Les articulationsdu bras'20 sur la biellette 'M. et de cette dernière sur le support 4, repré sentées en détailà, la3, sont prévues de manièreà assurer une positioli parfaitement verticalede l'axe de rotation de la roue inter médiaire.A cet. effet, ces articulations présen tent chacune un canon 28 solidaire de la biel- lette 21 et traversé par un axe d'articulation 29. De cette manière, la biellette est guidéeà chacune de, ces articulation.,;

Device for driving a record player. To realize a drive device for the turntable that is simpler and (1.1111 COU lower than the solutions which include gears, various constructions of talking machines have studied drive devices by friction. devices generally include an intermediate wheel mechanically connected to the shaft of a motor and the periphery of which is provided with a rubber coating in contact with the edge of the plate.
Some manufacturers have inserted between the motor shaft and the intermediate wheel a speed cliatigenient making it possible to drive the plaleau, record players at will at one of the three speeds normal (78 revolutions / miniute, 45 fours / minute and 331 /, # revolutions / minute)
. Some of these speed changes have a movable support carrying several rotating bodies driven by the motor shaft and which can be successively brought into rubbing contact with said intermediate wheel. The latter works in a horizontal plane.
These drive devices can be classified into two different types depending on the speed change used. One has one or more belts connecting the motor shaft to the rotating bodies, the other rotating bodies driven by friction by the drive shaft.
Finally, other devices comprise a single rotating body. with several steps dragged by the motor shaft. The intermediate wheel, in frictional contact with said rotating body and the edge of the turntable, is mounted on a support capable of being moved vertically, so as to place the intermediate wheel alternately in several horizontal planes corresponding to the planes of the various stages of the. rotating body. This solution has the drawback of requiring a very high edge turntable and, consequently, difficult to. to machine and bulky.
The drive device, object of the present invention, differs from known devices by the fact that it comprises a friction drum coaxial with said intermediate wheel and, integral with the latter, a Friction ga let à - adins integral with Farbre It r motor and a single rotary member mounted on a movable support and in rubbing contact with said friction drum on the one hand , and, on the other hand, according to the position of the movable support with one of the steps of the friction roller carried by the motor shaft. The intermediate wheel therefore works in a single horizontal plane.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically and to by way of example -a eution form of the drive device.
The lig. 1 is a perspective view with parts of the talking machine removed for clarity of the drawing.
Fig. 2 is a detail view, certain parts being seen in section. Fig. 3 is a partial sectional view of a detail.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view of the lock fixing the positions of the control member defining the vertical positions of servie.e of the mobile support.
Fig. 5 is a partial plan view of the device, illustrating the relative positions of these elements when the actuator is in the. position It.
Figs. 6 and 7 including diagrams illustrating the relative positions of the elements of the device seen in plan when the working unit is placed, facing the marks < B> 1 and III respectively.
According to the attached drawing, the turntable 1 rotates freely on a vertical axis 2 integral with the base plate 2 of the talking machine.
A -11 motor rigidly fixed to a support 4 suspended from the base plate 3, has a motor shaft 5 < / B> vertical through the support 4 by an opening 6. This shaft is provided with a friction roller having three steps gl, g2, gs.
A mobile support 7 carries a rotating body 8 freely rotated on a vertical axis 9 rigidly fixed to the support 7. </ B > This dei-nier still carries a guide rod 10 sant and grout. pivoting in a socket 11, rigidly fixed to the support 4. The lower end of this rod 10 rests on a member of control C having three areas pl, P-2, P3 and pivoted at 13 on the support 4. This control member C has a control member # work 14 and a guide light 15 in which a fixed, rigidly a-Li support 4 is engaged mid finger 16 .
A locking device is provided to fix the three working positions of the control member, and for each of which the end of the rod 10 rests on one of the areas pl, p2 , p ##. This locking device comprises a ball 17 (fig. 4) engaged in a drilling 18 of the support 4 and subjected to the action of 'a leaf spring 19 slitting to keep it in contact with the underside of the control member and in the tilt on three:
, per- e-ages dl, d #, d #, practiced in the said control organ and presenting a dianiètre iii.- smaller than that (the ball 17.
An arm '-) 0 is articulated by the one of its ends on a billet 21 and carries at its other end an intermediate wheel 22, </ B > provided with a rubber coating iii. lia link 21 is articulated,;
pulling the support 4 and a spring 2j ") tends to maintain the third wheel, in contact with the edge 21 said turntable plate L < / B> The intermediate wheel is pivoted free- iiieiit on Him axis' _ _25 integral CI -ii I) i:
a #, 20 it carries a friction drum 26 intended to be driven in rotation by the rotating body 8 provided with a rubber coating- ml.
The joints of the arm '20 on the link 'M. and of the latter on the support 4, shown in detail to, the 3, are provided so to ensure a perfectly vertical position of the axis of rotation of the intermediate wheel. A </ B > this. In fact, these articulations each have a barrel 28 integral with the connecting rod 21 and traversed by an articulation axis 29. In this way, the connecting rod is guided to each of these articulation.,;
by the 29 axis pre- binding support on a bearing whose length is a high multiple (greater than 33) of the diameter of this axis.
The operation known as the device described is as follows: For the command Forg lie position C shown in the drawing, the guide band 10 rests on the range pi and the rotating body 8 is kept in contact, by the action of the spring 23, with the drum with friction 26, on the one hand, and ', on the other hand, with the -radin g, of the friction roller carried by the shaft engine 5.
Thus, a mechanical link is established between the motor shaft and the turntable. The diameter of the step g, is set so to obtain a rotation speed of the plate 1 of 33 l /, #, turns / mintite.
By moving the actuator from position I to the position IL Fuisager causes the rise of the guide rod 10 which comes to rest on the range For this position, the rotary member s is el, contact with the grain fi ,, and the plate .1 . is driven at speed (the 45 rpm / iiiinute.
[> yes- allow the passage of said rotating body from one to the other of the roller to frie- tion, it is necessary that it be temporarily removed (the latter.
_, 1 this effect, the support 7 carries a finger (the command 32 intended to be jetioiiiié by teeth 33 aiiiéna, () , ées sair Viiii (the lateral edges of For.miie de eoiiiiiiaiffle C. These teeth are arranged from iiia- iiière to act on the finger command 32 in order to provoke an angular displacement of the support,
s -1 7 counterclockwise when the end of the guide rod 10 slides on ramps 34 connecting the areas pl, p, 1) ,, When the actuator 14 is located opposite the reference 111, the rotary organ 8 is soiiiiiltly in contact with step f1, # and the friction drum,
so that the platter is driven at the speed of 78 revolutions / iiiinute.
-zliiis, i, the intermediate wheel is kept toiijoiirs at the same level. This device of etiti-senioriieiiieilt therefore allows the use of a rotating plat- teati -disks at edge of normal height. It is that the device described has a smaller footprint and greater ease of machining the turntable than the
devices proposed to date and comprising a rotating body to #gradins and united intermediate wheel dep, 1a # able vertically.
E, rifin, the schematic plan view and the .whéiiias (Figs. 5 to 7 illustrating the three relative positions occupied by the roller, driving the rotating body 8 and the intermediate wheel 22, show that for the three operating positions of the rotary body 8, the working conditions of the members of the device remain practically the same.
Indeed, the point of contact of the intermediate wheel 22 on the edge * 24. of the plateau 1 undergoes the] on- displacement of the plateau of a practically negligible amplitude.
TI is the same for the contact points c and d (him rotating body 8 on the friction drum 26 and, of the stepped roller on the rotating body. 11 it follows that the angles e and f formed by the rays projected on the plane and passing through these points of contact ,, c, d and by the axes of rotation 5, 9 and, < B> 25 of the intermediate wheel, the rotating body and the , grained roller, remain practically constant, whatever the driving speed of the turntable.
In addition, the very great simplicity of the described drive device makes it possible to carry out a very robust drive for the record player plate of a talking machine and which, moreover, has a very low cost price given the simplicity of the components used and their number restricted to the maximum.
