Auxiliary shut-off device for connection to a tapping valve It is known and customary to connect a new building to be directed via tapping valves to the supply lines for gas and water. For this purpose, the valve housing is screwed onto a clamp band placed around the pipe. The tapping device is screwed onto this in a straight extension of the connecting piece and the auxiliary shut-off device is screwed onto the connecting piece that branches off at right angles.
The pressurized line can then be drilled. Once this has happened, the tapping device is moved back as far as possible in order to then effect a temporary barrier to the outside by means of the auxiliary blocking device. Only then is the drilling rig removed as a whole and replaced by the actual shut-off valve. Once this has happened, the auxiliary shut-off device can be opened and the actual shut-off valve closed. In this state, the auxiliary shut-off device is finally dismantled and the branch line to be connected is screwed on instead.
The known auxiliary shut-off devices already have a closure piece which can be advanced into the cross-section of the housing to be sealed in order to temporarily effect the intended shut-off to the outside. According to the invention, what is new is that the auxiliary shut-off device is provided with a hollow mandrel which is surrounded by a thick-walled rubber bladder at least over the length transversely penetrating the axial flow opening of the valve housing.
This rubber bladder can be widened to achieve a tight seal by pressing a pressure medium through the bore of the mandrel.
A particularly simple and expedient embodiment of the auxiliary shut-off device consists in that two pistons are arranged in the cylindrical housing of the auxiliary shut-off device screwed on to the right-angled branches of the valve housing, between which there is a hydraulic pressure medium and one of which is through one spindle can be operated from the outside, while the other carries the hollow mandrel with the rubber bladder.
The Kol ben carrying the dome is provided with an opening through which the pressure medium located between the piston can enter the hollow dome as soon as it is in the shut-off position in order to effect the desired seal by inflating the bladder. It is recommended that the two pistons be connected to one another by a chain, preferably by a La chain. This chain allows the two pistons to approach one another if the rubber bladder is to be inflated. But above all, it ensures that the piston carrying the mandrel is carried along during the return movement of the piston operated by the spindle.
In the drawing, the housing of a tapping valve with an embodiment of an auxiliary shut-off device according to the invention is shown in vertical section in four different operating positions.
The valve housing <B> 10 </B>, which with the conical thread <B> 11 </B> is screwed tightly into the supply line around the clamp band, carries the valve stub 12 and further down in its axial extension On the side, the branch connector <B> 13 </B> for the branching line. The axial passage should be temporarily sealed through this connector.
For this purpose, the housing 14, in which the two pistons <B> 15 </B> and <B> 16 </B> are guided, is screwed onto the thread of the connecting piece <B> 13 </B>. The piston <B> 15 </B> carries a hollow mandrel <B> 17 </B> which is surrounded by the rubber bladder <B> 18 </B>. In addition, the piston <B> 15 </B> has an opening <B> 19 </B> through which the pressure from the space 20 can enter the hollow mandrel when the rubber bladder <B> 18 </B> inflates shall be. The piston <B> 16 </B> is connected to the actuating spindle 21 and can be moved back and forth in the housing 14 by this. The space 20 between the two pistons <B> 15 </B> and <B> 16 </B> is filled with a hydraulic pressure medium.
This generally causes a synchronous movement of the piston <B> 15 </B> when the piston <B> 16 </B> is displaced in one direction or the other. As a precaution, an additional connection between these two pistons is created by the link chain 22.
After the housing 11 of the tapping valve has been screwed onto the clamp band surrounding the supply line and the auxiliary device has been installed, the parts are initially in the position sketched in FIG. 1. With the parts in this position, the tapping device is screwed onto the valve connector 12 and drilled through the axial bore of the housing 10 through the supply line. Once this has happened, the drilling device is screwed back into the nozzle 12 and the auxiliary shut-off device then comes into operation.
The piston <B> 16 </B> is advanced by turning the spindle 21; The piston <B> 15 </B> is also pushed forward accordingly via the pressure medium filling the space 20 until the mandrel <B> 17 </B> with the rubber bladder <B> 18 </B> is the one in FIG. 2 assumes the outlined position. If the spindle 21 is then rotated further in the same direction, the piston <B> 15 </B> can no longer be advanced because the mandrel <B> 17 </B> is seated in the valve passage. A further forward movement of the piston <B> 16 </B> then causes the pressure of the liquid in the space 20 to increase.
This increase in pressure is propagated through the opening <B> 19 </B> and the channel of the mandrel <B> 17 </B> into the rubber bladder, and this is therefore, as in <B> 18 '</B> indicated in FIG. 3, inflated so that it tightly closes the axial passage of the valve housing <B> 10 </B>. Once this has been achieved, the tapping device can be removed and replaced by the valve upper part <B> 23 </B>.
As soon as this clearly closes the valve housing 10 upwards, the piston 16 is removed by turning the valve spindle 21 in the opposite direction, with the effect that the pressure fluid in the space 20 first is relieved. As a result, the inflation of the rubber bladder <B> 18 </B> is reversed, as can be seen in FIG. 4.
