D'autre part, du fait que l'ouvrier tisseur aura devant lui, sur chaque face de la ma chine, pour tous les métiers individuels situés sur cette face ( c'est-à-dire la moitié du nom- bre total des éléments clé la machine), tout le cheminement des fils depuis le déroulement de la. chaîne jusqu'à l'enroulement du tissu, et les nappes de fils de ces métiers étant toutes proches les unes des autres, grâce à l'imbriquage des métiers individuels, ledit ouvrier pourra, pour un métier déterminé, ré parer un fil cassé, remettre en route le métier, surveiller la reprise du tissu, s'occuper de son rouleau de chaîne sans avoir à effectuer, comme pour les métiers classiques, le tour du métier;

Multi-production weaving machine. The invention relates to a weaving machine. multiple production elements (twenty for example) assembled to each other so as to constitute one and the same set, each of these elements comprising a vertical arrangement of the warp threads delivered by a beam placed at the lower part, and a horizontal comb moving vertically.
This machine is characterized in that the production elements are constituted by individual looms grouped side by side and back to back on a common frame, the so-called individual looms, designed for this assembly, each ensuring the manufacture in an autonomous manner. of the fabric in a vertical plane by means of a weft introduced by passing a shuttle on a horizontal comb, immobilized during this crossing between the two layers of divided yarns of the warp placed vertically, the launch of the shuttle s' performing from fixed boxes.
Preferably, the. Fixed shuttles of the looms arranged side by side are arranged two by two on a common support, one - next to the other, so as to achieve, by means of a corresponding offset of the combs and the layers of warp threads, an interlocking of each individual trade in relation to the two contiguous trades between which it is included.
In a preferred embodiment in each individual loom, the comb, independent of the shuttle boxes, performs a reciprocating up-and-down movement, so as to allow, in its lower immobilized position, the comb. passage of the shuttle and, in its upper position, the clamping of the pick against the face.
A weaving machine having the characteristics mentioned above offers numerous and important advantages. The space requirement, the weight of the material, the number of parts it contains are considerably reduced for a machine bringing together a certain number of individual production elements, compared with the same number of looms arranged in isolation; the assembly costs are. notably reduced; the cost price of the. machine is much lower than that of isolated trades; the cost of the installation of motive power is also much lower, a single electric motor being able to control all the production elements whose assembly forms the weaving machine; transmissions are considerably simplified; reduced driving force consumption, etc.
The wise lubrication is greatly facilitated, a centralized lubrication installation being made possible for all the production elements of the. machine, etc.
On the other hand, due to the fact that the worker weaver will have in front of him, on each face of the machine, for all the individual looms situated on this face (that is to say half of the total number of elements key the machine), all the thread routing from the unwinding of the. warp until the fabric is rolled up, and the layers of threads of these looms being all close to each other, thanks to the interlocking of the individual looms, said worker may, for a given trade, repair a broken thread, restart the loom, monitor the resumption of the fabric, take care of your chain roll without having to go around the loom, as with conventional looms;
in addition, the layers of son of individual looms being all close to each other thanks to the interlocking of the individual looms, the displacement. from one trade to another will correspond to half of the usual route. Ultimately, the worker's journey will be greatly reduced.
In a particular embodiment, the signaling of stoppages due to the warp, to the weft and to mechanical causes could not only be carried out on each individual loom, in a known manner, but be electrically centralized on a single table for all the individual component trades. the weaving machine. The central signaling panels of four machines can even be grouped together at the end of these machines, so as to. be able to be supervised by a person placed at the intersection of the two. corresponding spans.
The automatic weft feeding of each individual loom can be achieved by providing it with a mechanism of any known kind of change of cans or change of shuttles.
- An automatism of. weft feed can. be carried out for the entire set of individual business keys (twenty for example) constituting. the weaving machine.
This goal can be achieved for example by means of an arrangement for each face of the. ma chine de weaving, from an upper conveyor receiving the full cans or shuttles (depending on whether the replacement of the weft is carried out by change of cans or by change of shuttles) from a central supply station placed at one end of the machine and ensuring distribution to: @ individual trades stores, and iii lower carrier receiving cans or spent shuttles and ensuring collection.
In addition, the path of full cans or shuttles, on the one hand, and that of exhausted cans or shuttles, on the other hand, can be ensured by the upper strand and the lower strand, respectively, of a single and same carrier.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the weaving machine which is the subject of the invention, as well as a variant of detail.
Fig. 1 is an overall view, in plan, showing the general arrangement of said embodiment.
Fig. ? is a corresponding view in front elevation.

Fig. 15 is a plan view showing the centralization of the signaling of stops of various kinds of all the individual looms of four weaving machines.
Fig. 16 is a corresponding elevational view, and FIG. 17 shows, from the front, a central signaling panel.
In the fi-. 1 and 2 representing, respectively in plan over and in vertical elevation, said embodiment of the weaving machine, it can be seen that this results from the union, in one and the same set, of twenty elements production, that is to say twenty. individual trades, divided into two groups arranged back to back, of ten A and Ai trades respectively.
For this purpose, the machine has lanyards 1-1 and. 2-2 (see also fig. 3) extending over the total length of the machine, respectively to the lower part and to the upper part. On these spars are fixed end frames 3 and adjoining frames 4, each of the latter serving to support the various bodies of four individual trades, the two trades located on the. same face of the machine being arranged on either side of the adjoining frame.
All the production elements of the machine have a vertical unwinding of the chain 5 from bottom to top, 6 designating the flexible chain, placed at the bottom, and 7 the roller placed at the top, on which wraps fabric 8.
As emerges more clearly from FIG. 3, in each production element, the chain 5, unwinding from the beam 6, suitably braked by known means, passes over son-carrying rollers 9 and 10 between which is formed a horizontal path where they are son are controlled by chain breaker 11; the roller 10 can be mechanically controlled so as to be raised to relieve the warp threads when the pitch is opened. The warp threads pass through horizontal blades 12 and 12 'for the. formation of the. crowd, then a noticeably hori zontal comb 13.
The fabric formed, 8, maintained in width by templets 1-l, is. called by a cylinder dre 15 and is wound on the roller 7 which, as the fabric is produced, rises in the fork-shaped slides 16 fixed to the upper part of the frame. The blades 12 and 12 ', supported by horizontal slides not shown, are controlled by means of levers 17 and 17' with rollers, by eccentrics 18 and 18 ', and returned by springs 19 and 19'.
20 is the shuttle which travels through the shed sliding on the comb 13, slightly inclined towards the inside of the loom so that the shuttle rests, during its race, against a guide wall 21 integral with the comb and lined with velvet.
The beating comb 13 of each production unit is carried by swords 22 (see also fig. 5) oscillating around axes 23 Under the action of cams 21 wedged on the main shaft 25 and acting on rollers 26 soli daires of said swords. In fig. 3, the comb of the production element A located on the front face is shown in the up position to operate the clamping of the pick against the face, while the comb of the production element A1 located on the rear face is shown in the stop position, the position in which the shuttle passes through the shed sliding on the comb 13 which is momentarily immobile.
The control of all the production elements of the machine is ensured by a common shaft 27 driven by an electric motor 27a placed at the end and transmitting by belts 28 its control to the individual drive pulleys 29 of the different elements. production, said pulleys being, of course, combined with clutches, In order to reduce the size of the machine in the longitudinal direction, by reducing the gap between the layers of fabric on the same side, it is advantageous to group in pairs, on a common support, one next to the other, the shuttle boxes of two contiguous individual looms,
so as to achieve an interleaving of each individual trade with respect to the trades between which it is included, as emerges in particular from FIGS. 1 and 2, 4 and 5.
Thus, each of the two fixed shuttle boxes 30-30 of the loom A shown in the middle of FIGS. 4 and 5 is disposed on the same support as those 30a and 30 "respectively of the contiguous looms and in front of them, each of said supports being fixed by its middle on the corresponding adjoining frame 4. The comb 13 of the loom A is correspondingly offset outward from those 13a and 13 "of adjoining looms. This explains why in fi-. 3 appear, in addition to the shuttles in operation in the tablecloths represented by looms II and A1, those of contiguous looms.
The launching of the shuttles is carried out, in the machine shown, by devices with lower caster, called saber devices. Such a positive, of a well-known type, comprises a saber 31 at the upper end of which is fixed a cleat 32 shuttle-hunting. At its lower part, the saber 31 is fixed to a 3: 1 shoe whose curvilinear sole rests on the upper horizontal face of a support 34, which has the effect of giving the launching cleat 32 a rectilinear trajectory. The hunting shaft 35, controlled from the main shaft 25 by gears 36-37, carries a plate 38 provided with a boss 39 or a cam nose.
The beak 39 acts on a roller 40 of an arm 41 which, by a reference to articulated levers 42-43, acts on a piece 44 which is solidly connected to the saber 31. The stroke of the saber for launching the shuttle is limited. by a buffer 45 fixed to the adjoining frame 4 and of sufficient length to act as a stop for the sabers of the two contiguous looms, which sabers are offset like the corresponding shuttle boxes. The return of each saber to the rest position is ensured by a roie belt 46 pulled by a spring. balance spring 47.
The automatic replacement of the weft is carried out, on each individual loom, by changing the cans. In a variant, this replacement of the frame is carried out by changing the shuttles.
In the. machine shown, and as seen. in fig. 6 and 7, a full bobbin 48, held in place by an oscillating bare retaining pallet 60, is pushed down into the shuttle 49 and drives out the empty bobbin 50. This change is obtained by lowering an udder 51 integral with two sliding rods 52 guided in supports 53.
The rods 52 are connected by a spacer 54 engaged by a fork lever 55 articulated at 56, and the other arm of which carries a roller 57 actuated by a cam 58 wedged on a shaft 59, reecting its movement of the main shaft 25 and put into action when a weft breaker or weft user orders the change.
To achieve automatic feeding, replacing the usual manual loading, of individual stores of everything]. 'All the production elements located on the same face of the machine, means are provided for bringing full cans to said stores and for dispose of ejected cans.
These means consist, in the embodiment shown, of two horizontal conveyors 61 and 62, preferably formed by the two upper and lower strands of the same conveyor. The full cans 4833, positioned lengthwise on the conveyor 61, come to the upper part of the individual magazine 63. A tic can 483 engages in this magazine only if a pallet 64 has been placed in a position 64 '(shown shown in dotted lines in fig. 7) such, above the conveyor, that it forces the bobbin to lie in the upper opening of the magazine 63.
This position 64 'of the. deflection pallet 64 est. obtained when, after a change has occurred, a bobbin 482 passes to 481 because the bobbin 481 is. itself replaced the bobbin 48. When the bobbin 482 passes into 481, it stops pressing on a control finger 65, the oscillation of which controls the pallet 64.
The exhausted tubes 50 are ejected into a corridor 66 which deposits them on the discharge conveyor 62, which brings them to a collecting container 1.03 (fig. 14) placed at the end of the tube. the machine.
The conveyor is formed, preferably, by an endless belt stretched over two louse lies each placed at one end of the machine; one of these pulleys is driving and receives a movement of speed appropriate to the consumption of cans. This conveyor, with strands 61 and 62, is carried by 11n support 67 fixed to the upper part of the machine. The support of the conveyor belt is provided by U-shaped longitudinal members, 68 and 69, of which. the side walls form guides for the ca nettes.
From place to place are provided rolling rolls 70 and 71 supporting the conveyor belt: Tie rods 72 ensure the suspension of the lower U fixed, on the other hand, to the individual ejection lanes 66.
In a variant in which the replacement of the weft is effected by changing the shuttles (fig. 8 and 9), the mechanism comprises a two-stage box, of which a front cheek 73 is fixed, while plates 74 and 75 can rise and fall simultaneously being, at this. indeed, integral with vertical sliding rods 76 each fitted with a lug 77 attacked by a fork 78, oscillating at 79, and including. the other arm carries a roller 80 actuated by a cam 81 wedged on a shaft 82 receiving its movement from the main shaft 25, and put into action when a weft breaker or a weft feeler commands the change.
Shuttle 83 including. the. The supply of weft is exhausted at the lower level of the box, a replacement shuttle 841 is on the upper level, and a second reserve shuttle 842 rests freely. on the latter.
When the shuttle change is triggered, the following operations occur: The reserve shuttle 842 is blocked against a fixed wall 85 by a receiving buffer 86, via a spring. 87, a push from a lever with two arms 88, able to pivot at 89, and itself actuated by a cam 90. A brake 91 of the exhausted shuttle 83 being released by means not shown, the box with two floors-descends so that the full shuttle 841 is placed in front of the launch cleat, instead of the exhausted shuttle 83.
The latter, passed to the lower floor at 74 ', is driven out by an ejector 92 consisting of two pushers wedged on a horizontal axis 93 receiving a pivoting movement, via a tie rod 94, of a lever 95 controlled by cam 96 and roller 97.
The empty shuttle 83 is thus expelled.
The new shuttle is launched, then the two-stage box goes up; the buffer 86 unlocks the shuttle 842 which falls into the upper stage of said box.
From a Tacon similar to. that exposed on the subject of the change of cans, the bibs>; full can. be transported by a conveyor belt 61, and empty shuttles evacuated by a conveyor belt 62. To perform the automatic replacement of the. reserve shuttle 842, a deflection pallet 98 is disposed at the end of one of the. arm of a lever 99 pivotally mounted at 100. The end of the other arm carries a key 101 which, normally pushed back by the.
shuttle 842 and then leaving the pallet 98 in the retracted position, causes, on the contrary, under the action of a spring, when the shuttle 842 is not in place, the pivoting of the lever 99 and the presentation of the pallet 98 on the conveyor 61 in the position shown in dotted lines at 98 'in FIG. 9, which allows the admission of a shuttle which, sliding in a corridor 126, arrives in the box in position 842. The fall of the spent shuttles 83 on the discharge conveyor 62 is guided by a corridor 102.
With regard to the supply of the conveyor 61 either in cans or in shuttles as the case may be, it is preferably carried out automatically by means of a device forming a magazine and distributor, placed at one end of the weaving machine. .
Such a device is shown, by way of example, in FIGS. 10 to 12, in the case where the weft change is effected by changing the cans.
The cans 48 are housed in a magazine 104 formed by an inclined corridor, opening up above the conveyor 61, and the shape of the cross section of which is indicated in dotted lines in FIG. 11. The ends of the threads of the various bobbins are stretched outwardly and fixed on a end-holder band 105 consisting of a tape similar to a card lining, stretched in the form of an endless band between two rollers 106 and 107 of which one, 106,
is integral with a ratchet wheel 108 by means of which forward movement is communicated to the belt 105 when a can is dispensed. Opposite the open lower end of the magazine-corridor 104 is arranged a pallet 109 against which the magazine bobbin coming into the opening of the latter comes to rest. The pallet 109, which can pivot around an axis 110 mounted in bearings integral with the support 67, carries a roller 111 raised at the appropriate time by one of the cams 112 fixed to the conveyor 61.
On an axis 113 also mounted on the support 67 is freely engaged the hub 114 of a rocking lever with two arms 115-115a. The arm 115a carries a roller 116 capable of being lifted at the appropriate time by one of the cams 112, so as to cause the downward tilting of the arm 115 terminated by a tooth 117 forming a pawl for the rock 108. The arm 115 also carries a finger 118 for controlling, when said arm swings down, the movable branch 119 of a scissor thread cutter.
Finally, the same arm 115 carries it buffer 120, subjected to the action of a torsion spring 121 and intended to put pressure on the end of the cut thread of the bobbin distributed on the conveyor 61, so as to engage said end of yarn in a comb 122 consisting of a piece of cardboard packing attached to said conveyor. If we consider, for example, the. square 1121, its passage under the roller 111 of the pallet 109 caused the latter to rise and, as a result, caused an e.anet 48 to fall in 481 thanks to. the momentary deletion of the pallet 109.
The same cam 1121, then passing under the roller 116 of the rocking lever 115-115a, caused, on the one hand, the sinking of the weft thread in the comb 122, on the other hand hand, the cutting of the thread by the thread cutter 119 and, in addition, the. control of the ratchet 108 by the pawl 117, so as to advance the end-holder band 105 by the desired interval.
A similar device can be provided for the distribution of the shuttles on the conveyor in the event of a change of shuttles.
With regard to the centralized signaling permitted by the. design of the weaving machine and which is shown in fig. 1: 5, 16 and 17, it can be seen that in addition to the usual devices 123 mounted on each individual loom and indicating stoppages due either to the warp, or to the weft, or to mechanical causes, it is possible to have in At the end of each weaving machine, a centralizing table 124 on which the various incidents relating to all the individual looms on both sides of the machine are indicated.
In fig. 17, the numbers 1, 2, etc. different colors depending on the nature of the reported incident, which causes the corresponding window to light up. A supervisor placed at 125 can thus control the four double panels 124 or, in the case shown, eighty individual trades.
It should be noted that the grouped design of the machine makes it possible to adapt a centralized automatic lubrication to it by a device similar to those used on motor vehicles.
