Automatic buffer coupling The invention relates to an automatic buffer coupling, the coupling rod of which is axially resiliently guided in a housing containing a tension and shock suspension Ge and in which the coupling head of the rod is pivotable in all directions relative to the vehicle frame.
So far, a rigid central coupling part was either firmly connected to the Zug- and Stossvor direction and the pull and push rod, which ended in a hinge eye, movable on all sides in a bearing block that is attached to the car chassis, stored, this type of articulation as too unstable arid has proven to be too long and, moreover, the whole arrangement required a particularly cumbersome springy support device; or the central buffer coupling itself was equipped with a special one.
Joint equipped for the vertical movement of the coupling head, because previously for a short linkage of the coupling heads, roughly in the middle of the pulling and pushing device, this could only be moved from the outside and only in one direction - here only hori zontal. In this version with two separate joints, only the vertical inclination option of the coupling heads is available to bridge the coupling height differences.
Due to the short articulation of the coupling heads, they have to incline so steeply up and down to bridge the normally occurring height differences between two car ends to be coupled that the automatic coupling process is severely impaired, i.e. it is unsafe, so that this process must always be observed for its success and, if necessary, repeated. The purpose of coupling rods, to connect two wagons with each other in such a way that they form a single continuous, rigid, anti-buckling connecting rod between the two wagon articulation points, has become due in the latter version through the interposition of two special coupling head joints.
Under shock loads, the coupling rods want to give way at these joints, i.e. buckle, and the joints are therefore always overstrained and quickly worn out despite the large dimensions. A perfect shock transmission with a coupling rod interrupted by joints is not possible.
The disadvantages described above are basically eliminated by this; da.ss with an automatic buffer coupling whose coupling rod is axially resiliently guided in a housing containing a tension and shock suspension and in which the coupling head of the rod is pivotable on all sides with respect to the vehicle frame, according to the invention the housing in the vehicle frame all is pivoted on both sides.
On the one hand, to save on the overall height of the equipment and to make it as light as possible. To be able to, the housing can be connected to the vehicle frame by means of a universal joint, in which case the joint, which is designed with a passage opening for the pull and bumper that allows the mutual pivoting of the joint and the pull and push rod, is located inside the housing and in its one hinge axis carries the housing, while it is mounted on the vehicle frame in its other axial direction.
The per se known center setting of the height of the coupling head by means of a cushioning can be designed here so that the cushioning is arranged between the universal joint piece and the housing, with rubber rings being expediently provided as a resilient means between the joint piece and the housing, which appropriately hang to compensate for excess weight eccentrically zuein other arranged inner and outer circumference are formed. These rubber suspension means are expediently provided as so-called vibration metal rings.
For the center setting of the coupling head in the horizontal position, which is known per se with means of special springs, a resilient bellows body can be used, which connects the pull and push rod with the head support end wall, whereby all-sided mobility of the head rod is guaranteed and at the same time a seal of the passage opening in the head support for the bumper is achieved.
To explain the subject matter of the invention, this is shown in several examples of execution in FIGS.
An example of a Kurzanlenkungsaus implementation of the housing movable on all sides is shown in Fig. 1 in side view and in Fig. 3 in the associated plan view.
The dot-dash coupling head 1 is attached to the pull and push rod 3 protruding from the short housing part 2. The partially cut representations show. how the rod 3 is passed through the housing. In the housing part 4 opposite the coupling head, the compression springs are arranged on the rod 3 in such a way that they can absorb their tensile and impact loads in the same way. Buffer springs 5, ring springs 6 or as with the. Example according to Fig. 2 coil springs 7 or not here is asked screw, rubber and combined springs are used.
The springs are held on the continuous rod 3 by the spacer sleeve 8 outside the articulation of the housing 2, 1 and are arranged between the spring plates 9 and are pretensioned by the rod nut 10. The rod end is again axially guided by its nut 10 in the rear closure flange 11. In Fig. 2, if necessary, the longer articulation of the coupling head is ge shows. The housing is pivoted around its vertical pivot pin by 1800 C and the rod is carried out on the housing closure flange 11 for attaching the coupling head 1.
For the all-round movable articulation of the housing 2, 4 on the trolley frame 13, the joint piece 12 inserted through the large vertical bores in the housing hubs 14 and articulated in the housing with horizontal bolts 15 is used Axis. The articulated by means of the bolts 15 on the joint 12 housing 2, 1 rotates upwards and downwards about the horizontal axis of these bolts.
In order to pass the rod 3 (see also FIGS. 5 and 6) through the joint piece 12, it is hollow. The feedthrough opening 17 is ovally widened towards the outside 18, so that the rod 3 guided in the housing, including its sleeve 8, looks around. the horizontal axis can move freely up and down in the joint.
For automatic vertical centering of the housing and thus of the coupling head 1 (see FIGS. 5 and 6) to the universal joint C, piece 12 mounted in the trolley frame 13, metal rubber-metal suspension elements, so-called vibration-metal rings, are between the housing bores and hubs of the universal joint piece 19 and 20 are used. The metal sleeves of these suspension elements are. eccentric to each other by a few millimeters.
In accordance with this eccentricity, each spring element has a stronger and a weaker rubber side 19a or 20a and 19b or 20b. In the representations after. 5 and 6 the coupling head is intended to be arranged on the left. In order to support or compensate for the excess weight of the coupling head, the eccentric suspension elements are used in such a way that their larger rubber cross-section 19a and 20a counteracts the counter-clockwise rotating coupling head weight. The opposite small rubber cross-sections 19b and 20b are also subjected to tensile stress. By turning the suspension elements, the preload associated with the compensation of the coupling head weight can now be precisely adjusted.
In Fig. 6 it is shown how the suspension elements are stressed during the counterclockwise vertical movement of the housing. The larger rubber cross-sections 19a and 20a are pressed, while the opposite smaller rubber cross-sections 19b and 20b are pulled. : It can be seen that the restoring force of the suspension elements increases proportionally to their load.
The central adjustment of the horizontal position of the coupling head or the housing is now mostly taken over by the side stabilizers. But if this is switched off, the coupling head must be able to adjust automatically to the center. For this purpose, as shown in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, a bellows body, for. B. a rubber flange, between tween the coupling head 1 and the edge of the neces sary for the coupling head movement opening 22 of the car apron or panel. The rubber flange is designed to move the coupling head in all directions with corresponding oval folds that are molded in and so rigid that the back and center setting is guaranteed.
In addition to the all-round center reset, the corrugated rubber flange has the task of sealing the cutout in the car cladding so that the coupling head can be included in the bellows connection of two cars so that the wind cannot get into the car.
