Adjustable gas burner, in particular for gas lighters The invention relates to an adjustable gas burner, in particular for gas lighters, with an extinguishing cap and an ignition device that becomes effective when the same is lifted off.
Known gas burners of this type are designed in such a way that the fuel is released immediately after lifting the extinguishing cap. As the fuel escapes before the ignition starts, atomization can occur at the nozzle opening, which can result in an explosive ignition when a spark is cast.
The present invention sets itself the task of eliminating this unpleasant phenomenon by equipping the gas burner with an automatic device that inevitably delays the escape of the fuel when the extinguishing cap is lifted, for example so that it occurs shortly before or optionally together with the spark . The gas burner according to the invention is characterized in that an opening device, which becomes effective when the extinguishing cap is lifted, is installed in the burner, through which the fuel outlet channel is released with a delay when the extinguishing cap is lifted off.
With this configuration, an adjustable gas burner is realized which, without the use of additional parts arranged outside the burner, prevents the fuel from flowing out prematurely and thus excludes explosive ignition.
An exemplary embodiment of the gas burner according to the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
The gas is admitted from the fuel tank, not shown, via the opening 3 of the holding piece 1, which is firmly connected to the lighter housing, not shown. Through the cavity 15 and the thread 2, 6 provided with a sealing profile, the fuel in the gaseous state is cyclone-like over the cone-shaped upwards The narrowed relaxation space 15 'is supplied to a special rubber filter element 14, which serves to regulate the amount of fuel that has passed through. The conical relaxation space 15 'is formed by the tubular intermediate piece 5, which at the same time also forms the inner delimitation of the cavity 15 and, by means of the seal 4, prevents fuel from escaping to the outside.
In the upper part of the tubular intermediate piece 5, a thread 7 with a small pitch is attached, into which the regulating insert 8 with a mating thread 9 and a rimmed collar 10 is screwed. The amount of fuel flowing out upward is regulated by more or less forcefully pressing the center piece 12, which is connected to the regulating insert 8 by means of a press fit, with the turned piston 12 'onto the filter rubber element 14. The regulating insert 8 is held by a compression spring 11 upwards in a constant rest position, which is only changed when the adjusting ring 10 is turned and thus ensures a constant flame height even when the extinguishing cap is lifted with a certain pressure.
The center piece 12 has a recess 13 at the bottom for receiving the sealing ring 13 'and a conical valve seat 16 at the top. The movable arrangement of the valve piston 19 with sealing rubber 20 and cross-shaped through slots 19' in the guide tube 17 releases the outlet channel 22 'when the extinguishing cap, not shown, automatically controlled in such a way that premature fuel escape is prevented.
This delay effect is achieved by the fact that after the extinguishing cap, which is in normal condition at the tip of the nozzle head 22, is lifted, the guide tube 17 first moves upwards by the spring 18 and the valve piston 19 only moves upwards after the driver A of the guide tube 17 hits the counter surface B of the Valve piston 19 is lifted off the valve seat 16. The spring 21 holds the valve piston 19 firmly on the valve seat 16 until its force is overcome by the force of the spring 18, which acts on the valve piston 19 via the driver A.
By changing the distance X between the driver A and the mating surface B on the valve piston 19, the time at which the outlet channel 22 opens can be determined in such a way that the fuel can flow out of the nozzle head 22 as desired, i.e. at the same time

with or a short time before the ignition spark occurs, which inevitably occurs shortly after the extinguishing cap is lifted off.
The gas burner described has the following advantages, among others: 1. The delay in the escape of the fuel takes place automatically when the extinguishing cap is lifted off.
2. The duration of the delay can be set precisely.
3. All parts of the delay and opening device are built into the inside of the burner so that they cannot be damaged and are not subject to contamination or wear and tear from outside.
4. Furthermore, it is very difficult for the user to dismantle the burner and, as a result, for improper adjustment.
