Shuttle for sewing machine. The present invention relates to a shuttle for a sewing machine, of the type comprising a rotary bowl having a hook, as well as a bobbin support guided by bearings formed in the bowl. In a shuttle of this type, the bobbin holder is held fixed by at least one stop.
In addition, in these shuttles, an opening is always provided, on the one hand, in the bowl and, on the other hand, in the bobbin holder, for the passage of the thread. However, the presence of these openings is the cause of a frictional imbalance between the cup and the bobbin support, an imbalance causing vibrations and, therefore, noise during the hopscotch of the machine to sew.
When such a shuttle is intended to cooperate with a stop device to free escape in particular, that is to say a positive device allowing the passage of the wire forming the loop around the stopper (s), without resistance being exerted on it, it can also happen that the bobbin support is subjected to vibrations giving rise to to some operating noise.
The shuttle according to the invention aims to remedy to this drawback. It is characterized by the fact that it comprises a spring-forming device, permanently clamping the bobbin support over the entire length of said seats of the bowl, so as to exert an action of braking damping vibrations likely to be imparted to the bobbin holder.
Certain shuttles are already known in which one of the bearings provided either in the bowl or on the bobbin support is held in place by means of a device forming a spring. However, in all known shuttles of this type, the maintaining said bearing in position by means of a spring device is only provided to prevent the blocking of the the shuttle resulting from the engagement of one or more threads between said bearing surfaces, during the operation of the sewing machine.
In addition, with such a construction, when a wire is engaged between the litters of the cup and of the bobbin holder, it suffices to exert on it -a certain traction so that the scope, held in place by the positive device to spring back, give way a little and let the thread slip out.
However, in these known shuttles, the braking action is not exerted by the spring device to damp vibrations, because no clamping of two bearing surfaces sliding against each other is caused by the spring device.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by by way of examples, several embodiments of the shuttle according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view showing a first embodiment of the shuttle and a stop device with free exhaust mounted in the lower arm of a machine to sew.
Fig. 2 is a schematic section on enlarged scale made according to II-II of fig. 1. The fig.ô is a partial section of a second embodiment, and fig. 4 a partial section of the third embodiment.
With reference to fig. 1 and 2, the shuttle shown comprises a rotating bowl 1 fixed to an axis 2 driven in rotation to from Lin tree 3. On the edge of this bowl 1 is formed a hook 4. The bowl 1 is provided, in its part inside, with a rib 5 (fig. 2) whose upper and lower f aces constitute two staves for the support 6 of the bobbin 7. This 6 bobbin holder consists of two main parts, a part 8 or lower cap and a part 9 or upper capsule.
These two parts 8 and 9 are -connected by screws 1-0.
The bobbin 7 is housed inside inside the two parts 8 and 9.
The bobbin holder 6 is guided by the rib 5 thanks to its two parts 8 and 9 which are tight on either side of said rib 5.
To prevent a gap between the bobbin holder 6 and the rib 5, the two parts 8 and 9 < / B> are elastically clamped against the two opposite faces of said rib.
Indeed, a to coil spring 11 is threaded onto each of the screws 10 and bears, on the one hand, against the head 12 of the corresponding screw and, on the other hand, against an edge 13 provided at the bottom of the bore 14 serving as a housing for the screw 1.0 and the spring 11.
Each screw 10 has two spans, one, 1-5, determining the maximum tightening position of the screw in part 8, </ B > and the other, 16, serving to guide the coil spring to 11 and at the same time limiting Fé * </ B > separation of the two pieces 8 and 9 by coming up against the edge 13. As is visible at the fig. 1, the ship according to the first embodiment is intended to cooperate with. a stopper device to free escape of the wire forming the loop.
A For this purpose, the bobbin holder 6 is provided with a part 17 having two parts constituting stops 18 </ B > and 19 successively cooperating with two hooks 20 and 21 of the stop device to free exhaust. This is only described in broad outline here, as it is the subject of Swiss Patent No. 246260.
The two hooks 20 and 21 are integral with a yoke 22 mounted on dovetails 23 and 24. An arm 25 fixed to l The caliper 22 is maintained by a spring 27, in contact with a cam 26 fixed to the shaft 3. </ B>
The oscillating movement of the exhaust device is therefore transmitted to it by the same shaft 3 driving the hook in rotation, 4.
Due to the braking caused by the elastic tightening of the two parts 8 and 9 of the bobbin holder against the rib 5 of the cup < B> 1, the oscillations or vibrations to which the paddle support 6 could be subjected are damped and the operation of the machine is smooth and noise-free.
It is to to further note that the elastic tightening of the seats of the bobbin holder 6 against the seats of the cup 1 < / B> allows easy release of any strand of wire pinched between said spans.
Figs. 3 and 4 of the drawing represent two other forms of execution of the shuttle.
A in fig. 3, the shuttle comprises a eu- vette 1 having a groove 28. The bobbin holder 6 is also formed of two main parts 8 and 9. These each have a flange 29, respectively 30, </ B > which are engaged in the groove 28. A centering pin 31 is provided on part 8 and is engaged in a hole < B> 32 of room 9. In addition, a housing. 3â is provided in each room 8 and 9 and a spring 34, introduced in these housings, tends to move the parts 8 and 9 apart from one of the other.
On the other hand, a 35 plate is fixed by screws 36 on the bowl 1 to maintain the support of </ B > bobbin in groove 28.
Of course two or more springs 34 are provided on the periphery of the bobbin holder. Thus, the springs 34 tend to elastically tighten the flanges 29 and 30 respectively against the underside of the groove 28 </ B> and against the plate 35, forming the bearing surfaces of the bowl. The braking, produced by this elastic clamping, is useful to dampen the vibrations likely to be imparted to the 6 bobbin holder.
The shuttle shown partially and in a section to in FIG. 4 shows a bowl 1 of elm similar to that of FIG. 3. This euvette also has a groove 28. The bobbin holder 6 is in one piece and has a 37 engaged in the groove 28. This flange 37 is provided with a thickness greater than than the depth of the groove 28. A plate 35 holds the bobbin holder 6 in the groove 28. This plate 35 </ B> is elastically tightened against the flange 37 by screws 38 whose end is fixed to a
blade spring 39.
As in the previous embodiments, the clamping of the flange 37 between the bottom of the groove 28 and the plate 35, constituting the bearing surfaces of the bowl, exerts a braking action damping vibrations from being imparted to the bobbin holder 6.
The clamping action, instead of being exerted parallel to the axis of rotation of the bowl, could be exerted transversely or at an angle in the case where the surfaces of the bowl and the support of bobbin would themselves be bevelled for example.
In all the different forms of execution described above, it was always a question of a shuttle cooperating with a positive stop device called to free exhaust . However , it goes without saying that a shuttle such as those described above could be applied to sewing machines provided with stop or exhaust devices other than that shown to in fig. 1. It is also understood that the shuttles described, instead of being with vertical axis of rotation, could be at </ B> tilted or horizontal axis of rotation.
