Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach Linie III-III in Fig. 2.
Device for closing filled and evacuated bags
The invention relates to a device for closing filled and evacuated bags made of thermoplastic material by means of a pair of jaws with at least one heated jaw, which is arranged in evacuable containers. They be intended to make such a device suitable for installation in the conveyor track of a known metering and packaging machine, which is used, for example, for fully automatic filling and packaging of coffee in so-called vacuum packs.
The invention is characterized in that the evacuable containers are arranged on a table, open at the bottom, vertically displaceable and sealable with respect to the table hoods, that the jaws are arranged on a vertically adjustable carrier in the table, with one jaw rigid and the the other jaw is attached to the carrier so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis, that a vertically displaceable rod is also provided which is in drive connection with the pivotable jaw, the whole thing for the purpose of the jaws being adjustable to the height of the bags by moving the carrier and rod together and by moving to make the rod adjustable in relation to the carrier in and out of the welding position.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 is a plan view of an automatic dosing and packaging machine of a known type with a device according to the invention for closing filled and evacuated packs,
2 shows a partial section through the table of the device with one of the hoods and the welding jaws for closing the bags, and
3 shows a section along line III-III in FIG. 2.
In the packaging machine of known type shown in Fig. 1, the material for a bag, for. B. is supplied with a thermoplastic coating paper and formed over the mandrel 2 of a mandrel wheel 3 rotating stepwise to form a tube. Between the stations 1 and 4, one end of the hose 5 is folded to a base and welded. At station 4, the material for an outer bag or cardboard box can be applied to the inner bag.
This blank is then also formed into a tube and its bottom is closed. In this way, a single or double bag with an open top can be produced, depending on requirements. The individual bags 6 are then withdrawn at 5 from the thorns 2, set up and fed to a dosing and filling system 7, in which they z. B. be filled with roasted coffee. In the area of the conveyor track 8, the open-topped bags are partially closed by means of heated welding jaws by welding a transverse seam so that a 1-2 cm long opening remains in the middle of the transverse seam through which the air in the bags can be sucked off.
The bags 6 moved on the conveyor track 8 in the direction of the arrow are then picked up by a clamping wheel 9 and fed onto a step-by-step or continuously rotating table 10 to a device for evacuating and closing the packs 6, which carries a number of vacuum hoods 11. 2 shows a section through one of these hoods 11. The hermetically sealed packs 6 are then taken over by a second clamping wheel 12 from the table 10 and fed to the conveyor track 13, in the area of which the now closed transverse seam of the bag is turned over and the flaps that stand out folded to the finished pack. The finished packages are then fed to the discharge belt 14.
The subject matter of the invention merely includes the design of the device arranged on the turntable 11 for closing the evacuated bags (FIGS. 2 and 3). In the turntable 10, a rod 15 is mounted so as to be vertically displaceable. A holder 16, which is connected to a cover 17 in an airtight manner, is attached to this. The parts 16 and 17 together form a hood 11, which is open at the bottom and carries a seal 18 at the lower edge, so that it is sealed against the table when it is lowered onto the table 10 according to FIG. In this position of the hood 11, the air located in its interior can be sucked off by means of a vacuum pump through a line (not shown).
Two retaining clips 19 are arranged inside the hood 11 (cf. FIG. 3), which are intended to hold the packs 6 to be closed. For this purpose, each clamp 19 is arranged on a vertical shaft 20 rotatably mounted in the table 10. This shaft carries on its protruding from the table 10 underside a lever with a roller 22 which cooperates with a control cam 23 which controls the movement of the brackets 19 in a suitable manner GE.
In the table 10, a vertical tube 24 protruding into the hood 11 is also slidably mounted.
This carries at its upper end the jaws 25, 26 intended for welding the bag closure. The jaw 26 is heated, while the jaw 25 is designed as a counterholder with an insert made of a heat-resistant, flexible material such as silicone rubber or the like is. At most, both jaws could also be heated. The jaw 25 is arranged rigidly on the tube 24 and can only be adjusted with this with respect to its height position. The jaw 26, on the other hand, is mounted on the tube 24 so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis 27 and can be pivoted from the welding position shown in solid lines in FIG.
The pivoting movement is given to the jaw 26 by a rod 28 which is arranged displaceably within the tube 24. At its upper end this carries a fork 29 which cooperates with a pin 30 of the welding jaw 26. By vertically adjusting the rod 28, the welding jaw 26 can thus be brought into and out of the working position.
The design of the jaw carrier 24 as a tube in which the rod 28 is guided represents a particularly advantageous structural solution. Of course, the carrier could also be designed as a rod; then, however, special guides would have to be provided for both rods.
The device works as follows:
In the area of the clamping wheel 9, the hood 11 is raised by moving the rod 15 upwards, so that the pair of clamps 19 and the welding jaws 25, 26 are exposed. The jaw 26 is in the open position. The clamp wheel 9 now transfers a package 6 to the clamp pair 19, which is clamped by the clamp pair 19.
The turntable 10 moves in the direction of the arrow (FIG. 1), a new pack 6 being transferred to a pair of clamps 19 of the table 10 with each work cycle of the bag machine. During the rotation of the table 10, the hood 11 is first lowered onto the table. The interior of the hood 11 is then evacuated, as a result of which the air in the pack is sucked off. The position of the welding jaws 25, 26 is now adjusted to the height of the transverse seam 6a of the pack 6 by simultaneously adjusting the tube 24 and rod 28. The rod 28 is then displaced upwards relative to the tube 24 and the welding jaw 26 is thereby pivoted into the welding position.
After the still existing opening in the transverse seam 6a has been welded, the jaw 26 is opened again and the interior of the hood 11 is connected to the outside air for pressure equalization. The hood 11 is then lifted and the clamping wheel 12 (FIG. 1) takes over the closed pack 6 for further processing.
If packs of the same size are always processed, the height position of the welding jaws 25, 26, once set, remains unchanged. With this type of device, however, it is also possible, by automatically scanning the size of the pack, to adjust the welding jaws to the height of the transverse seam by jointly adjusting the tube 24 and rod 28 before each welding process.
