Sicherheitsgurt Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung ist ein Sicher heitsgurt, insbesondere für Automobile, der dehnbare Bänder aufweist, die an ihren Enden mit Befesti gungsorganen versehen sind, wobei an wenigstens einem Ende ein Band dadurch mit :dem Befestigungs organ verbunden ist, dass es durch eine Öffnung des letzteren verläuft und gegen den benachbarten Band teil anliegend mit .demselben vernäht ist.
Es hat sich nun in der Praxis gezeigt, dass bei Sicherheitsgurten .der oben ,erwähnten Art die die er wähnten Bandteile verbindende Naht eine Schwä chung der Gurte bewirkt, die sich bei Kollisionen nachteilig auswirkt. Durch Versuche konnte festge stellt werden, dass der die Nähte aufweisende Band teil .schon unter wesentlich geringeren Beanspruchun gen reisst als die übrigen Bandteile. In gewissen Fäl len führt die Beanspruchung des Bandes und die dar aus resultierende Dehnung zum Reissen der Naht, welche sich hin und her quer über das Band erstreckt.
In anderen Fällen, wo die Längsteile der Naht enger aneinander liegen, riss die Naht nicht selbst, aber die durch das Nähen bewirkte Schwächung des Bandes führte zu einem Reissen der vernähten Bandteile.
Die erwähnten Nachteile können nun gemäss vor liegender Erfindung dadurch vermieden werden, dass die miteinander vernähten Bandteile eine wesentlich geringere Dehnbarkeit aufweisen als die übrigen Bandteile.
In der beiliegenden Zeichnung ist eine beispiels weise Ausführungsform des Erfindungsgegenstandes dargestellt und zwar zeigt: Fig. 1 das .eine Ende eines ,Sicherheitsgurtes, und Fig. 2 einen Längsschnitt nach der Linie II-II der Fig. 1.
In der Zeichnung bezeichnet 1 ein dehnbares Band, das an seinem Ende mit einem Befestigungsor- gan 2 versehen ist, mit welchem der Gurt ,an einem Teil des Fahrzeuges befestigt werden kann. Das Ende 4 des Bandes ist durch den Schlitz 3 des Befesti- gungsorganes 2 hindurchgeführt und liegt .gegen den benachbarten Teil 5 des Bandes an.
Die Teile 4 und 5 ,des Bandes sind durch eine Naht 6 miteinander ver bunden, welche dadurch gebildet worden ist, dass in der Längsrichtung des Bandes, beginnend in der Nähe des einen Randes hin und her .genäht worden ist, wobei die Naht sich allmählich dem anderen Rand nähert. Das die Teile 4 und 5 aufweisende Band ende ist wesentlich weniger dehnbar als. die restli chen Bandteile.
Dies kann beispielsweise dadurch erreicht werden, dass das fragliche Bandende vor der Verbindung .mit dem Befestigungsorgan f und somit vor dem Anbringen der Naht 6 so stark gestreckt wird, dass nachher keine nennenswerte Dehnung mehr möglich ist. Die fraglichen Bandenden können natürlich schon während der Herstellung unmittelbar weniger stark dehnbar .gemacht werden. Die Dehn barkeit der Enden kann bis zu 50 % der Dehnbarkeit des mittleren Bandteiles .betragen.
Safety belt The subject of the present invention is a safety belt, especially for automobiles, which has elastic bands which are provided at their ends with fastening organs, wherein at least one end of a band is connected to: the fastening organ that it is through an opening of the the latter runs and partially lying against the adjacent band with .dem same is sewn.
It has now been shown in practice that in seat belts of the type mentioned above, the seam connecting the belt parts mentioned causes a weakening of the belts, which is detrimental in the event of collisions. Experiments have shown that the tape with the seams partially tears under significantly less stress than the other tape parts. In certain cases, the stress on the tape and the resulting elongation cause the seam to tear, which extends back and forth across the tape.
In other cases, where the lengthways parts of the seam are closer together, the seam did not tear itself, but the weakening of the tape caused by the sewing caused the sewn parts of the tape to tear.
The disadvantages mentioned can now be avoided according to the present invention in that the tape parts sewn together have a significantly lower elasticity than the remaining tape parts.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: FIG. 1 shows the one end of a seat belt, and FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section along the line II-II of FIG.
In the drawing, 1 denotes a stretchable band which is provided at its end with a fastening member 2 with which the belt can be fastened to a part of the vehicle. The end 4 of the band is passed through the slot 3 of the fastening element 2 and rests against the adjacent part 5 of the band.
The parts 4 and 5 of the tape are connected to one another by a seam 6 which has been formed by sewing back and forth in the longitudinal direction of the tape, starting near the one edge, the seam gradually closing approaching the other edge. The end of the parts 4 and 5 having the tape is much less stretchable than. the rest of the band.
This can be achieved, for example, in that the end of the tape in question is stretched so much before the connection with the fastening element f and thus before the seam 6 is attached that no appreciable stretching is possible afterwards. The tape ends in question can of course already be made less extensible during manufacture. The elasticity of the ends can be up to 50% of the elasticity of the middle part of the band.
