Bath battery inverter The present invention relates to a bath battery inverter, comprising a movable part which can occupy with respect to a fixed part a first position in which the water is sent into the bathtub and a second position in which the water is sent to the shower.
Reversers are already known comprising a movable part capable of moving axially in a fixed part in order to change from one of these two positions to the other. The drawback of known inverters is due to the fact that the moving part and the fixed part, both metallic, can take a temperature much higher than the ambient temperature when the coil delivers hot water, and expand in such a way. so that the moving part seizes up in the fixed part, which prevents any movement of the moving part as long as the battery temperature remains high.
We have therefore sought a construction which avoids this drawback and allows the movement of the moving part at any temperature that the battery can take.
The reverser forming the subject of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises an elastic member arranged between the movable part and the fixed part so as to allow the movement of the movable part from one position to another. without rubbing against the fixed part, at any temperature that these parts can reach, said member ensuring the seal between them.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the inverter which is the subject of the invention. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a battery comprising this embodiment, and FIG. 2 is a cut along 2-2. of fig. 1 and shows said embodiment in section. The battery shown comprises a body 1 in the form of T. At one end of the horizontal branch of the body is mounted a hot water tap 2 which, when open, allows hot water from a pipe to pass through. not shown in a chamber 3 inside the body 1 of the battery.
At the other end of the horizontal branch is also mounted a cold water tap 4 which, when open, allows the cold water supplied by a pipe 5 to the chamber 3. The body 1 of the bat terie has a chamber 6 communicating by a connector 7 with a flexible pipe not shown terminated by a shower head, and a chamber 8 communicating through a passage 9 with the interior of a pipe 10 leading the water into a bathtub. Bedroom 6 can communicate with bedroom 3 as we will see below.
A bath-shower diverter 11 is mounted in the chambers 6 and 8 of the body 1 and comprises a fixed sleeve 12 which is screwed by a thread 13 into the body 1 of the battery so that a flange 14 of the sleeve rests against a seat formed on the body. Annular seals 15 and 16 provide the seal between the sleeve and the body. The sleeve 12 has a first cylindrical bore 17 and a second cylindrical bore 18 and of larger diameter than the bore 17 forming at the lower end of the sleeve a chamber 19. Four openings 20 drilled in the wall of the sleeve form. communicating the chamber 19 of the socket with the chamber 8 of the body.
In the sleeve 12 is mounted a movable rod 21, the diameter of which is such that this rod can slide without friction in the bore 17 of the sleeve. This rod carries at its lower end a valve 22 which, in the axial position of the rod 21 shown in solid lines, rests against a seat formed in the chamber 3 of the body and cuts off the communication between this chamber 3 and the bedroom 6.
At its upper part, the rod 21 carries a control handle 23 which allows the rod 21 to be moved axially in the position shown in phantom lines in which the valve 22 rests against the lower end of the sleeve 12 and closes thus the chamber 19 of this sleeve, which ensures communication between the chambers 3 and 6. The rod 21 has two grooves in each of which is mounted an annular seal 24 which rubs against the wall of the bore 17 of the sleeve. so as to allow the axial displacement of the rod 21 in this bore while ensuring the seal between the rod and the sleeve.
The play between the rod 21 and the wall of the bore 17 of the sleeve is sufficient for the rod 21 to slide in this bore at any temperature that these organs may take, even if the battery only debit from the Hot water.
In the position of the rod 21 shown in solid lines, the chamber 3 of the body communicates with the chamber 19 of the socket and the latter communicates through the openings 20 with the chamber 8, so that the water brought into the socket. bedroom 3 by an open net robi at least passes through passage 9 in duct 10 and falls into the bathtub. In the position of the rod 21 shown in phantom, the water supplied to the chamber 3 passes directly into the chamber 6 of the body and, through the connector 7, is sent to the shower.
