Device for extracting gases and vapors.
In distillations under technical conditions, especially in vacuum distillations, the vapors developed in the bubble always have non-condensable gases added to them, which result from decomposition during the distillation process or from leaks in the apparatus. It is therefore not possible after the to switch off the pump at the desired pressure for the distillation, but rather one must continue sucking off the evolved or penetrated gases during the entire distillation process.
In order to avoid losses of material to be distilled, one or more cooler units with the lowest possible flow resistance will be connected between the bladder and the pump. In spite of this, the vacuum pump still draws out a quantity of vapor which can be calculated from the secondary delivery quantity of the pump, taking into account the partial pressure of the vapor at the outlet of the cooler.
In order to avoid contamination of the pump dureli len when the dew point is undersigned in its condensing vapor, it is advisable to use a gas ballast pump in accordance with DRP No. 702480 in which condensation does not take place, but all of the extracted vapor is lost or behind the pump can only be recovered by expensive absorption equipment.
The present invention now shows a simple way to avoid condensation of the extracted vapor in the pump and at the same time to recover most of the extracted vapor.
In the schematic illustration which shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, A is the connection to the distillation a. nlage, B and E are coolers - it is advisable to have cooling water flowing through them - through which the vapors sweep past and are brought almost to the cooling water temperature, so that the partial pressure of the steam after exiting the cooler is approximately the same. Is the saturation pressure at cooling water temperature.
C is a large and P is a small pump.
When pumps C and F are working at the same time, the gas mixture sucked in by pump C is dammed up in front of the pump.
As long as it is mainly air or inert gases at the start of the pumping process, they will be blown off into the open atmosphere by the backlash valve D. In the liabe, in which the pressure in the distillation plant is reduced, the air or water jammed between pumps C and ge also increases. Amount of gas from until finally the pressure between pumps C and X is less than the final pressure in the distillation system and the check valve D remains closed permanently.
With the onset of the distillation process, the extracted mixture consists mainly of steam, so instead of an increase in pressure, condensation of the steam now occurs in the cooler E arranged between pumps C and F. The amount of condensed steam can be calculated as follows:
Pump C rotates the volume Vc per second, pump F the volume Vp, so that the amount of steam γ drawn in by them secondarily. Vc and γ, respectively. VF is.
Since the cooling water temperature in the coolers B and E is the same, E γ (Vc-VF) condenses in the cooler. The ratio of the amount of steam recovered in the cooler E to the amount of steam sucked in by the pump C is called the efficiency of the system, that is: Y (Vc-VF) = 1-VF y. Vc, Vc
For example, if V is ten times as large as VF, @ = 0.9, i.e. 90 I / o of the extracted steam is recovered.
In addition, it is necessary that the working temperature of pump C is so high that the dew point of the steam in the gas-steam mixture never falls below it, and that additional congestion on the pressure side of the pump due to valves, constrictions, etc. be avoided. If the required heating of the pump is not done by the pumping process itself, it can be done by an additional heater, which may be automatically regulated. To avoid a blockage caused by valves, the pump can either be provided without a valve or with a valve that can be lifted from the outside or automatically.
In order to avoid contamination by the evacuated vapors, the pump F is expediently designed as a gas ballast pump, on the pressure side of which, if necessary, special devices for recovering the remaining quantities of vapor can be made. The advantage of the above-described arrangement compared to the use of a simple gas ballast pump lies in the low loss of steam (example: suction rate from pump C 150 m. 3 / hour; extracted steam: benzene; loss per hour 0.2 liters instead of 2 liters), Second, however, in the low power requirement due to the omission of the compression of the gas ballast in the large pump C.
This saving in power is so significant that it will often be useful to use the above-described arrangement even if, for example, in cable drying indoors or the like, no value is placed on the recovery of the extracted water vapor (example: suction volume from pump C 150 m2 / hour; power requirement with gas ballast at 1 mm suction pressure 2200 watts, without gas ballast 750 watts; suction rate from pump E 15 3 / hour; power requirement with gas ballast at 1 mm intake pressure 250 watts; power saving 55%).
In the case of very large plants, the same process can be repeated several times depending on the economic requirements.
A special embodiment of the subject matter of the invention consists in arranging the pumps on a common axis.
The compression of gases, especially air with intermediate cooling, is known.
However, it is a question of cooling the gases for the purpose of reducing the work required, but not of recovering extracted vapors from the gas ballast air or reducing the compression work.
