Description
Fig. 4 einen Schnitt nach Linie IV-IV in Fig. 2.
Shearing device for cutting a web of material
In packaging machines on which objects are wrapped with packaging material that is drawn off a supply roll and cut into suitable sections, scissors are mostly used, the blades of which are connected in the usual way at one end by a hinge. If the material webs to be cut through are relatively wide and consequently the blades have a corresponding length, the outer ends of these blades have to carry out a relatively large stroke. As a result, large inertia forces occur, which often prevent the machine from increasing the operating speed.
The aim of the invention is to remedy this disadvantage and to create a shearing device for cutting up a material web, in particular a paper or plastic web, which has small inertial forces even at high cutting capacities.
The invention is characterized in that it has a cylindrical hollow body, the wall of which has two opposing recesses for the material web, of which at least one recess has an inner edge designed as a cutting edge, and that a mandrel is rotatably mounted inside the hollow body, the at least one Has cutting edge which cooperates with the cutting edge of the hollow body in the event of a relative rotation between the hollow body and the mandrel.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a view of the cutting device in the assembled state,
FIG. 2 is a section along line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the individual parts of the device and
FIG. 4 shows a section along line IV-IV in FIG. 2.
The shearing device has a cylindrical hollow body 1, which is rotatably mounted on a mandrel 2 at two bearing points 3, 4. The mandrel 2 is rigidly attached to the only indicated machine frame 5, for example a packaging machine.
The hollow body 1 has two recesses 6 and 7 through which the web of material 8 to be cut (FIG. 2) is guided by means of special guides, not shown. The mandrel 2 is semicircular in cross section in the region of the recesses 6, 7. It has a cutting edge 2 a (FIG. 2), while the hollow body bears the counter cutting edge 1 a, which is arranged on the inner edge of the recess 7. The two cutting edges 1 a, 2 a are guided past one another by pivoting the hollow body 1 in the direction of the arrow (FIG. 2), thereby cutting through the material web. The pivoting of the hollow body takes place, for example, by an eccentric (not shown) or the like, which acts via a rod on a pin 9 which is fastened to a lever 10 of the hollow body.
At the two bearings 3 and 4, brass segments 11 are arranged on the mandrel 2, which are pressed against the inner wall of the hollow body 1 by helical springs 12 to compensate for the bearing play. In order to achieve a certain twisting of the two cutting edges la, 2a, which is necessary for a clean cut, the mandrel 2 in the bearing 4 has a slightly smaller radius, so that its axis 13 opposite the axis 14 of the hollow body under the action of sprung segment 11 is slightly offset, as shown in FIG. The hollow body 1 is thus mounted somewhat eccentrically at the outer bearing point 4 with respect to the mandrel 2, whereby the necessary set of the cutting edges is achieved.
In the illustrated embodiment of the scissors, the cutting edge 2a runs parallel to the axis of the scissors, while the cutting edge la on the hollow body 1 runs slightly helically.
Of course, the conditions could just as well be chosen the other way round. However, it is also conceivable for both cutting edges to have the shape of a helix, with these differing in terms of their pitch.
