Pneumatic tube station for the optional sending, receiving or letting through of pneumatic tube boxes
The main patent relates to a pneumatic tube station for optionally sending, receiving or letting pneumatic tube boxes pass through, preferably for use on smaller pneumatic tube systems. A tightly closable housing is used at this station, through which the driving tube is passed, which is provided with an opening for letting out and inserting the cans. The housing can be opened in order to place a can to be sent into the pipe opening or to be able to remove a can which emerges from the same and which is to be received at this station.
According to the patent claim of the main patent, the driving tube has a curve between the entry and exit into or out of the housing and the opening is located in the curved tube section, which can be closed by a cover. If a pneumatic tube carrier is to be received at this station, the cover can be moved away from the opening by means provided for this purpose, so that the curve of the pneumatic tube carrier does not experience any continuation in the adjoining tube part and exits into the housing from which it can be removed. If the can is to pass the station, this cover can remain closed.
When sending a can from the station, the cover can be moved away, the can inserted and then the cover moved over the opening again, whereupon the can enter the outgoing part of the running tube.
Even in the case of smaller pneumatic tube systems, there is often the desire to have a pneumatic tube can optionally enter from one tube system into another at which the desired receiving station is located. In the case of the station according to the main patent, this was only possible because the pneumatic mail box received z. B. is removed by hand from the housing and is transferred to another system via the dispatch point for onward transport. According to the present invention, this treatment of the pneumatic tube carrier by hand, in order to transfer it from one system to another, can be avoided in that the housing is provided with a downward-facing funnel into which the bushing for forwarding into the connected tube of a branching off Pipe system can get.
With larger pneumatic tube systems, the pneumatic tube; station for a switch system by arranging several housings for a curved section of track with a closable opening one behind the other on the track. This switch system can be preceded by a bushing separator and target identification scanning device, which then ensures the automatic control of the lids of the individual tube bends in order to allow the respective pneumatic tube carrier to enter the tube system assigned to its destination.
The drawings serve to explain the invention, of which FIG. 1 shows a pneumatic tube station with one and FIG. 2 shows one with a combination of several sending, receiving and transit points.
The running tube 1 has a recess 2 in a curved section. The tube enters the housing 6 before this section at 3 and leaves it behind the curved part at 4. The cover covering the cutout is not shown, since this is not necessary for understanding the invention.
The housing 6 opens into a funnel 12, at the outlet of which the travel pipe of the branching pipe system is connected. The funnel 12 points downward, so that the pneumatic tube carriers emerging from the recess 2 can fall into it in order to change their direction.
Fig. 2 shows an arrangement with three pneumatic tube stations on a vertical travel tube, two of which points to the right and one to the left. Here, too, the lids for covering the recesses are not shown, but it can be seen that the pneumatic tube carrier enters a branching tube from the housing, the lid of which is open if those of the preceding station are closed.
As a result of the measure of the invention, it is also possible to connect smaller systems to a larger one or to connect several similar systems to one another, with automatic controls also being able to be used.
