Terminal piece on an electricity meter Electricity meters are usually provided with a terminal piece for the contact connection of the lines coming from the inside of the meter with the connecting conductors, which consists of a plurality of metallic contact terminals and an insulating body, usually in the form of a terminal strip, which holds these terminals together . The terminals usually consist of a sleeve into which the ends of the conductors to be connected to one another with a contact fit are inserted, and a clamping screw engaging in the sleeve for clamping the conductors.
The terminals of the connection terminal piece are mechanically quite heavily stressed, especially when conductors with a larger cross section are to be connected. Therefore, if, for example, the terminals are pressed into the terminal strip, the terminal strip must be provided quite massive so that it is tightened. the terminal screws do not break the terminals. However, a massive terminal strip also creates difficulties in terms of manufacture. There is also the disadvantage that if the terminals have become damaged, the entire connecting terminal piece has to be replaced. The meter housing must be opened so that the cable connections inside the meter can be disconnected. There are also connecting terminal pieces on electricity meters are known in which the terminals are loosely embedded in the terminal block.
With these connection terminal pieces, the terminals are only inserted into the terminal strip after the terminal strip has been completed, which makes the production of the connection terminal piece, but also the occasional replacement of individual parts, very much easier. In this case too, however, the terminal strip has so far been made as massive as possible so that it can cope with the strong mechanical stresses.
The aim of the invention is to provide a connection terminal piece on an electricity meter that meets all requirements even without a particularly massive design of the terminal strip, and that is as simple as possible in manufacture, assembly and in practice.
The invention seeks to achieve this goal by improving a terminal piece on an electricity meter, which consists of a plurality of metallic terminals and a terminal block holding these terminals, made of insulating material, with open chambers for receiving the terminals, the terminal block in which it is under attack The base plate of the meter is inserted and held on this by a screw connection.
According to the invention, the improvement is achieved in that the terminal strip consists of a base part and an attachment part, in such a way that the base part is inserted with a form fit that leaves only one degree of freedom in the direction of a perpendicular to the base plate and the attachment part is positively placed on the base part, and that the attachment part with the base plate has a screw connection that only captivates the remaining degree of freedom of these parts relative to each other and to the base plate through the form-fitting.
For explanation, an embodiment of the connecting terminal piece according to the invention is shown in the drawing, namely in Fig. 1 in section along the plane GH of FIG. 2, FIG. 2 in broken section along the area AB of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 seen in a broken piece from above, FIG. 4 in section along the plane CD in FIG. 3, and FIG. 5 in section along the plane EF in FIG. 3.
A counter base plate 1, which together with a housing cap 2 forms the counter interior Z, engages with an extension 3 under the terminal piece h. The base plate has a border 5 encompassed by the fold 4 of the meter housing cap 2. Sealing material inserted in the fold engagement is omitted in the drawing for the sake of simplicity. The board 5 has a cutout at the seat of the connecting terminal piece, into which a wall-like widening 6 of the base part 7 is inserted. At the joints 8, 9, both parts are beveled in a wedge shape in order to ensure a smooth transition of the rim.
At the corner where the joints 8, 9 meet, the base plate 1 has pocket-like recesses that are not shown in the drawing. The joints can be filled with sealing material or wetted with adhesive that does not fully harden. Otherwise, the base part 7 rests flat on the base plate extension 3. It also has a second wall-like widening 10, which serves as a guide for a slide-like attachment part 11 that can be placed perpendicular to the base plate. The slide guide is particularly visible at 12, FIG. 2. Short, slide-like guides are also located at 13 and 14, FIG. 1.
The guides are designed in such a way that after the part 11 has been placed on, only one degree of freedom remains in the direction of the arrow P, which is then finally tied by screwing the top part into the threaded holes 16 of the base plate 1 using the eyelets 15. An intermediate wall 17 of the attachment part 11 lies parallel to the meter base plate 1.
The metallic clamps used in the small strip K each consist of a sleeve 19 and a screw 18. The inner conductors 20 coming from the inside of the meter Z protrude into the sleeves 19. Those coming from outside. To connecting conductors, not shown, are inserted through the end openings 21 of the terminal strip and clamped in the sleeves 19 by tightening the screws 18 with the inner conductors 20. The inner conductors 20 are passed through corresponding holes in the base part 7. The introduction of the conductor 20 into the terminal strip during assembly can either be done from the outside, through the opening 21, or from the inside of the meter.
In the former case, the conductors 20 are only soldered after the A bring inside the meter, which is easily possible during the initial assembly. If the terminal strip or individual terminals are occasionally replaced, the opposite approach has the advantage that the soldered connection of the conductors 20 inside the meter can remain untouched; you only need to lift the free ends of the conductors 20 slightly in order to push the terminal strip together with the terminals onto the conductor ends.
The intermediate wall 17 of the attachment part 11 has openings for the screws 18 .; otherwise it covers all terminals. In order to achieve a perfect fit for the terminal sleeves 19 even with loosened terminal screws 18, the space between the wall 17 and the base part 7 of the attachment part 11 is divided like a comb. The chambers tightly enclose the terminal sleeves 19, see especially FIGS. 1 and 2. To lengthen the creeping current paths, the chamber walls still engage in grooves in the base part, which are not shown in the drawing.
The partition 17 also has a cutout 22 for the calibration connection clamps 23, which are arranged on a special structure 24, FIG. 4, of the base part 7 for the purpose of easier accessibility. At 25, Fig. 3 and 5, the on set part 11 has a double wall, in the cavity of which a flat part 26 is pushed to meet its stops 27 on stepped parts of the attachment. This part consists for example of hard paper, steel or aluminum. It is used to fasten and secure a terminal cover, not shown, which covers the entire terminal bar. A bolt of this cover engages in a cutout 28 of the flat part 26, a hole 29 is used to attach a seal.
The terminal block shown offers numerous advantages. The clamping parts 18, 19 can easily be replaced; only need the screws seated at 15 and 16 loosened and the attachment part 11 needs to be pulled upwards in order to easily pull the base part 7 together with the terminals outwards and replace it with new parts. The meter itself can remain closed when it is replaced. This is of particular advantage because otherwise you would have to re-calibrate it when you open the meter.
The fact that the terminal block of the connection terminal piece can be produced and installed in a particularly simple manner can be easily recognized from the drawing. The individual parts only need to be plugged into one another and screws only need to be attached to 15, 16 at the end.
The fact that both parts of the terminal strip, including the terminals, are only plugged into each other, you can swap all of these parts or some of them with corresponding parts of modified imple mentation, and you can create different combinations by variation. Since the clamping bodies are only loosely seated in the insulating parts, they can lay wide areas against the corresponding insulating walls when tightening and loosening the clamping screws, so that local overstressing of the insulating parts is avoided. The inevitable air gaps between the metal and insulating parts also make the heat transfer more difficult, thereby preventing the insulating parts from overheating.
The molds for producing the insulating parts are relatively simple. The insulating parts can almost always be made with the same, relatively thin wall thickness, so that mass accumulations are avoided. There you have the guarantee that the insulating parts can be fully cured without burning the weaker areas. The annoying insertion of the clamps into the press mold and the sealing difficulties that arise are avoided.
