Off-center rotor machine with oscillating vane. The invention relates to a machine with an eccentric rotor and a controlled vane oscillating around an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor, this vane having, on the side of the rotor, a face extending from and the other of the axis of oscillation of the pallet, one of the longitudinal edges of this pallet cooperating with the peripheral surface of the rotor.
The machine according to the invention, which could be a pump, in particular a compressor, is characterized in that the aforesaid face of the pallet forms part of the walls delimiting a space of variable volume of the machine which cooperates with an evacuation orifice , the pallet being thus arranged so that its edge cooperating with the peripheral surface of the rotor is located, relative to the plane not sant by the axis of oscillation of the pallet and by the axis of rotation of the rotor,
on the side towards which its direct, during the rotation of the rotor, the points of the peripheral surface of the latter which pass between the aforesaid axes. The drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the machine according to the invention and three variants of this embodiment.
Figs. 1, 2 and 3 show this embodiment constituted by a compressor, respectively in cross section, in partial side view and in section according to III-III FIG. 2.
Figs. 4, 5 and 6 each show a cross section of one of the three variants. The compressor shown in fig. 1 to 3 comprises a stator 1 comprising an internal cylindrical chamber 2 and supporting, using rolling bearings 3 having the same axis as the stator, a shaft carrying a cylindrical rotor 4, of circular section and eccentric so as to be tangent to the wall of the chamber 2.
The rotor has, in front of its most eccentric part, in the direction of rotation, a shoulder 18, parallel to its axis and tines to sweep the solid particles that can be sucked into the stator, and to lead them towards the discharge port.
A cavity 5, formed in the stator, opens into the chamber 2, between two generators A and B of the wall of this chamber 2 spaced approximately 90 degrees apart. This cavity 5 communicates with a duct 7 for sucking gaseous fluid.
A pallet 8 carried by a shaft 9 is mounted in this cavity. 5 so as to see it oscillate around the axis of this shaft 9, which is parallel to that of the rotor shaft.
This pallet has, on the rotor side, a concave face which extends on either side of the axis of the shaft 9 between the longitudinal rectilinear edges C and D, parallel to the axis of the shaft. 9, of this palette. This face comprises, in the vicinity of each of its longitudinal edges, coinciding with the edges C and D of the pallet, a part tangent to a plane passing through the axis of the shaft 9.
The shaft 9 is arranged relative to the vane 8 so that the pressures acting on the latter are at least partially balanced and this vane is controlled so that its edge C remains in constant contact with the peripheral surface of the rotor (possibly with a very small play, of the order of one to a few hundredths of a millimeter) during the rotation of said rotor.
The pallet 8 is controlled by the rotor shaft by means of a crank 10, wedged on the rotor shaft and whose crank pin 11 is coaxial with this rotor, from an arm 12 wedged on the shaft 9 of the pallet and a connecting rod 13 connecting the crank pin 11 to a second crank pin 14, carried by the arm 12, and having for axis the extension of the edge constituting the edge C, in contact with the peripheral surface of the rotor; from pallet 8:
The control of the vane only has to overcome a little more than the torque due to its polar inertia, since the pressures exerted on this vane are, in part, balanced. Said polar inertia of the pallet can be reduced to a minimum by the use, to constitute it, of a very light material, such as magnesium.
The edge C, in contact with the peripheral surface of the rotor of the vane, is located, with respect to the plane passing through the axis of oscillation of the vane and through the axis of rotation of the rotor, on the side towards which during the rotation of the rotor, the points of the peripheral surface of the latter which pass between the two aforesaid axes. In this way, the concave face, directed towards the rotor, of the vane forms part of the walls delimiting the compression space of the compressor.
Thanks also to this arrangement, we obtain @ an excellent slow guiding of the fluid threads, both at the entry and at the exit, the walls of the pallet correctly guiding these threads.
Furthermore, any risk of accident due to the bracing .de the vane against the rotor is avoided.
The ridge edge C of the pallet 8 results from the intersection of two cylindrical surfaces of this pallet, thanks to which the machining of the pallet is facilitated.
On the other hand, the edge C of the pallet being an edge, the control mechanism of this pallet is easy to establish precisely, since it is easy to make the axis of the crankpin 14 coincide with the extension of this edge. vs.
The pallet has, along its edge D opposite the edge C, a lip 15, the outer face of which is a part of the axis revolving cylinder coinciding with the axis of the shaft 9, and of which the edge constituting edge D is one of the generators. This outer face of the lip 15 is in contact with a corresponding cylindrical wall of the cavity 5, this wall constituting a lens in which an orifice 16 is formed leading to the delivery pipe 6. The lip 15 therefore remains in contact with the lens. when it moves following the oscillations of the pallet.
The orifice 16 has the shape of a rectangle quadrilateral having two sides parallel to the edge D.
The arrangement is such that the lip 15 blocks the orifice -1-6 completely at the moment when the most eccentric part of the rotor leaves the generator A or very shortly after and begins to open this orifice when the most eccentric part eccentric of the rotor has exceeded the generator B by a given amount, so by the time the compression space has already decreased by a certain amount.
Thus, the short-circuiting of the suction with the discharge, which normally is prevented by the vane 8, is also prevented by means of the lip 15 during the period where, due to the momentary position of the rotor for which the most eccentric part of the latter is between the generators A and B, there would be a communication between the inlet port and the discharge orifice through the space between the rotor and the stator.
In addition, this arrangement prevents a flow of gas from the duct 6 to the compression space between the rotor, the stator and the vane, as long as this space contains gas at too low a pressure. Furthermore, it is easy to see that the section of the orifice 16 uncovered by the lip 15 remains, throughout the discharge period, a proportion born to the discharge flow.
The construction of the compressors of fig. 4 and 5 is identical to that of the embodiment of, fig. 1 to 3, except that the variant of fig. 4 also has a second discharge orifice controlled by automatic discharge valves 17 and that in the variant of FIG. 5 the discharge orifice controlled by the lip 15 is further controlled by the automatic discharge valves 17 o ..
It will be understood that such arrangements give more leeway for constructing the compressor, since the conditions to be achieved for the distribution are less imperative and in particular the adaptation is easier to a variable discharge pressure.
The rotor may, in order to reduce leaks, have a diameter a little greater than that for which it would be tangent to the stator and be cut, in its most eccentric part, by a cylindrical surface with the same axis as the stator, of so as to leave a very small play, and this cut part may be provided with grooves 19 arranged along generatrices to improve the seal between rotor and stator.
In the variant according to FIG. 6, the construction is identical to that of the compressor of FIGS. 1 to 3, except that it also has an arrangement making it possible to vary the angular extent of the zone of the stator, limited on one side by the edge C of the pallet, where the interior of the stator communicates with the suction.
This @ d'isposifio @ n tomprenddeux lights 20 ,. and 202 formed in the part of the pa king of the chamber 2 which is swept by the zone of maximum eccentricity of the rotor after the latter has left the edge C of the pallet. These slots open into a channel 21 communicating with the suction duct 7 and are each provided with a valve 22 re pushed towards its seat by a spring 23, but which can be opened at will by the action of a cam lever. 24.
These slots could also be controlled by a shutter in the form of a cylinder part, applied against the internal wall of the channel 21 and which can be moved at will by pivoting around the axis of the stator.
Ori conceives that, when a lumen 201, 20.2 is open, the compression, instead of starting when the zone of maximum eccentricity of the rotor reaches the generator B, will start only when this same zone reaches the generator B ,, B2 corresponding to the part furthest from the generator B of the light 20 ,, 20,2 open, -which is itself the furthest away -from the generator B.
During the time when the zone of maximum eccentricity of the rotor will travel through the wall separating B from B ,, B2, the gas expelled by the rotor will indeed return to the suction through the open lumen and the channel 21.
In the case of this variant, we will arrange the. lip 15 and the discharge orifice which it controls in such a way that this orifice does not begin to open it as soon as possible until the part of the maximum eccentricity of the rotor reaches the generator B2 which is the furthest away of generator I3. Thus, in any case there will be no need to fear a short-circuit between the suction and the discharge.
