Sun protection lamella The invention relates to a sun protection lamella. Such slats are arranged in front of windows and facades and can usually be pivoted to adapt to the respective position of the sun and the lighting conditions.
So far, such slats have mostly been made in such a way that a load-bearing substructure made of welded pipes, a kind of carrying the framework, has been clad with sheet metal. The production costs for such slats were very high, and the individual slats were also heavy, so that a particularly strong supporting structure had to be provided to accommodate these slats.
Furthermore, sun protection lamellas, which consist of one or more profiles produced by an extrusion process, are known. A special profile is required for each lamella cross-section. The high costs for the required dies and the large amount of material required high production costs for this lamella, especially in the case of small quantities. Since the size of the profiles to be produced in the extrusion process is very limited, only smaller lamellas with a narrow width of this type can be produced.
The invention aims to create a sun protection lamella of great rigidity that is simple in structure and therefore cheap to manufacture. In addition, it should be possible to manufacture the lamella in any size, not only in terms of its length, but also in terms of its width. According to the invention, this is achieved by the fact that the lamella has two metal sheets which are approximately curved convexly according to a sinusoidal curve and which are firmly connected to one another at their two longitudinal edges and which are arranged between the sheets and which act on the longitudinal edges of the sheets.
The lamella according to the invention represents for itself a self-supporting unit consisting essentially only of sheet metal, which is simple in its construction and therefore cheap to manufacture. An expensive substructure supporting the sheet metal is not required. This lamella forms a closed hollow profile with great torsional and maximum flexural rigidity with the least amount of material.
The lamella according to the invention is therefore also extremely light. Sheet metal is also a very cheap and easy to process material compared to profiles and tubes. For this reason, the lamella can be produced in any dimensions without special expensive dies. Both the length and the width of the lamella can depending be changed as required. This also makes it possible to produce entire facades from such slats. At the points on the facade where the windows are located, the slats are then fixed to pivot at the other points. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing in an exemplary embodiment.
They show: FIG. 1 a horizontal section through a sun protection lamella along line 1-1 of FIG. 3, FIG. 2 a plan view the lamella according to FIG. 3, FIG. 3 a vertical longitudinal section along the line III-III in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 a vertical cross section along the line IV- IV of FIG. 2.
Two metal sheets 1, 2, which are approximately convexly curved according to a flat sine curve, are firmly connected to one another at their two longitudinal edges by supporting profile strips 3 and connecting profile strips 4. Between the sheets 1, 2, traction means 5 are provided according to the invention, which act on the longitudinal edges of the sheets. The sinusoidal curvature of the sheets is achieved by the fact that the pulling means are slightly shorter than the width of the sheets.
Anyone who connects the longitudinal edges of the sheet metal, which is flat before processing, to the traction means, exerts a pressure on the sheets, causing them to buckle. This natural buckling follows a sine curve. The arched sheet metal has a greater rigidity as a result of its tension. It offers a considerable resistance to pressure acting on it from the outside, so that the lamella is pressure-resistant despite the thin sheet metal.
In order to increase the compressive strength even further, the closing means are designed as ribs 5 and have a sinusoidal profile that corresponds to the curvature of the metal sheets. The frames 5 have each a right-angled bent part 5a, with which they can be screwed 6 to the supporting profile strips 3 </ B> are firmly connected. The connecting profile strips 4 are in turn screwed to the support profile strips 3 by screws 7 .
In order to create a shear-proof connection of the same with the support and connection profile strips on the longitudinal edges of the sheets, the sheets are firmly glued to both the support and connection profile strips.
The profile strip 3 and the part of the profile strip 4 facing the metal sheets have an approximately U-shaped cross-section with legs slightly bent outwards and are designed so that the legs of the connection profile strips 4 from the outside onto the Press the longitudinal edge of the sheets 1, 2 and press them firmly against the legs of the support profile strips 3 on which the sheets are supported. In this way, a firm and permanent connection of the sheets is created at their longitudinal edges, which is extremely cheap to produce. The slat is completely self-supporting.
It has a closed hollow profile with great torsional rigidity and maximum flexural rigidity, the material expenditure being very low in relation to the rigidity achieved.
The ribs 5 are not required for the actual shaping of the lamella, since the metal sheets automatically curve in a sinusoidal shape as soon as pressure is exerted on their longitudinal edges. A rod or sheet metal that is subjected to pressure bends according to a sinusoidal line and maintains this shape as long as the pressure continues. Only after the pressure has been released does the deformed sheet return to its original flat shape due to its elasticity. The ribs 5 thus essentially serve as a supply means and, if the length of the lamellae is short, can also be replaced by rod-shaped tension anchors.
If the length of the lamellas is greater, however, the ribs fulfill a second important aspect. The sheets 1, 2 are under constant slight bending stress as a result of the tensile effect of the chips 5 acting on the longitudinal edges, which results in the sinusoidal buckling of the sheets.
As a result of wind pressure or during Trans port, that is, if pressure is exerted on the surface of the metal sheets, they can easily dent or buckle inward on the opposite side. In order to prevent this, several frames are provided which are arranged at a distance from one another and which exactly correspond in their course to the sinusoidal curvature of the metal sheets. The metal sheets just lie loosely on the frames without having to be connected to the frames themselves.
The sinusoidal curvature of the sheets was chosen because the sine curve represents the natural curvature of the sheets. As a result, the sheets lie against the frames in a completely informal manner and retain their smooth, wavy-free surface.
If, on the other hand, a shape other than the sinusoidal curve were chosen for the curvature of the sheets and frames, the sheets would be pressed onto the frames with tension. Given their low thickness - about 1-2 mm - , the sheets would pull in at the points where there are no frames, so that the frames stand out on the outside and a wavy surface is created. This could be remedied by arranging many frames arranged closely next to one another, but this would make the construction more expensive and significantly increase the weight of the lamella.
The ribs 5 are expediently made of thin sheet metal, since they only have to absorb tensile stress and low compressive stress. In order to increase their rigidity and to widen their support surface, they are crimped at right angles along their sinusoidal curvature, as mentioned. It would also be conceivable to make the frames from plywood. However, in order to make the entire lamella insensitive to the weather, it is advantageous to produce all parts of the lamella from aluminum and to give the outer parts a pleasing appearance by anodizing.
The lamella according to the invention is provided as a sun protection and is therefore pivotable about a central longitudinal axis. For this purpose, an axis of rotation consisting of a tube 8 is provided in the middle of the ribs between the metal sheets. At one end of the tube 8 a bearing 9 is provided for a pin 10 about which the lamella can be pivoted. At the other end, the tube 8 is screwed into a rotating plate 11 , which is supported on the joint ball 12 with a ball socket. A link 13 engages the rotary plate 11 in order to pivot the lamella. On the tube 8 which acts as the axis of rotation, spacer tubes 14 loosely pushed on between the individual frames 5 are also seen.
Furthermore, end plates 15 and 16 are arranged at the two ends of the lamella. With their edges beaded at right angles, they encompass the metal sheets 1, 2. The lower cover sheet is located using screws 17 and a counter plate 18 15 connected to the rotating plate 11 , while the upper cover plate 16 is connected to washers 19, 20 and a screw ring 21 is attached to the pipe 8 .
In addition, the connecting profile strips 4 have on their side facing away from the slat two more legs, which are used to insert ver different additional profile strips. In the embodiment shown, these are profile strips 22 made of rubber, plastic or a similar rubber-elastic material. When the lamellas are closed, these profile strips 22 come into contact with the profile strip of the adjacent lamella, as shown in phantom in FIG. 1.
In this way, a sufficient seal is achieved between the individual slats that does not allow light to pass through. In order to prevent the rubber profile strips 22 from slipping out of the legs of the connection profile strips 4, the cover plates 15, 16 have extensions 23, extending over the longitudinal edges of the plates 1, 2. 24. In order to show the simple structure of the lamella even better, the assembly of the same is briefly described: The individual frames 5 are threaded onto the tube 8 with the interposition of the spacer tubes 14 and then screwed to the support strips 3 .
The supporting and connecting profile strips 3, 4 are then coated with an adhesive. The connecting profile strip 4 is screwed to the support profile strip 3 on one longitudinal side of the lamella, the metal sheets 1 and 2 being inserted between the two strips. The sheets, which are now spread apart in a V-shape, are pressed onto the ribs, and the connecting profile strip 4 on the other side is then screwed to the corresponding support profile strip 3 .
After inserting the rubber profile strips 22 and attaching the cover plates 15, 16 and the rotating plate 11 , the lamella is fixed and ready.
This simple structure and the cheap basic material - thin sheet metal - result in very low manufacturing costs. This also makes it possible to manufacture the lamellae in any size, both in terms of length and width. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the lamella is approximately 3.6 m long, 50 cm wide and approximately 7 cm thick at its thickest point. With a sheet thickness of about 1 mm, it has a completely smooth, wave-free surface. With larger spans of the lamellas, the sinusoidal arching is increased accordingly and a greater sheet thickness is selected.
The invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiment; it would also be conceivable to connect the sheets at their longitudinal edges directly without the interposition of support and connec tion profiles. Furthermore, with smaller dimensions of the lamella it is not necessary to provide frames as traction means.
