Warning device Various types of warning devices are known which emit a signal after a predetermined period of time. Some of them, which for example have the purpose of reminding a parking time, generally include a clockwork movement and a warning mechanism arranged between two plates and housed in a metal or plastic case.
The warning device generally controls a hammer which strikes a cylindrical bell formed directly by the housing which must then be made of metal or constituted by an independent element surrounding the cage with a certain clearance.
Thus, in some of these embodiments, the bell is closed at one of its ends and thus has a bottom housed between a plate and the bottom of the box and having means for fixing to one of these. two elements. However, this arrangement has the drawback of taking up space in height and of being difficult to assemble. In another embodiment, the bell was fixed not by its bottom but rather by an outer rim clamped between a bearing surface of the middle part and the upper plate of the movement; to the place lost in height is therefore also added the drawback of a certain space lost in plan due to the existence of said outer rim.
The present invention specifically relates to a warning device comprising a clockwork mechanism and a warning mechanism arranged between two plates and forming a cage housed in a housing, said cage being surrounded, with a certain clearance, by a bell having a shape. general cyEndric and provided with a rim, the assembly of which is particularly easy and which takes up a reduced space in height as in plan.
This warning device is characterized in that this rim projects inwardly above one of the plates of the cage and that it is placed between this plate and a bearing surface secured to the corresponding flange of the housing, the whole so as to maintain the bell in place when the case is closed.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a general plan view thereof and FIG. 2 a similar view with the box open; fig. 3 is a section along III-III of FIG. 1.
In the drawing, 1 and 2 represent the two flanges of a plastic case glued at 3. The movement cage is shown schematically at 4; it is limited upwards and downwards by two plates, not shown, between which are mounted a clockwork movement and a warning mechanism. This cage is exactly positioned in the housing by engagement of the lower plate in a housing 5 formed in the mass of the lower flange 2. A rotary button 6, appearing in an opening of the upper flange 1, makes it possible to adjust the warning mechanism which controls a hammer not shown striking a bell 7.
This bell is generally cylindrical in shape and fits with a certain clearance around the cage; it also has a slight annular rim 8 which is clamped against the upper plate of the cage by an annular bearing 9 integral with the flange 1 of the housing.
This construction allows for quick and easy nesting and exact positioning of the di-

to elements by particularly simple and inexpensive means. In addition, the size and arrangement of the bell make it possible to obtain an excellent sound.
