Fig. 2 der.
Container and method of making the container
The present invention relates to a container for dispensing successive pieces of predetermined length from a web of sheet-like material packaged therein, which is provided at intervals with transverse tear lines, each of which has a centrally located slit, and a method for producing the container.
It is the object of the invention to provide a container in which a prefabricated sheet-like endless material packed therein can easily be dispensed in predetermined lengths in a winding, zigzag or other folding form. The container should be economical to manufacture, easy to assemble, and strong enough for normal handling until the contents are exhausted. The container should allow the successive, easy removal of predetermined lengths of the material packaged therein and ensure its automatic separation from the supply.
The container should also be usable for plastic films that are flat or prefabricated into closed, bag-like containers that sit end to end together
The invention also includes a method of making the container.
The container according to the invention is described in several embodiments together with the method according to the invention for its production with the aid of the accompanying drawing. Show it :
1 shows a plan view of a blank of a sheet-like material, such as cardboard or the like, which, when erected, results in an output container according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a partial plan view of an embodiment of a continuous, sheet-like material which is particularly suitable for dispensing from the container according to the invention.
3 shows a perspective representation of part of a roll of a sheet-like material forming a web when it is pulled out of the container according to FIG. 1.
4 shows, in a perspective illustration similar to FIG. 3, a predetermined length of material after it has been pulled out of the container into the disconnected position,
Fig. 5 is a cross section along line 5-5 of Fig. 3,
6 is a perspective view of a modified form of the dispensing container, the lid of which is partially open, and FIG
7 to 9 show, in perspective, further modified forms of the dispensing container according to the invention.
1 explains how a container C for dispensing predetermined longitudinal pieces of a wound or folded sheet-like material forming a web is obtained from a blank of suitable sheet-like material, such as cardboard or the like, by aligning it.
In the finished container, the parts 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the blank form the front wall 10 or the bottom 11 or the rear wall 12 or the top wall or the lid 13, with suitable scoring or bending lines being provided between the parts. The free edge of the lid 13 is provided with a flap 14, which in turn has a reinforcing strip 15 of shorter length, which can be attached to the lower surface of the flap by means of adhesive or in another way, the protruding corners of the flap, as at 14a , are rounded for easy closing and opening of the container.
End walls 16 are seated on the bottom 11, each of which has a head strap 17 at the head end. Each end wall 16 is also provided with a front wall tab 18 which, when the container is erected, is attached to the inner surface of the front wall 10 with adhesive or in some other way. Each front derwandlasche 18 is provided at the top with an upwardly extending nose 18b, the purpose of which is described in more detail below. For easy assembly, suitable scoring or bending lines are provided between the end walls 16, the adjoining base 11 and the associated tabs 17 and 18.
End wall tabs 19 sit on rear wall 12 and are attached to the inner surface of adjoining end wall 16 when the container is erected by means of adhesive or in some other way, with scoring or bending lines being provided between rear wall 12 and end wall tabs.
For easy assembly and better fit, slots 18a can be provided between the front wall tabs 18 and the adjoining edges of the front wall 10 when punching or otherwise producing the container blank. Similar slots 19a can also be provided between the end wall tab 19 and the adjoining edge of the end wall 16.
For similar reasons, notches can be provided at the two ends of the scoring or bending line between the cover 13 and the cover flap 14, as in 14b.
The upper "free" edge of the front wall 10 is provided with a locking lug 20. This nose is expediently arranged in the middle and on both of them by removing or cutting away the material of the front wall. Pages, as at 21, formed. The recesses expediently extend along the upper edge of the front wall and end shortly before its outer parts to form nose or guide parts 22, the shape of which is complementary to that of the nose parts 186 of the front wall tabs 18.
With the erected container, in which each front wall flap 18 on the overlying part of the front wall; 10 is set, each nose 18b abuts the associated nose or guide part 2 and solidifies it.
Fig. 2 of the. The drawing shows a material suitable for packaging in and output from the container described above. Such a material can, as mentioned, be a plastic film in a sachet-like or other form. According to a preferred embodiment, the material is formed by a tubular film F made of thermoplastic, in which two walls were formed by laying flat and which, as in S, has been crossed across to form an endless chain of bag-like containers seated end to end .
With an even distance between successive seals, the containers are identical in terms of length or size, but this is not a critical dimensioning, and a chain of bags with bags of different sizes can also be produced.
Adjacent to each transverse seal S, a tear or tear line is provided, which is expediently formed by spaced perforation lines 23, which each extend inward from the edge of the film and are united by a central slit or cut 24, the perforations and the slit on top of each other both in both film walls are provided. When separating the tubular film F along the next tear or parting line, which is directly adjacent to another transverse seam, a bag-like container with a bottom closed by the transverse sealing of the free outer part is obtained, the other end of which is opened by the separation process.
A suitable foil pack F for use in the container according to the invention can be obtained by winding the foil on a core 25 (as shown in Fig. 5) or by repeatedly folding the material in a zigzag manner, the exact nature of the arrangement in the container being of secondary importance It is important and it is only necessary to present the material in such a way that it is available for easy dispensing through the dispensing opening of the container.
The operation of the output container described above is particularly easy. The cover 13 is put on and the material to be removed is pulled slightly outwards at the free edge, and the cover is closed again, with the front flap 14 extending downward between the free material and the remaining supply (can be seen especially in FIG. 5) ; the material is now in the output position and rests on the upper edges of the Füh tion parts 22 and the locking lug 20 (Fig. 3).
When the material is pulled out further, the locking nose 20 engages in the cut or slot 24, as a result of which the forward movement of the material is suddenly inhibited and the material as such comes to rest on the recess edges 21 on each side of the slot 24 (FIG. 4). .
The exertion of a continued pressure on the material leads to the automatic separation along the perforation lines 23. In this way, individual containers can be separated from a chain of bag-like containers one after the other in the desired manner.
The slot or cut 24 is expediently somewhat longer than the centrally arranged locking lug 20.
To further support the easy engagement between nose and slot, the nose can be tapered at the side ends (as in 20a).
During the separation, the material is slightly distorted, as a result of which the material adopts an outwardly directed, angled course along each perforation line 23, and in this way is prevented from falling back into the container. The material of the roll (or other packaged material) thus remains within reach for grasping for pulling off and severing the next length of the packaging material.
The dispensing container of the modified embodiment according to FIG. 6 is provided with a front wall 30 ′ and a cover 31 1, while the other wall parts are essentially identical to those of the container according to FIGS. 1 to 5 and are therefore not discussed in more detail here. The front wall 30 is provided at the top with a centrally arranged locking nose 32 and with guide end parts 33, the recesses 34 lying between the nose and the guide parts.
The lid 31 is provided with a front flap 35 and end flaps 36 which, when the lid is in the closed position, grip over the front wall 30 and the end walls of the container. The front cover is provided at the bottom with a centrally arranged locking nose 37, which is complementary to nose 32 of the front wall and is obtained by removing or cutting out the front cover on both sides of nose 37 (as at 38); the recesses are somewhat curved and end shortly before the ends of the front cover, the guide parts 39 remaining.
To dispense the packaged material, the lid is lifted and the free end of the packaged material is pulled out and down so that it is over; the front wall 30 lies, the material resting on the upper edges of the locking lug 32 2 and the guide lugs 33. The lid is now closed. When the material is pulled off further, the locking lug 32 of the front wall and then the complementary lug 37 of the cover flap 35 engage in the slot located centrally on the dividing line.
By applying continued pressure, the automatic separation of a predetermined length of material is obtained, the separating ends of the supply being held in a position in which they can be easily grasped, so that the above-described process can be repeated again after a new length - piece has passed the locking lug 32.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 7 to 9, the removal opening is located centrally in the cover or in another longitudinal wall. For example, the opening is provided in the cover in the case of the container according to FIG. 7, which has a front wall 40, a cover 41 and stern walls 42, for example. The cover has the longitudinal slot 43, which has a considerable width and! is provided with a centrally arranged locking lug 45 at one edge 44.
In this embodiment, one only needs to pull the material to be removed through the slot 43 and guide it towards the edge of the slot 44 and against the nose 45. The further pulling out leads to the entry of the nose into the slot in the dividing line, and one can separate successive longitudinal pieces with particular ease.
The container according to FIG. 8 has a front wall 50, a lid 51 and end walls 52. The cover is provided with the longitudinal slot 53, which has a considerable {width. Both edges 54 of this removal slot are each provided with an arcuate locking lug 55. The noses butt against each other and have complementary, adjacent edges.
In this container, the material drawn out through the slot 53 is in frictional engagement with the corresponding locking lugs 55 until the prefabricated dividing line is reached. When the dividing line is reached, the opposing noses spread the slot in the material web apart. and enter into it, the forward movement of the material being interrupted and the separation being obtained automatically when a continued tension is exerted on the longitudinal piece to be separated.
In the container embodiment according to FIG. 9, a front wall 60, a lid 61 and end walls 62 are provided. The cover is provided with a longitudinal slot 63 of considerable width, the rear edge 64 of which has a centrally arranged locking lug 65. A front flap 66 is also seated on the cover and is provided with locking lugs 67 which cooperate with slots 68 in the front wall and thereby keep the cover closed.
At the top of the front wall 60, on the other hand, sits a rearwardly directed head tab 69, which is provided on the free edge with a centrally arranged locking lug 70, which lies under the locking lug 65 of the lid and is shaped complementary to it, and with guide end lugs 71, whereby of the. Structure corresponds to that of the upper edge of the front derwand in the embodiment of FIGS.
The opposing lugs 70 and 65 grip the material pulled out through the removal opening 63 with friction until the dividing line is reached. When the parting line is reached, first the nose 70 and then the nose 64 enter the slot in the material web, whereupon the automatic separation of the piece of material takes place immediately.
The invention is explained above with reference to the new output container, from which you can see predetermined lengths of the surface material under to be achieved by hand, separation, a transversely sealed thermoplastic film is used as a sheet material to form separable bags. However, the use of the container according to the invention is not restricted to such a material, but other foils, paper or other materials in single or multi-layer form or in other prefabricated ones can also be used with the same ease. Pack and remove molds.
