Tool for tightening a bottom screw on the body of a watch case with handles This tool, object of the invention, is characterized by a support having two flanges facing each other and being able to rotate around a common axis, the periphery of each flange having radial projections and of different widths, any projection of one flange facing a projection of the same width on the other, which makes it possible to arrange the box body between the two flanges, its handles engaged with two of said radial projections.
The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view.
Fig. 2 is a section through II-II of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a section through 111-11I of FIG. 2. FIG. 4 shows a detail variant.
The tool shown comprises a base plate 1 on which is mounted a bracket 2 in a vertical socket 2a from which the tool spindle 3 carrying a tool 16 can slide and rotate.
Under this spindle are mounted, on the plate 1, two bearings 4 in which can rotate the shaft 5 provided with an operating knob 6 and having two threads 7, of reverse inclination, on each of which can move one of two flanges 8. These flanges, which may be of plastic material, are parallel and have, on their periphery, six radial projections 9, and of different widths, any projection of a flange located opposite a projection of the same width than the other.
Each of the flanges carries a cam 10, having a notch 11 in line with each projection. With these two cams works a wedge 12 which can engage in two projections each belonging to a cam. This wedge is carried by a lever 13 articulated at 14 and having a button 15 for its operation. To screw a base onto a box body having handles, this body is placed as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, between two flanges, the horns surrounding two projections of the same width, the bottom is slightly screwed into the body, the two flanges are immobilized by acting on the button 15 and the socket 3 is lowered so that the teeth of the tool 16 engage with the corresponding notches in the bottom, this for complete tightening.
The projections 9, of different width, are intended to be used with boxes whose distance between the horns is not the same. Likewise, by acting on the button 6, the two flanges 8 can be brought closer or further apart, which makes it possible to adapt the tool to boxes of different diameters. Finally, the employability of the tool could be increased by using projections 9, the width of which could be varied, these projections (see fig. 4) being able to be formed of two cheeks 9a mounted on two threads with opposite inclinations d 'an axis 9b.
