Tampon The present invention relates to a tampon comprising a plastic sleeve having an expandable split part and a fastening member intended to be driven into this sleeve to cause its expansion.
This plug is characterized in that said sleeve comprises an unsplit part having an annular straight section and which is pierced with an unthreaded constant opening bore, and in that said fixing member comprises a part having the shape of 'a cylindrical screw intended to be housed in said bore, the outside diameter of the screw thread of this part being slightly larger than the opening of said bore without however preventing this part from being axially forced into this bore when the fixing member is driven into the sleeve, and said thread, once engaged in the bore,
making it possible to remove the fixing member from the sleeve following a rotation of said member in the direction corresponding to the unscrewing of said thread.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the buffer which is the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 shows the two elements separately: fixing member and bush, the latter being shown in axial section.
Figs. 2 and 3 are sections along lines 2-2 and 3-3 of FIG. 1.
Figs. 4 and 5 represent the buffer of FIG. 1 in the position of use, the fixing member being shown in two different positions and the sleeve being cut axially in a plane perpendicular to the section plane of FIG. 1.
The buffer shown comprises a plastic sleeve 1 and a metal fixing member 2 intended to be driven into this sleeve. The sleeve 1 comprises an expandable front part 3, which has a cross section of generally circular shape, cut into two circle sectors 4 and 4 'by a diametrical slot 5 whose side walls 6 are flat (see FIG. 3).
At its other end, the sleeve comprises a part 7, not slit, which has an annular cross section (FIG. 2) and which is pierced with an unthreaded bore 8 which opens, at 9, into the slot 5. This bore 8 has a circular section, it is of constant section. In variants, it could have a cross section of another shape, square, triangular, star, etc. The sleeve has a conical head 10 and the bore 8 opens into a housing 11 hollowed out in this head.
The fixing member 2 has a head 12 and a body 13, of generally cylindrical shape, intended to be housed in the sleeve 1. This body 13 has a smooth front part 14 intended to be housed in the expandable front part 3 of the sleeve and a rear part 15 in the form of a cylindrical screw intended to be housed in the bore 8. The end of part 14 has a rounded point 16.
The threads of the cylindrical screw 15 are rolled on the body of the member 2 which was originally cylindrical. This screw has several threads and has a relatively large pitch. The head 12 has a slot 17 whose edges are chamfered, as shown at 18.
When using the buffer, the sleeve 1 is first placed in a hole 19 previously drilled in a support (fig. 5). This hole 19 has a diameter slightly greater than that of the sleeve. The conical end part 16 of the fixing member is then threaded into the entry of the bore 8 of the sleeve and then, with a hammer, the fixing member 2 is driven out into the sleeve (fig. . 5).
During this operation, the front part 14 of the fixing member 2 comes to be housed in the slotted part 3 of the sleeve and causes the expansion of this part, which ensures the fixing of the sleeve 1 in the hole 19 .
The outer diameter of the thread 15 is slightly larger than the diameter of the bore 8, without however preventing this rear part of the member 1 from being axially forced into this bore, so that the body of said fixing member can be pushed into the socket practically over its entire length, as shown in fig. 5.
The thread 15 then has a tendency to become embedded in the wall of the bore 8 which tightly surrounds it, and the fixing member 2 can, if necessary, be withdrawn from the sleeve as a result of a rotation of this member in the direction corresponding to the unscrewing of the screw thread. It is thus easily possible to bring the member 2 into the withdrawn position shown in FIG. 4, position from which it can be extracted from the sleeve by means of pliers or any other tool, if not manually.
The buffer shown has the following advantages - the installation of the buffer is very fast because the fixing member 2 can be driven out with a hammer in the socket 1; - The fixing member 2 can easily be removed, without any damage to said member, the sleeve or the support, as a result of the rotation of this member. which then unscrews from the sleeve.
The bush 1 is preferably molded from a plastic material of the polyamide class, its front part 3 has peripheral ridges, for example having the shape of a screw thread, which are intended to increase the grip of the bush in the support. The head of the socket makes it possible to use the latter to retain an object to be fixed, the member 2 then serving only to fix the socket in the support.
