Tensioner for a fastener The present invention relates to a tensioner for a fastener. The term "fastener" is understood to mean any elongated link intended to connect two parts and to be stretched between these parts. It can be a wire, a cable, a rope, a strap and any other similar object.
The aim of the invention is to provide a tensioner of simple and economical construction.
The tensioner forming the subject of the present invention is characterized in that. that it comprises a first member having a slot in which the fastener cannot ser, and a second member carried by the first member and capable of taking, relative to the latter, a first position in which it forms with the first member a crank allowing to rotate the slot in order to stretch or relax the fastener, and a second position in which it rests against the tensioned fastener to prevent the latter from being released.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the tensioner forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view of said embodiment.
Fig. 2 is an end view taken from the left of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1 showing organs in another position.
Fig. 4 is an end view taken from the left of FIG. 3.
The tensioner shown comprises a first or gane 1 formed of an aluminum rod bent at right angles and thus comprising two parts whose axes intersect. The first part, 2, has a longitudinal slot 3 intended to receive a fastener 4 intended to be stretched. The second part, 5, carries a bearing 6 in which a second string 7 can slide, also consisting of an aluminum rod. The bearing 6 is arranged so that the member 7 is constantly parallel to the first part 2 of the member 1 and to the slot 3.
A knurled head 8 makes it possible to move the member 7 in the bearing 6 between a first position shown in FIG. 1, in which the member 7 constitutes with the member 1 a level my, and a second position shown in FIG. 3.
The tensioner described is intended to tension the fastener 4 which can be, for example, a central strap of a tennis net. This attachment is fixed to the net at its upper part and fixed to the ground at its lower part. The net itself, not shown, is hand held stretched by cables at its two ends. The role of the clip 4 is therefore to adjust the height of the net. We then place. the members 1 and 7 in the relative position shown in FIG. 1 and part 2 is placed on the clip 4 by making it penetrate into the slot 3.
Part 2 of member 1 then constitutes an axis of rotation of the crank formed by members 1 and 7. By rotating member 7 around this axis, slot 3 is obviously rotated on itself. After half a turn, the clip 4 has taken the position clearly visible in FIG. 2. Continuing to turn the crank, the clip wraps around part 2 and tightens.
When the tension obtained is sufficient, the member 7 is slid in the bearing 6 towards the position shown in FIG. 3 and so that it comes to rest against the fastener 4, as can be seen clearly in FIG. 4. The tensioned clip exerts a traction which tends to turn the crank in a clockwise direction, looking at fig. 4. This rotation is prevented by the support of the member 7 against the fastener. If we then want to relax the attachment, the member 7 is returned to the crank position and the latter is rotated in the opposite direction.
It can therefore be seen that the tension of the fastener 4 can easily be adjusted by degrees corresponding to a half-turn of the crank, since at each half-turn the member 7 can come into contact with the fastener 4 for constitute a stop. It is obvious that the level can be turned in either direction to tighten the tie.
