Die Wolle wird anschliessend in dem Apparat mit heissem, dann mit kaltem Wasser gespült. Nach dem Trocknen erhält man eine reine, gleichmässige, farb- starke blaue Färbung von;

Process for producing genuine wool dyeings with copper or nickel phthalocyanine dyes The invention relates to a process for dyeing wool with sulfonated copper or nickel phthalocyanines in uniform, strong, genuine turquoise blue to green tones.
Certain sulfonated copper phthalocyanines are used for coloring. of cellulose in pure, lightfast door shades. Sulfonated phth: alocyans are also useful for dyeing wool. has been proposed. If you use them in the form of their water-soluble alkali salts without further aids for dyeing in acidic liquors, e.g.
B. in the presence of Glauber's salt, the result is very weak, very flaky and therefore completely useless colorations. A significant improvement in the quality of such dyeings is achieved if the dyeing is carried out in the presence of polyglycol ethers which are derived from higher molecular weight fatty alcohols or fatty amines and contain at least 20 or 6 to 10 ethylene oxy groups in the polyglycol ether residue; whereby the condensation products derived from the fatty amines can also be quaternized.
However, these processes still have disadvantages in that, for example, the dyeings produced do not meet all requirements with regard to uniformity, fastness and color strength, or in that the dye liquor smears the apparatus and the dyeings, which is particularly noticeable in cross-bobbin dyeings power.
The French patent specification No. 1242 900 discloses a process for dyeing wool with sulfonated copper phthalocyanines using quaternary nitrogen compounds which contain at least one polyalkyl ether radical and a total of at least three
EMI0001.0050
contain,
known as a dyeing aid.
In the aforementioned known processes, however, the dye precipitates on the fiber, and the dyeings produced therefore do not meet all the requirements with regard to rub fastness and: wet fastness.
It has now been found that, while avoiding the disadvantages mentioned, it is possible to produce excellent and extensive dyeings on wool if the aromatically bound sulfonic acid groups are used in dilute, aqueous solutions of the salts of copper or nickel phthalocyanines contain,
in the presence of quaternary surface-active nitrogen compounds dear formulas
EMI0001.0076
where R is a higher alkyl or alkenyl radical, R 'is a lower alkyl radical or an aromatic alkyl radical and An is an anion of a strong acid and the sum of a1 and a. or a3 and a4 0 to 2 and the sum of X1 and X, or
X3 and X4 is 7 to 30, colors.
The copper phthalocyanines or nickel phthalocyanines which can be used according to the invention advantageously contain an average of 2 to 4 sulfonic acid groups per molecule, namely on the phthalocyanine skeleton and / or on external aromatic radicals, then above all on aryl amide or aryl sulfonate groups. In addition to that, you can use other phthalocyanine dyes:
Tof- fen usual substituents -containing, in the phthalocyanine structure z. B. individual halogens and / or individual, optionally N, substituted sulfonic acid amide groups, and in the external aromatic radicals, for example, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl,
Aryl, ether groups, halogens, nitro, optionally N-substituted carboxylic acid and sulfonic acid amide, acylamino, acyl, arylazo groups of the homo- and heterocyclic series, etc.
You are in the usual way, z. B. obtained by sulphonation of the metal phthalocyanine dye or built up from components, of which at least one contains aromatically bound sulphonic acids, for example from copper or nickel phthalocyanine sulphonic acid chlorides and aminoaryl @ sulphonic acids.
All these dyes are used in the form of their water-soluble salts, especially as alkali metal or ammonium salts.
The quaternary, surface-active nitrogen compounds are based, for example, on amines with 8 to 20 carbon atoms, those with 7 to 30 moles, preferably 10 to 30 moles, of ethylene oxide and with one mole of styrene oxide and optionally with 1 to 2 moles of propylene oxide to 1 Mo! 1 amine and with one mole of ester of a lower alkanal with a strong acid as alkylation or
Aralkylation agents, for example with dimethyl sulfate, diethyl sulfate, ethyl chloride or bromide, p-toluenesulfonic acid, methyl or ethyl ester, benzyl chloride, chlorobenzyl chloride, dichlorobonzyl chloride,
Chlorine or bromoacetic acid or methyl propionate or ethyl ester have been reacted. Possible amines are: octylamine, decylamine, dodecylamine, tetradecylamine and their mixtures, hexadecylamine, octadecylamine, oleylamine and their mixtures, dodecylbenzylamino,
Nonylphernoxypropylamine, dodecylphenoxypropylamine, etc., with ol @ eylamine being preferred.
If very long-chain amines or alkylarylamines are used as higher amines, then a longer polyglycolic chain with, for example, 15 to 30 -CH.- CH.7 O groups is advantageous if. on the other hand, shorter-chain higher amines and methylating agents are used,
then a shorter polyglycol ether chain with, for example, 7 to 12 -CH2- CHF 0- groups is advantageous.
The quaternary surface-active nitrogen compounds are advantageously used in amounts of approximately 0.5 g per liter of dye liquor. However, the range of action extends in part from the amount and type of dye used and the composition of the auxiliary means to levels of about 0.1 to 2 g per liter of dye liquor.
In addition to the quaternary compounds mentioned, the dyeing bath can contain the usual auxiliaries used in wool dyeing, for example salts such as sodium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium acetate, acidic alkali metal or ammonium phosphates, esters such as methyl or ethyl lactate or tartrate, or acids such as formic, acetic, hydrochloric, sulfuric acid, etc.
The dyeings are expediently produced in optionally buffered, weakly acidic baths or in dyeing liquors that contain ammonium salts of low volatile acids, for example ammonium sulfate in Gehviten of 3 to 6 g / o of the dyed material, depending on the amount and composition of the dye used.
Particularly beautiful and pure wool dyeings are obtained with dye liquors which contain condensation products of fatty acids with 8 to 14 carbon atoms or of mixtures of such acids with 2 MoQ dialkanolamine per mole of fatty acid present. Fatty acid-dialkanol 'condensation products of this type are described in US Pat. No. 2,089,212.
The quaternary surface-active nitrogen compounds used have a color-intensifying, leveling and improving sweat, wet and rubbing fastness effect at the same time. They also prevent smearing of both the dyeings and the equipment.
Post-treatment of the wool dyeings, known per se, with pH-increasing agents, such as ammonia or hexamethylenetetramine, at 80 to 100.degree. C., and with wetting agents, may improve the wet fastness of wool dyeings produced according to the invention.
The wall dyeings obtained in this way are characterized by their full shade, great evenness, excellent wet fastness and perfect rub fastness.
In the following examples, unless expressly stated otherwise, parts mean parts by weight. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Parts by weight are related to parts by volume as g is to cm--.
Example I In a dyeing apparatus for cheeses, 250 parts of worsted wool are treated for 10 minutes at 50 with a solution of 10 parts of ammonium sulfate and 5 parts of the quaternized nitrogen compound described below in 2800 parts of hard water. After adding a solution of 7 parts of sodium salt
Copper phthalocyanine disulfonic acid in 200 parts of hard water is raised to 100 within 40 minutes and then colored at 100 for a further hour. The wool is then rinsed in the apparatus with hot and then with cold water. After drying, a pure, uniform, strong blue coloration of;
good sweat, rub and wet fastness properties. No colored, greasy coating has formed in the dyeing machine.
If, in this example, instead of the sodium salt of copper phthalocyanine disulfonic acid, 7 parts of backelphthalocyanine trisulfonic acid: s sodium salt or 7 parts of copper phthalocyanine trisulfonic acid sodium salt are used and the rest of the procedure is as described in the example, the result is greener or similar colorations with similar good fastness properties.
The quaternized nitrogen compound used in this example is prepared as follows: 100 parts of oleylamine are dissolved in 300 parts of chlorobenzene. 45 parts of styrene oxide are added dropwise to the solution with stirring. The mixture is then slowly heated to boiling and the solution is kept at the boiling point for a further 4 hours.
Then the chlorobenzene is distilled off in vacuo. The residue, the 2-aleylamino-1-phenylethanol, forms a light yellow oil that gradually solidifies in the cold.
135 parts of this substance are mixed with 50 parts of ethanol, in which 1 part: sodium has been dissolved, and the ethanol is distilled off with thorough stirring. The residue is heated to 120 to 130 parts and ethylene oxide is passed into the melt until the increase in weight is 230 parts.
The reaction product obtained in this way solidifies on cooling to form a light, waxy mass that is clearly soluble in water.
To 75 parts of this: 2-01 @ eylamino-l-phemylethanol polyglycol ethers are added at 70 in about 10 minutes, 9 parts of dimethyl sulfate with cooling and stirring. The mixture is stirred for a further 30 minutes at this temperature, a homogeneous solution arises.
When cooling down, you get all the light, waxy mass, the quaternary ammonium compound, which is clearly soluble in water.
Example 2 0.5 part of sodium, alz the 4.4 ', 4 ", 4"' - copper phthalocyanine tetrasulfonic acid are dissolved in 250 parts of water with the addition of 0.4 part of ammonium sulfate and 0, 2 parts of the quaternary nitrogen compound described below in hot solution.
In this liquor you enter 40 with 10 parts woolen worsted yarn. The temperature is increased within 45 minutes until you reach the end, and it is colored boiling for an hour.
Then the dyed worsted wool is rinsed first with warm, then with cold water. The pure, deep, calm, reddish-tinged blue coloration obtained is very good wet, light and rubfast. The quaternary nitrogen compound used in this example is prepared as follows.
133 parts of the 2r oleylamito-1-phenyl'ethanol described in Example 1 are mixed with 20 parts of propylene oxide after the addition of 1 part of sodium ethylate and the mixture is stirred at 50 to 60 hours.
The mixture is then slowly warmed to 70 to 80 until no more propylene oxide condenses in the reflux. This is followed by a short time on 140 bis. 150 heated.
The temperature is then allowed to fall and at 100 to 120 302 parts of ethylene oxide are introduced into the mixture. The corresponding polyglycol ether is obtained as a light, wax-like mass.
52 parts of the condensation product thus obtained are mixed with 5 parts of dimethyl sulfate and stirred at 70 to 80 for half an hour. The waxy quaternized product is clearly soluble in water.
Example 3 0.3 part of sodium salt of copper phth: alocyamine monosulfonic acid monosulfonic acid ethanolamides, produced from copper phthalocyanine monosulfonic acid monosulfonic acid chloride and ethanolamine in water, 0.4 part of ammonium sulfate and 0.2 parts of the quaternized nitrogen compound described below are dissolved in 250 parts of hot water. At 40 ih,
this liquor added 10 parts of worsted wool. The temperature is raised to boiling within 40 minutes, and it is colored boiling for an hour. Then the dyed worsted wool is rinsed first with warm, then with cold water. The pure, even blue coloration obtained is very good fast to wet, light, sweat and rub resistant.
The quaternized nitrogen compound used in this example is prepared as follows: 68 parts of dodecylamine are mixed with 45 parts of styrene oxide at 70 with stirring.
The Genü'sch is then heated to 140, an exothermic reaction occurs; the temperature rises to 179. The reaction mixture is then stirred for a further 4 hours at a temperature of about 140. Add 2 parts of Na tri to the melt:
umäthylat and initiates at 110 to 120 ethylene oxide until the increase in weight is 329 parts (2'0 times).
94 parts of the 2-dodecylamino-1-phenylethanol polyglycol ether produced by this process are mixed with 10 parts of dimethyl sulfate at 70 in about 10 minutes while stirring. The mixture is then stirred for a further hour at this temperature.
The quaternary nitrogen compound obtained on cooling as a waxy mass: is clearly soluble in water.
Example 4 The dyeing is the same as in Example 2, but instead of copper phthalocyanine tetrasulfanic acid, 0.5 parts of the dye> (S03Na) 3-:

Diazotization and coupling on 1-phenyl-3-m: ethylpyrazolone) ver used.
A uniform green, sweat-, wet- and rub-fast coloration is obtained.
Example 6 0.4 part of the sodium salt of copper phthalocyanine trisulfonic acid is dissolved in 400 parts of water with the addition of 0.4 part of ammonium sulfate, 0.1 part of the quaternary nitrogen compound described in Example 2 and 0.4 parts Share this condensation product of one mole of coconut oil fatty acids with 2 moles of diethanolamine according to US Pat. No. 2,089,212.
At 40, you enter this liquor with 10 parts of wool flannel.
The temperature is raised to boiling within 40 minutes, and it is colored boiling ge for an hour. Then the dyed wool flannel is rinsed first with warm, then with cold water. The resulting full, pure, calm, blue color is very good wet, light and rubfast.
