The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of glass-coated superfine wire from a metal alloy,
In which, with the help of high-frequency currents from an inductor, a balanced amount of metal alloy is melted from a wire made of the alloy by levitation melting in a glass tube, and the metal melt and the glass melted at the end of the tube are made of fine wire in the form of a cooled glass capillary complete metal filling is pulled out.
The known processes for the production of fine cast wire are carried out with randomly selected .Ausgangsstof fen, both for the metal alloy: as well as for the glass tubes.
A disadvantage of this method is that it is practically impossible to repeat casting processes, where this is prevented by increasing the quality of the fine cast wire.
It is the aim of the present invention to provide such a method for the production of fine cast iron wire from metal alloy which ensures an increase in the fine cast iron wire quality.
The object is achieved in that the bottom end of the glass tube is shaped before it is introduced into the melting zone of the inductor so that it can absorb the balanced amount of metal in the form of a drop, and that after the tube is treated in a degreasing solution and the metal alloy is subjected to a heat treatment in vacuum before melting.
For the casting of fine wire, glass tubes of a certain viscosity, for example made of borosilicate glass, are used. When pulling out the fine wire, the consumption of a balanced amount of metal is expediently monitored, with the size of the wasted consumption being predetermined.
In this way it is avoided that extremely fine wire of poor quality is wound onto the spool. After each use of the balanced amount of metal alloy, the metal alloy is preferably introduced into the drop through the glass tube from the end opposite the bottom.
The fine wire that is discarded due to the resistance temperature coefficient is expediently subjected to a heat treatment.
For a better understanding, the invention is explained in more detail in an embodiment with reference to the drawing, in which the production of glass-coated fine wire is shown schematically.
The lower end 8 of a glass tube 2 is arranged in the opening cone of an inductor 1, which usually consists of a hollow winding through which cooling liquid flows and is fed by a high-frequency generator. In the glass tube 2 protrudes a piece of wire 3 made of the metal alloy from which the fine wire is to be cast, for.
B. from Menganin. From this piece of wire 3 a balanced weighed amount is melted with the help of the high frequency currents of the inductor, d. H. an amount which, together with the weight of the glass tube, corresponds to the lifting force of the inductor.
The liquid, weighed amount of metal 4 is located in the bottom part 8 of the glass tube 2, the lowermost tip of which melts when the inductor is in operation. From this tip of the glass-coated fine wire 6 is withdrawn in a known manner and wound up on a rotating coil 7. Immediately under the inductor 1, fine wire that has been pulled off or still soft is sprayed with a crystallization liquid S and cooled.
Before inserting a glass tube, its bottom end 8 is shaped so that it can hold the balanced amount of metal in the form of a drop with the tip pointing downwards. This pot-shaped cavity ensures that contact between the glass and the molten metal is ensured at its tip.
After the deformation, the glass tube is degreased by treating it with a degreasing solution, and so is the supply wire 3 from the. The desired metal alloy is subjected to a heat treatment in a vacuum prior to melting, whereby gas inclusions contained in the supply wire are eliminated.
In the production of fine cast iron, such gas inclusions often lead to wire breaks in the glass capillary, to the detachment of the glass jacket from the metal wire and to various changes in the electrical properties of the fine wire. These and other defects in the finished fine wire are also caused by uneven conditions under which these complicated physico-chemical processes,
including the formation of oxides and silicates in metal droplets (in the presence of glass) under the action of the high-frequency magnetic field.
For this reason, under otherwise identical conditions, the heat treatment of the alloys to be used in a vacuum, provided in the described process, determines the course of the physico-chemical transformations in the balanced amount of metal, and consequently also the process of manufacturing fine wire and its electrical Characteristics.
In particular, the degreased supply wire is kept in a vacuum of 1.10-4-5.10-n Torr during two hours at a temperature of 500 C. This heat treatment of the supply wire in a vacuum: guarantees a casting process that runs continuously for a long enough time in the production of fine wire and prevents the metal thread that forms in the glass capillary from tearing off.
These two measures help to reduce the time required to adjust the pouring process. Glass tubes, for example made of borosilicate glass, are used to cast fine wire.

<tb> 11-12 <SEP> 8.15-9.55 <SEP> C-IX <SEP> XI According to Table 2, the weight of each glass tube group of a given glass brand is at a certain opening angle that determines the lifting force of the inductor Inductor cone related.
Example: In the case of tube group B-VIII-X for medium-resistance glass, the weight corresponds to a length of 100 mm, which is 6.96-7.86 g, an inductor with an opening angle of the cone of 80.
When casting very fine wire, glass tubes with a weight of 0.5-1.0 g / cm and an inductor with an opening angle of the cone of 60-100 are used. A change in the weight of the tube by <B> 50% </B> corresponds to a change in the opening angle of the cone of 10.
The method described makes it possible to manufacture an extremely fine wire with specified properties. For this <I> purpose </I> the length unit contradiction of the fine wire is corrected during the casting process.
This correction is made by automatically changing the operating data during casting, for example the speeds of the fine wire holder and the glass tube feed, the position of the drop made of a balanced amount of metal in relation to the inductor by generating an overpressure above the drop, the gap between the drop and the inductor, the drop temperature u. a.
Every glass brand has a certain toughness so that a fine wire with a given length unit resistance can be obtained, which allows fine wire with a length unit resistance within a certain range to be produced (see Table 3).

In order to improve the fine wire quality (the temperature coefficient of resistance and the taper of the fine wire thread over the length), the predetermined consumption of metal removed from the balanced amount is monitored.
This check is carried out along the length of the fine wire pulled out of the metal drop with a given length unit resistance, which is automatically monitored and corrected (see Tab. 4).

According to Table 4, 700 m of high-quality fine wire with a unit length resistance of 5000 Q / m are made from a drop. the balanced amount of metal generated, taking into account the metal consumption.
In order to reduce the time it takes to regulate the process after every balanced amount of metal has been used, the metal alloy is passed through the glass tube from the side opposite the bottom into the end of the drop without destroying it.
The melting time of a droplet doss must correspond to the permissible length of the fine wire produced for a given value of the unit length resistance (see table 5).

Example: According to Table 5, when producing ultra-fine wire with a unit length resistance of 5000 D / m and a length of 400 m, the melting time of the dropper dose is. of 41 is required.
In contrast to the known methods in which the fine cast wire is discarded and not used if the characteristic values of the resistance temperature coefficient do not correspond to the desired values, the method described provides for the further processing of the discarded fine wire quantity.
This processing is continued until the finest turning reaches certain parameters. For this purpose, the discarded fine wire is subjected to a heat treatment at a temperature of 250 <B> 5 '</B> C and a pressure of 10 Torr over the course of 4 hours.
As a result of this heat treatment, instead of a fine wire with the same resistance temperature coefficient of 5.10-5 1 / C, a fine wire with a resistance temperature coefficient of 3.10-5 1 / C and instead of a coefficient of 3.10-5 1 / C a coefficient of 1.5 .10-5 1 / C.
