Beispiel I

Process for the production of hardened, alkali and acid resistant coatings,
Grouting and waterproofing
In acid building technology, coatings, linings, seals, etc., are very often used for apparatus with phenol-aldehyde resins or aldehyde resins of the phenol homologues, to which fillers and hardeners are optionally added.
It has also already been proposed to increase the chemical resistance of such compositions by adding additives to the resins which are partly hardening and partly non-hardening, such as. B. halogenated aliphatic alcohols or aldehydes, aliphatic esters of inorganic acids or the corresponding arylalkyl compounds or other aliphatic esters which also have a hardening effect are added. The addition of aryl ethers, such as those formed when phenols react with chlorohydrins, is also known. In addition, the addition of furan derivatives, such as furfurol and furfuryl alcohol, has also been proposed, with particularly highly condensed phenol-aldehyde resin compositions having a high viscosity sometimes also being used.
It is also known to produce thermally cured resins from mixtures of phenolic resins and furfuryl alcohol or furfuryl alcohol resin, which resins are resistant to dilute solutions of alkalis.
The ratio between phenol-formaldehyde resins and furfuryl alcohol resin is between 2: 1 and 1: 1.
A process has now been found for the production of cured, alkali-resistant and acid-resistant coatings, putties and seals, which is characterized by the use of a curable mixture which is produced from at least the following components: a) liquid phenol-aldehyde resin, the is made of mononuclear, monohydric phenol and more than 1 mole of aldehyde per mole of phenol, b) the chemical resistance of the hardened mass increasing substance, consisting of chlorinated, oxygen-containing organic compound and / or of a phosphoric acid ester having a maximum of 6 carbon atoms, c) Furfuryl alcohol resin as produced by condensation of furfuryl alcohol with itself, e.g.
B. in the presence of acid or other activators, the amount by weight of the furfuryl alcohol resin is 10-75 le of the amount by weight of the resin mentioned under).
Hardening agents can also be added to these hardenable mixtures.
Mixtures of the type mentioned, which z. B.
Chlorohydrins, such as glycol chlorohydrin or epichlorohydrin, contain as component b) and are optionally produced with an addition of furfural, are completely resistant to cold and hot alkali solutions of any concentration and to concentrated sulfuric acid at temperatures of 0 to 100 "after curing. It is particularly surprising It is also surprising that the mixtures hardly change their viscosity even after exposure to elevated temperature, and that despite the presence of very different components, they still change after a long time and at elevated temperature are perfectly homogeneous.
The addition of furfuryl alcohol resin proposed according to the invention is particularly advantageous in those known phenol-aldehyde resins of the type mentioned in which no more than 1.8 mol of formaldehyde was used for condensation per mole of phenol. The furfuryl alcohol resin is advantageously added in an amount of 20-50 l, based on the phenol-aldehyde resin, but can also be used in smaller amounts down to 100% or in larger amounts up to 75%. It is also possible to use resins with a formaldehyde: phenol ratio above 1.8: 1, e.g. B. 2: 1 can be used.
The resin mixtures can be hardened in a manner known per se both by the action of heat and by the addition of hardeners, the hardeners being acidic, neutral or basic in nature, and hardening optionally also being able to take place by the action of heat.
As substances that improve the chemical resistance of the hardened mass (component b), phosphoric acid esters containing a maximum of 6 carbon atoms, or chlorinated, oxygen-containing organic compounds such as chlorohydrins or chlorinated aldehydes, z. B. 1,3 dichloropropanol-2, monochloropropanol, dichlorohydrin (1,2-dichloropropanol-3), glycol chlorohydrin, epichlorohydrin, dichloro - tert. - isobutanol, chloral hydrate, ß-dichloropropionaldehyde hydrate or chlorobenzaldehyde. It is also possible to use chlorine-containing ethers made from monohydric phenols (such as phenol [C6H5OH], cresol, xylenol or naphthol) and chlorinated alcohols. Trimethyl phosphate and triethyl phosphate may be mentioned as phosphoric acid esters of the type mentioned.
Any desired mixtures of the substances mentioned which improve chemical resistance can also be used. The amount of all these substances can be between 1 and 200 per cent, preferably between 3 and 15 per cent, based on the phenolaldehyde resin, but can also be greater or less, e.g. B. 30 / e. It is also particularly advantageous to add furfural in amounts between 1 and 30e / o, based on the phenol-aldehyde resin. Mixtures of furfural with chlorohydrins and / or chlorinated aldehydes and / or chlorine-containing aryl ethers are particularly advantageous. However, if such mixtures are used, it is advisable not to use more than 400/0 of them, based on the weight of the phenol-aldehyde resin.
Known acidic, neutral or basic hardeners can be used as hardeners, such as 1,5-naphthalene disulfonic acid, p-toluenesulfonic acid, naphthalene sulfochloride, p-toluenesulfochloride, maleic anhydride, hydrogen chloride, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, benzotrichloride, lead oxide, etc. The hardeners are expedient in amounts of 0.5-5 / o, based on the phenol-aldehyde resin.
It is often useful to add fillers. Here fillers of all kinds, such. B. inert fillers and especially those with high thermal conductivity can be used, such as silicon, silicon carbide and the various types of graphite, such as natural graphite or finely powdered coke or other types of artificial graphite.
Other inert fillers such. B. silicon dioxide, such as quartz, also titanium dioxide, barium sulfate, etc. in question. However, other fillers can also be used, such as already hardened phenol-aldehyde condensation resins, polyvinyl chloride, polytetrafluoroethylene, polytrifluorochloroethylene or partially acetalized polyvinyl alcohol, i.e. acetalized compounds of polyvinyl alcohol in which about 55-750 / G of the hydroxyl groups are acetalized. The person skilled in the art can easily determine the maximum amounts of fillers that can be added to the compositions.
Example I.
100 parts by weight of a cement flour, which consists of 95 parts by weight of coal coke and 5 parts by weight of 1.5 naphthalene disulfonic acid, are mixed with 55 parts by weight of a liquid phenol-aldehyde resin mixture, which itself consists of 60 parts by weight. liquid monooxybenzene-formaldehyde resin with a molar ratio of
Formaldehyde to phenol = 1 4 20 parts by weight Furfuryl alcohol resin (manufactured by
Condensation of furfuryl alcohol), 10 parts by weight. Furfural,
5 parts by weight Epichlorohydrin and
5 parts by weight Glycol chlorohydrin. This mixture is mixed well mechanically in a suitable vessel until the mass is homogeneous. Acid-resistant stones are then laid with this putty mass according to the usual method and the resulting joints are grouted.
The coverings produced with it are impervious to liquids and prevent corrosion or attack on the subsurface. The cement, which is self-hardening after 24 hours at 200, is concentrated against cold and boiling 150 / cuige caustic soda and against cold and 100 warm. Resistant to sulfuric acid.
Example 2

Furfuryl alcohol resin and 10 parts by weight. 1,3-dichloropropanol consists. Instead of p-toluenesulfonic acid, benzotrichloride can also be used entirely or in part. After thorough mixing, this mixture is used as indicated in Example 1.
