Group comprising an electric motor and a pump, for a central heating installation The object of the invention is a group comprising an electric motor and a pump, for a central heating installation, in which the stator of the electric motor, mounted on the stator of the pump, is separated by a sealed partition from the rotor of the electric motor which rotates in the pumped liquid.
The group according to the invention is characterized in that the stator of the electric motor is entirely encased in a mass of insulating material in the form of a bell, which extends in the form of a thin layer on the pole faces of the magnetic core of this stator, said bell-shaped mass being directly fixed against the stator of the pump.
The drawing. appended shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a similar section of the second embodiment.
The group according to the embodiment of FIG. 1 comprises a stationary pump body 1 provided with two pipes 2 and 3 aligned with one another along a vertical axis. The body 1 contains a partition 4 of generally conical shape aligned along a horizontal axis, this partition being surrounded by an annular space 5 which communicates with the pipe 3, while the pipe 2 extends inside the body 1 to end to an axial chamber 6.
The rotor 7 of the pump, having the shape of a propeller with a horizontal axis, is arranged in the annular passage which connects the chambers 5 and 6. It is mounted on a horizontal shaft 8 carried by a first bearing 9 arranged at the end of the partition 4 and by a second bearing 10 integral with a plate 11 fitted against a flange 12 presented by the rear of the body 1 and clamped against the latter by screws 13. The shaft 8 extends beyond of the bearing 10 and it cantileverly supports the rotor 14 of the electric drive motor.
Against the face of the plate 11 opposite the flange 12 is arranged a bell 15 of material. insulating material, for example of plastic material, in the thickness of which are coated stator sheets 16 surrounding the rotor 14, as well as the windings 17 mounted on these sheets. As shown, the plastic material extends inside of all the sheets in the form of a thin wall 15a arranged in the air gap between the rotor 14 and the stator 16 and covering the pole faces of the magnetic core of the latter.
The bell 15 has a solid bottom 15b on which are mounted the terminals 18 for supplying the windings 17. It is clamped in place against the plate 11 by screws 19.
Channels 1a are drilled in the mass of the pump body 1 to connect to the chamber 5 the space between the plate 11 and the internal face of the partition 4. The plate 11 is itself pierced with channels 11a.
It will be understood that the liquid intended to be put into circulation, generally constituted by water, fills the chamber delimited by the bell 15 so that the rotor 14 rotates in the water as in the known devices with an interposed metal bell. between the rotor and the stator.
But, while in these we must center and fix in place the stator over this bell, then enclose it to protect it from the ambient environment, here the massive bell 15 itself contains all the stator assembly of the sheets 16 and their windings 17, so that it suffices to place this bell over the rotor 14 so that the group is ready to operate.
It is even advantageously possible to embed in the mass of insulating material the connections which connect the windings 17 to the terminals 18, the latter themselves being partially coated in said material. In this way, the bell is presented as a single piece taking the place of the stator support frame and terminal plate,
and she also says thinks of any metallic liner of tightness. Installation and repair costs are thus considerably reduced. In addition, the sup, pressure of any continuous metal screen between the stator and the rotor prevents eddy current losses which considerably lower the efficiency of the groups. known.
It will be noted that, in order to lower the cost price, the stator can be coated in two successive operations by using in the first a plastic material of mediocre quality, then by covering this material during the second operation. , with a layer of appropriate thickness of a very high quality plastic material, perfectly waterproof and rigorously homogeneous.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the pump rotor 7 is of the centrifugal type, while the shaft 8 of the group is supported by two end bearings, one 20 being integral with the pump body 1, while the other 21 is arranged in the bottom of the bell 15; the latter bearing is advantageously embedded during molding in the insulating material so as to avoid any subsequent assembly operation.
The two bearings 20 and 21 are open-ended and the sealing is achieved by means of small added plugs 22 which can easily be removed when it is desired to access the shaft to check its rotation, to release it in the event of seizure. accidental, etc. In this case, the terminals 18 are attached to the upper side of the bell 15.
The mass of insulating plastic material which constitutes the bell 15 can advantageously be made in two superimposed parts, namely an inner part of medium quality and an outer covering part of very high quality which forms a perfectly tight and regular covering.
