B. Eisenoxyden, besteht, in irgendeiner Weise aufgetragen, z.
Sound carriers for magnetic sound recordings. It is known to produce disk-shaped death carriers for magnetic sound recordings from paper or metal. The former, however, do not have a long service life and are therefore initially unsuitable for use in automatic speaking machines and telephonographs. In the case of the disc-shaped sound carriers made of metal, however, the two poles and speech cores are only guaranteed to rest on a relatively large contact pressure, which in turn results in rapid wear of both the plate and the speech cores.
The subject of the present invention is a magnetic sound carrier, expediently in the form of a plate or roller, which has both a long service life and in which, moreover, the constant contact of both poles of the speech cores and thus excellent reproduction is guaranteed even with low contact pressure. The sound carrier according to the invention is characterized in that the magnetizable layer is attached directly to an elastic base and is mechanically firmly connected to this, together with a body that is rigid compared to the base, to form a unit.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the present invention will now be explained with reference to the accompanying schematic drawing. It shows, on a greatly enlarged scale and in a distorted representation, a partial section through a magnet carrier and a speech core. In the drawing, 1 denotes a solid base, e.g. B. made of aluminum sheet, 2 an elastic intermediate layer, for. B. made of natural or synthetic rubber, thermoplastic material or the like. Another magnetizable layer 3 is applied to the intermediate layer 2. The poles of the speech core 4 are denoted by 5 and fi. The manufacture of the magnetic sound carrier can, for.
B. be carried out so that a rubber layer 2 is vulcanized onto one or the surfaces of the aluminum disc 1. The layer 3, which consists of a mixture of rubber and magnetizable material, e.g. B. iron oxides, is applied in any way, e.g. B. painted on or sprayed on.
This layer 3 is firmly connected to the intermediate layer 2 by vulcanization to form a uniform whole, so that a plate is obtained in which on the one hand the magnetizable material is completely evenly distributed in the layer 3 and in which the various layers are underneath and finite the base are firmly connected. In order to achieve a perfect connection of the Schich th, it is useful to use a vulcanizable material for the intermediate layer 2 and as part of the layer 3.
The explanations made for a plate-shaped magnetic sound carrier naturally also apply to differently shaped sound carriers, especially those that have the shape. of rollers or cylinders. Merely as an example it should be mentioned that the elastic layer 2 made of rubber, thermoplastic material or the like can be about 1 mm thick. The layer 3 is much thinner and consists, for. B. of 30% rubber or thermoplastic material and 70l magnetizable material. When using thermoplastic material, the layers 2, 3 are fused together.
The elasticity of the surface obtained in this way ensures that the speaker core poles rest even with small contact pressures of e.g. B. 10 to 20 g. This increases the service life of both the sound carrier and the speech cores and ensures perfect playback. Another advantage is that the sound reproduction ments against vibrations that z. B. derive from the drive can be much less sensitive.
