3 is moved along the pile 1 and the chain conveyor 11 scrapes off the layer 21 and throws it over the top of the pile 1 to the other side, where it forms a new layer 31. When the gangway 3 has reached the other side of the composting field, the chain conveyor 11 is moved forward until its position corresponds to that of the now upper layer 22 of the slightly offset pile 1, and when the gangway 3 returns, the chain conveyor rotating in the other direction scratches 11 removes the layer 22 and throws it over the top of the pile 1 to the other side, where it forms a new layer 32.
The operation is repeated until the entire pile 1 has been shifted and moved into its new layer 41.
The support plate 18 ensures good guidance of the goods. The upper layers are well ventilated because it usually takes several hours to pass the gangway.
One could also have brought rent 2 to position 41 if support 7 had been pivoted around 1800.
In the composting field according to FIG. 4, the gangway 53 is arranged around a fixed pivot point 54, which in a simple manner guides the gangway 53 safely.
The device according to the invention is particularly advantageous in the case where a gangway with a continuous conveyor is already provided for distributing the new shredded material on the composting field. When using a chain trough conveyor, you can get by with a single outlet at a fixed location, or at least with a limited number of them. For example, after shifting the pile 51 (FIG. 4) in the direction of the center 54 of the composting field, the space is free again to fill up fresh material.
