Method and device for removing the wrapping from container packages
Empty containers, such as B. bottles are usually sent to the consumer in boxes or cartons. As a result, the boxes or cartons must first be sent to the container manufacturer, and then the container to the consumer. This is an expensive process because the boxes or cartons are expensive and the cost of transporting the empty boxes from the box maker to the container maker must also be borne. In order to reduce these costs, the containers, which are arranged side by side in rows, can be wrapped in such a way that they form a cuboid package.
This parallelepiped package can be a bag with a parallelepiped shape, with a wall being closed after the bag has been filled with the desired number of containers. The material of the envelope can be paper, corrugated cardboard, cardboard, light metal foil, plastic, cloth or another suitable material. In this case, the wrapping material to be transported to the container manufacturer is cheap and takes up only a small amount of space.
When containers wrapped in this manner arrive at the consumer, the wrapper is usually torn open by hand and the containers are then removed from the wrapper. This process is inconvenient and time consuming.
The object of the invention is, in order to avoid these disadvantages, to provide a method for removing the envelope from the containers in a simple manner.
The method according to the invention can be applied to bottles, cans, cans, provided that these containers have a thickened peripheral part with which they can be temporarily supported by means of suitable support parts.
The method according to the invention for removing the cover from container packages is characterized in that the cover is cut open on at least three sides of the package, the top of the cover cut open in this way is bent upwards and elongated support elements are inserted between the containers and under their thickened peripheral parts after which the envelope is removed from the containers thus supported by the elongate support members.
The device for carrying out the mentioned method, which is also the subject of the invention, is characterized by two conveyor devices arranged at right angles to one another, one of which conveys the package to the intersection of the two conveyor devices and delivers it to the second conveyor device, two cutting elements arranged on the first conveyor device for generating horizontal cuts in two opposite sides of the envelope when the package runs past these cutting elements, a third cutting element arranged on the second conveyor device for creating a horizontal cut in a third side of the envelope when the package passes the third cutting element, a bending element on the second conveyor device for bending up the top the envelope opened in this way,
Support elements arranged above the second conveyor device for holding the containers and devices on the second conveyor device for removing the envelope from the containers held by the carrier elements.
In an advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention, one or more vertical cutting elements are provided, each of which produces a cut starting from the bottom of the casing and extending up to the cuts that expediently run parallel to the bottom. Any such cut may facilitate the insertion of a member intended to push the cover away from the containers, and permit easier removal of the cover from the containers.
In the following, the method according to the invention is described and explained in more detail, for example, with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows an embodiment of the device according to the invention:
Fig. 1 shows schematically a complete device according to the invention.
FIG. 2 shows the mode of operation of the device according to FIG. 1.
FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of a cutting element of the device according to FIG. 1.
Figures 4 and 5 show the operation of the support element and the means for removing the envelope.
Figures 6, 7 and 8 show various stages in the slicing of a casing.
The device according to FIG. 1 has a first conveyor 1 on which a package of bottles 2 is transported in the direction of the arrow 3, and also a second conveyor 9 which is perpendicular to the conveyor 1 and on which the package with the direction indicated by the arrow 10 indicated movement direction is moved; In addition, a third conveyor 11 is provided, which is perpendicular to the conveyor 9 and on which the packages are transported in the direction of movement shown by the arrow 12. These För dereinrichtungen can for example consist of endless conveyor belts. These conveyor belts should preferably be synchronized in such a way that a continuous run results.
Instead of this, the conveying devices can also consist of stationary, smooth surfaces on which the packages are advanced by pushers (not shown). The side walls of the packets are in the same direction during the entire operation, i. H. the package is not twisted when it is delivered from one conveyor to the next.
A part 13 is provided on the conveying device 9 which carries two arms 14 and 15 which extend inward from the carrying part 13. Two knives 16 and 17 are attached to these arms. These knives are shown in detail in FIG. 3, namely FIG. 3 shows the knife 17 on the right. Such a knife consists of a metal plate, the two edges 18 and 19 of which extend at right angles to one another. The hypotenuse of this triangle has a sharp edge 21. This edge does not run over the entire length of this hypotenuse, but rather leaves a part 23 free which extends from the tip 22 and does not have a sharp edge. The cutting element 17 is mounted in the carrier 13 in such a way that its flat surface runs parallel to the bottom surface of the conveyor 9, while its side 18 is parallel to the direction of movement of the conveyor 9.
The knives 16 and 17 are mounted in relation to the package 2 at such a height that the thickened peripheral part 25 of the bottles 24 is higher than the knife 17. The distance between the parallel edges 18 of the two knives 16 and 17 is slightly less than the width of the package 2.
A knife 26, which is similar to the knife 16 and is fastened to one of the elongated support elements 27, is attached to the conveying device 11.
Above the conveyor 11 there is a number of elongated, mutually parallel parts 27, which are clearly shown in FIGS.
These parts 27 have a mutual spacing which is equal to the width of the neck of the bottles 24 and is smaller than the outer diameter of the thickened peripheral part 25 of the bottles. As a result, a bottle inserted from the left side, in the viewing direction according to FIG. 1, between two of these elongated parts is supported hanging by these parts. One of the elongated parts, s. Reference numeral 28 carries a rod 29 which is shaped so that, as will be described below, it bends part of the envelope.
A vertical knife 31 is attached to one of the elongated parts 27 (reference number 30). This knife is also triangular in shape and has a sharp edge 32. A sharp edge is also provided on the part of the side 33 adjacent to the tip 34. Below the elongated parts 27 there is an area 35 in which no conveying device is provided. A rectangular plate 36 is movable in the vertical direction above this area, so that it serves as a push member. The plate is movable in an opening 37 in the elongated part 30, which is one of the elongated parts indicated as a whole by 27. The rectangular plate 37 may have teeth on its lower edge.
The device described above operates as follows: For the sake of clarity, FIG. 1 shows only one bottle package 2. This package 2 contains bottles 24 which, as FIG. 5 shows, are arranged in rows.
When the package 2 is moved forward on the conveyor 9 in the direction of the arrow 10, the front of the package runs against the tips 22 of the knives 16 and 17.
The tips 22 penetrate the package, and the edge 21 of the knife 17 and the corresponding edge of the knife 16 produce longitudinal cuts 40 and 41 in the longitudinal side surfaces 38, 39 of the package 2 during the movement of the package 2 onto the conveyor 11.
During the transport of the package on the conveyor 11 in the direction of the arrow 12, the knife 26 produces a longitudinal cut 42 in the side wall 43. At the same time, the elongated parts 27 penetrate the package 2 and grasp the bottles. Part 29 is shaped to bend over top 44 of the enclosure.
At the same time, the knife 31 comes into play and produces a cut 45 in the wall 39, which starts from the bottom 46 of the package 2 and runs up to the cut 41. During the continued movement of the package, a cut 47 is also produced in the wall surface 47, which lies opposite the wall surface 39, and runs from the bottom 46 of the package 2 up to the cut 40. The cuts 45 and 47 are required to enable the plate 36 to be inserted into the package 2, as shown in Figure 5, and to enable the wrapper to be removed from the bottles. When the package is in the position shown in FIG. 5, the wrapping can be removed by vertically moving the plate 36 in the direction of arrow 48.
As already mentioned above, the lower edge of this plate has teeth to prevent the package 2 from sliding off the plate 36 during the downward movement of the plate in the opening 35 of the conveyor. The plate moves as much as is necessary to completely remove the envelope 2 from the bottles. Instead of the plate 36, compressed air acting in the direction of the arrow 48 can also be used; a suction device for removing the envelope 2 from the bottles 24 can also be provided in the opening 35.
Obviously, the knife 31 can be omitted when the plate 36 is raised high so that an opened envelope can be moved under the lower edge of the plate.
The device shown can with two attached to the upper part of the holder 13 auxiliary elements 49 u. 50 be provided. The auxiliary elements are elongated in shape and run parallel to the conveying direction of the conveyor device 9. They are attached to the holder 13 in such a position that each of these auxiliary elements lies between two rows of bottles. As a result, the two auxiliary elements press the upper part of the envelope between two rows of bottles. As a result, the side surfaces of the casing, which run parallel to the conveying direction, are stretched and tightened, whereby the work of the knives 16 and 17 is facilitated.
The auxiliary elements 50 shown can be replaced by rollers which roll on the upper side of the envelope and press this upper side downwards.
Obviously, the individual parts of the device can be modified to a very great extent within the scope of the invention. As already mentioned above, the essence of the invention is that first two cuts 40 and 41 and then a third cut 42 are produced in the casing 2, the upper part 44 is raised, and then the bottles in the elongated parts 27 to be hung. After this has been done, the casing 2 can be removed from the bottles in any desired manner. Within the scope of the invention, the third cut can be placed in the upper side 44 such that it runs between the two cuts 40 and 41.
If the top is bent then it becomes two
Flaps, instead of the one flap in the procedure described, generated.
The package may contain two or more layers of bottles or cans, one layer on top of the other. For this purpose, a number of support elements is required which is equal to the number of individual layers. These support elements must then lie on top of each other at a corresponding distance.
After the bottles have been freed from their wrapping in the manner described, they can be used in a known manner by a conveyor for further use, e.g. B. a washing station, one
Filling station and the like., Are supplied.
