La fig. 1 en est une vue en plan avec coupe par tielle ; la fig. 2 en est une vue de profil, prise en regardant depuis la ligne II-II de la fig. 1, certains détails ayant été supprimés ; la fig. 3 est une vue en coupe transversale sensi blement par la ligne III-III de la fig. 1 ;
Mechanical saw The present invention relates to a portable mechanical saw comprising a bar serving as a support for a cutting chain driven from a motor, this bar projecting from the motor housing to which it is removably linked by the motor. one of its ends, this saw being able to receive, after disassembly and removal of said bar, an arm mounted by one of its ends on the support of said bar and provided at its other end with means for tines to a shaft serving to drive a rotary tool, this bearing shaft, in the vicinity of one end of the hub,
a first pulley intended to receive a drive roie belt passing over a second pulley wedged on the motor shaft.
According to the invention, the saw is characterized in that the rotary tool, consisting of a cutting disc, is fixed on the shaft in the vicinity of the other end of this hub.
According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the arm has gutters for receiving the drive belt, these gutters being formed by wings extending longitudinally to the arm.
The appended drawing illustrates, by way of example, an embodiment of the saw according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view thereof with partial section; fig. 2 is a side view, taken looking from line II-II of FIG. 1, some details having been deleted; fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view substantially along the line III-III of FIG. 1;
fig. 4 is a sectional view, on a larger scale, through the members serving to connect the cutting disc to its shaft; fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view, through a sleeve comprising these members.
An arm 1, having substantially the shape of a beam, is slightly bent to take a longitudinal S-shaped profile, carries at one end a hub 2, which extends transversely with respect to the length of the arm and which is provided with of roller bearings 3 and 4 supporting a shaft 5, the two ends of which project outwardly relative to the hub.
At one end, the shaft 5 carries a cutting disc 6, which is clamped between a flanged hub 7 mounted at the end of the shaft and a collar ring 9 intended to be pressed against the disc by means of 'a nut 8 adapted to the threaded end part of the shaft.
There is provided, between the flanged hub 7 and the shaft 5, a sleeve 11 having an axial gap or slot, housed in a cavity 10 of the end of the shaft, this sleeve being provided with oriented corrugations. axially, as shown in fig. 5. Due to the presence of a gap or a slot and corrugations, this sleeve has radial flexibility and thus provides a friction connection between the shaft 5 and the hub 7.
As a result, this sleeve serves as a torque limiting member and, if the cutting disc becomes stuck, it allows the driven shaft 5 to rotate relative to the flanged hub 7. It is provided, on one side. tie of the cutting disc, a protective cover or casing 12 fixed to the hub 2.
At the opposite end, the shaft 5 carries a pulley 14, which is likewise connected to the shaft by a sleeve 13 for limiting the torque. At the end opposite the hub 2, the shaft 1 has an elongated hole 15 for receiving a fixing screw 16 by which this arm can be attached, in combination with a nut 17, on a support 18 simply indicated. in phantom lines in fig. 1, this support belonging to a portable mechanical saw which, for the rest, is not shown in the drawings.
The support 18 normally carries the saw bar, which is dismantled to allow the adaptation of the arm 1 as shown in fig. 1. A drive belt (not shown in the drawings) runs over pulley 14 set on shaft 5 and over a second pulley set on motor drive shaft.
The arm 1 has two pairs of parallel wings 19, 20 and 21, 22 oriented in opposite directions and forming receiving channels for the drive belt. The pulley 14 is further surrounded by a protective cover or casing 23, which is fixed by means of screws 24 on a radial flange 25, provided on the end of the hub 2 which is oriented towards the pulley 14.
To put the belt under tension before the final locking of the nut 17, there is provided a screw 27 cooperating with an internal thread 26 extending longitudinally to the arm 1, the head of this screw bearing against the support. 18, as shown in fig. 1, a locking nut 28 being likewise fitted to the screw.
