Cock with a linearly movable valve body The invention relates to a cock with a linearly movable valve body which is used to terminate the supply line.
Such taps, especially for water, are known per se. They all have the property that the higher the water pressure in this supply line, the higher the force that has to be used to close the supply line. Under certain circumstances, this pressure can assume such a magnitude that the application of the necessary actuating force is associated with difficulties. This will be the case, in particular, if the valve is actuated by a float that causes the valve body to move via a lever arm. The force available to close the valve depends essentially on the size of the float and on the length of the lever arm to which it is attached.
In many applications, these two sizes cannot be selected at will, but are limited for design reasons, so that there are also limits to the available actuating force.
The present invention makes it possible to use such a cock for significantly higher pressures in the supply line, with otherwise constant conditions, without the actuating force increasing by the same chemical mass. The invention consists in that on the end face of the valve body facing away from the sealing surface there is a space connected to the supply line by a connecting line.
The subject of the invention also forms the use of such a tap operated by a float in a toilet water flushing device.
In the drawing, an example Ausfüh approximately form of the invention is shown in longitudinal section. The faucet shown and described is set up for use in a toilet water flushing device, the water inflow to a water reservoir what takes place depending on the position of a float located in this reservoir.
The housing 1 of the faucet is expediently made of metal and is designed as a cast piece. In the bore of the supply line 2 there is a bored through valve sleeve 3, against which the valve body 4 rests with its inserted sealing plug 5 in the closed position.
The valve sleeve 3 connected to the supply line 2 opens into the drain space 7a and finally into the discharge line 7b which is perpendicular to the supply line. In the cylindrical bore 8 of the housing, the valve body 4 is arranged axially displaceable. This Ven tilkörper 4 is provided with a groove in which a sealing ring 9 is inserted. Furthermore, the valve body 4 is provided with openings which are arranged around the sealing plug and which open into a non-continuous central overflow opening 25. In this overflow opening a sealing ring is inserted, which cooperates with the end of a sealing bolt 12 you.
An intermediate piece 10 protrudes partially on the open side of the bore 8 into this, the collar of which is pressed by the union nut 15 against the face of the housing via a sealing washer. In the zen tral bore of this intermediate piece 10 is an axially displaceable pressure piece 11, which has the cylindri's sealing bolt 12 of smaller diameter and with a tapered end, which cooperates with the valve body 4. The ent opposite end of this pressure piece 11 is provided with a transverse bore in which the pivot lever 13 is held by the bolt 14.
This pivot lever 13 engages with an arm 17 in an annular groove 16 of an end piece screwed onto the intermediate piece 10, the end head of the arm 17 acting as a fulcrum for the movements of this pivot lever 13. A rod 18 is connected to the pivot lever 13, at the end of which a float, not shown, is attached. This float is arranged in the interior of the water reservoir, which is usually located above the toilet.
In the housing 1 there is a stepped radial bore 23 in front of the valve sleeve on the supply side, into which the screw 19 is screwed. This radial bore opens into an axial bore 20 made in the housing wall, which in turn is connected to the cylinder bore 8 via a transverse slot 21, so that there is a connection between the supply line 2 and the control chamber 22. The screw 19 ends in a conical needle which can penetrate more or less deeply into this radial bore and controls its flow cross section.
The penetration depth is adjusted from the outside by turning the square head of the screw 19 in one direction or the other and then securing it with the nut 24.
The function of the tap is such that when the liquid level in the water reservoir falls, the float also sinks, the rod 18 and the pivot lever 13 pivoting around the head 17 as a fulcrum. As a result, the pressure piece 11 connected to this pivot lever together with the locking bolt 12 performs an axial movement. The device bolt 12 opens the overflow opening 25 between the control chamber 22 and the drain chamber 7a, whereby the pressure in the control chamber 22 is matched to the pressure in the drain space 7a, and due to the higher pressure acting on the seal 5 from the supply line 2, the valve body closes 4 of the movement of the sealing bolt 12.
This creates an intermediate space between the valve sleeve 3 and the seal 5, so that the flow medium can flow from the supply line 2 into the drainage space 7a and to the discharge line 7b and from there into the reservoir.
As a result of this inflow, the level in the reservoir will rise again and so will the swimmer including the lever 18, whereby the sealing bolt 12 executes a movement in the sense of closing the overflow opening 25. There is now an immediate tendency for the pressure to rise in the control chamber 22 as a result of the connection of this chamber with the feed line 2 which is under higher pressure.
The smallest closing movement of the valve body 4 under the effect of this pressure but leads again to the opening of the overflow opening 25 and the pressure drop in the control chamber 22, so that the valve body 4 is forced to precisely the movements of the sealing bolt 12 or the associated movements due to this interplay Regulatory bodies to follow. Finally, the valve is closed by pressing the seal 5 of the valve body 4 against the valve sleeve 3 with the overflow opening 25 closed by the constant pressure now prevailing in the control chamber 22, which corresponds to that of the supply line 2.
From this illustration it can be seen that the displacement work on the valve body 4 is performed almost exclusively by the difference in the pressure forces prevailing on both sides of this body. The sealing bolt 12 therefore has to transmit only very low axial forces, since it only exercises control functions.
As a result, the tap can be used for very high pressures in the supply line, although the adjustment forces to be applied on the lever 18 can be kept small and a secure sealing of the supply line is guaranteed. With the same pressure, compared to the known taps, either the float size and / or the lever arm length of the rod 18 can be reduced, or with the same float and lever arm ratios, the valve can be used for higher pressures in the supply line. The screw 19 with the tip changing the flow cross section serves to dampen pressure surges in the connecting line.
The invention is not limited to the use of the faucet in a toilet water flushing device. The tap could also be used for other areas of application in which the opening is to take place by a float depending on a level to be monitored. In addition to water, any other liquids as well as gaseous or vaporous substances can be used as the flow medium. In addition, the tap does not necessarily need to cooperate with a swimmer. Instead of a float, a handle or devices such as. B. electric plunger coils that are only able to apply a limited force.
The internal structure of the cock could also be designed differently from the embodiment shown in the drawing, in that the space 22 is not arranged directly behind the valve body 4, but rather further axially movable members could be arranged between the valve body 4 and the space 22. In addition, the tap could be provided with several such lines instead of just one inlet and one outlet. It would also be possible, instead of in the wall of the housing, to design the connecting line as a pipe connection outside the housing.
