Description
Beiliegende Zeichnung zeigt beisriels- weise in
Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht der Perforierkante einer Perforierrolle.
Method and device for producing a tight, easy-to-open container closure and container closure produced according to the method.
The present invention relates to a method for producing a tight, easy-to-open container closure, according to which the lid and the container body are flanged together. According to the invention, in preparation for the separation of the lid and the container body, the last, e, is weakened after the flanging. This weakening is particularly advantageous in cardboard containers, where the hollow lid with conical sealing surface can be lifted off and put on again and again after cutting through the weakening using a conventional knife or other device, while maintaining the tight seal between the conical fitting surfaces.
The device for carrying out the method, which is equipped with hemming rollers, a scoring head and hemming plate, has, according to the invention, a perforating roller for viewing the container.
The invention also relates to the container closure produced by the method.
The accompanying drawing shows, for example, in
Fig. 1 schematically shows part of the device with which the method can be practiced, in
Fig. 2 shows a section through the finished closure and in
Figure 3 is a plan view of the perforating edge of a perforating roller.
The cover 1 made of cardboard material or made of metal has a conical fitting surface 2 which, when assembled, rests on a fitting surface 3 of the cardboard container body 4. The container body 4 has a horizontal, ring-shaped edge 14. The cover 1 also has such a horizontal edge 15 which is slightly bent downwards on the outside. The lid 1, which is placed on the container body 4 placed on the folding plate 7, is pressed into the container body by means of the folding head 5 by moving the folding plate 7 upwards. The mating surfaces 2 and 3 are manufactured so precisely that they alone ensure an absolutely tight seal without flanging.
If the hemming head 5 and hemming plate 7 are rotated with the container and the hemming roller 6 moves against the edge of the cover, then a double-folded flange according to FIG. 3 is produced by rolling in the edges 14 and 15.
When the flanging is finished, the hemming roller 6 is moved back around and the perforating roller 10 starts at the finished flanging. This perforating roller has a perforating edge 11 (Fig. 3) which, when the container body rotates, produces a weakening 13 in the container body immediately below the finished beaded edge, i.e. at a distance above the lid base, which by means of a conventional knife or other instrument separates Container body and lid allowed easily and without damaging the latter. The cover can thus be repeatedly lifted off and placed on after it has been separated, while maintaining the tight seal between the conical fitting surfaces 2 and 3.
This weakening is carried out after the flanging has been completed; the groove 16 of the roller 10 is therefore so deep that its base does not come into contact with the flange.
If the weakening were to be carried out before the cover was inserted or while the sleeve was being manufactured, then there would be a risk of damage to the weakened container when the latter is pressed in or crimped.
In the case of internal crimps, too, the weakening can take place according to the procedure after crimping by means of a perforating roller.
