Drehkolbenmaschine.
Rotary piston machine. The present invention relates to a rotary piston machine which is suitable both for use as a power machine and as a work machine.
The rotary piston machine according to the invention is characterized in that the same has at least one piston rotor and at least one cylinder rotor arranged in the same central plane with a parallel axis of rotation to that of the piston rotor, on the circumference of which a number were arranged radially from one another at the same distance judged cylinder seated, in which the piston formed as seated on the circumference of the piston rotor balls engage when rotating past.
Such a design has the advantage that, in and of itself, relatively little moving, friction-generating parts and, in particular, no reciprocating masses are required, which means that both the friction losses and the inertia losses can be much lower than in pure piston machines which results in a correspondingly favorable degree of efficiency.
The rotary piston machine can be designed, for example, as an internal combustion engine or also as a compressor or pump. In the former case, an explosive fuel gas-air mixture can be fed to the cylinders and detonated in them, causing the piston rotor to rotate together with the cylinder rotor, and the force generated can be taken from one of the axes of rotation of the two rotors will.
When designed as a compressor, for example, the surrounding air flows into the cylinders of the cylinder rotor from the outside, is compressed in them by the balls of the piston rotor and, for example, conveyed further through the hollow shaft-shaped axis of rotation of the cylinder rotor that serves as a pressure line. Here, too, one of the two axes of rotation of the rotors is driven.
Practical tests have shown that the oil film that forms between the cylinder wall and the circumference of the sphere results in an effective seal, particularly when the two organs move at a very high rate. so that, in contrast to cylindrical pistons, no sealing rings or the like are required, which simplifies the structure and reduces friction.
Of course, malfunctions caused by crank rod or crank shaft brew are also eliminated, which results in a correspondingly increased operational reliability. Finally, with an exposed arrangement of the rotors, very effective air cooling of the cylinders and balls can also be achieved.
An embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely: Fig. 1 shows the example on the left in elevation, on the right in vertical section, FIG. on the left in plan view. on the right in a horizontal section and Fig. 3 on a larger scale, the details of the control section in a vertical part.
In Fig. 1, the front shield of the machine frame is omitted for the sake of clarity.
The Ausfüh shown in Fig.l to 3 approximately example refers to the training as a prime mover.
The machine frame has two parallel, flat shields 1, spaced apart from one another, by means of a longitudinal U-iron 2 screwed to them so that two perpendicular, lateral U-iron pieces 3 are connected to one another. Between these shields I, a central cylinder rotor Z and a spherical piston rotor K each in a symmetrical arrangement are mounted at the same height and center plane with parallel axes of rotation.
Each spherical piston rotor has a blade 4, which is placed on the frustoconical middle part of a rotational axis 6 mounted in bearings 5 of the two shields 1 by means of a longitudinal wedge and adjusting ring 7 in a rotationally fixed and axially immovable manner. On the circumference of the disk 4, six balls 8 serving as rotary pistons are fastened by means of bolts 9 at a uniform distance from one another.
The screw bolts 9 secured by transverse split pins are designed to be double-conical between the ball and the thread in order to ensure a stable seat for the pistons. Both Kugellzolbciirotoren h are formed exactly the same and only the axis of rotation of one. In the example shown on the right side: igen is extended beyond the rear layer 5.
The piston rotors lying in the central plane of the two ball cylinder rotor Z has a bell-shaped disc 10, on the front side of which is mounted in a bearing 1 2 of the front shield 1 axis of rotation 11, which serves as an output shaft. The disk 10 has hemispherical cavities 13 arranged at equal distances from one another on the circumference, and above each cavity a ring 14, provided with cooling ribs and serving as a cylinder, is screwed into the disk 10 centrally to the cavity.
The balls 8 are ground into these radially directed cylinders 14 with a running fit. and the distance between the axes of rotation of the spherical piston rotors and that of the cylinder rotor is such that each ball enters the cylinder interacting with it so far that there is still a free space between the circumference of the ball and the hemispherical cylinder base at the end of the stroke, its height determines the degree of compression achieved.
The disc 10 rotates on an inside attached to the rear shield 1, acting as a fixed round slide sleeve 15. In this round slide 15 rotates a rotary valve 16 closed at the front end, on the rear end of the sen by means of Sehraubflansches 18 a hollow shaft 17 is attached. which serves to supply an explosive fuel gas / air mixture.
A spur gear 20 is attached to the hollow shaft 17, which meshes with a spur gear 19 which is three times larger and which is wedged on the axis of rotation 6 of the right-hand spherical piston rotor r.
The rotary valve 16 rotates accordingly in the same direction as the cylinder rotor Z, but at three times greater speed than this.
At the front .Stirnseite of the disc 10 at the bottom of the cavities 13 tapering spark plugs 21 (Fix. 1) are used, wel chen the ignition current from a seated on the drive shaft 11 distributor 22 is led to.
The control of the machine can be seen in FIG. An inlet slot 10s is located under each cylinder cavity 13. The Eundschieber 15 and the rotary valve 16 each have two diametrically opposite slots 15s respectively. 16s. While the control in Fig. 1 is drawn in the filling position, FIG. 3 shows a piston 8 at the end of the compression stroke, that is to say at the moment shortly before the ignition occurs, that is to say with the inlet closed. This position always occurs simultaneously with two diametrically opposed Zy relieve, which act as a two-stroke engine.
The operation of the engine described is as follows: The operating mixture flows through the hollow shaft 17 into the interior of the rotary valve 16. Assuming that the three Ro gates K, Z and K are now in the position shown in Fig. 1, in which the slots 15s and 16s and the slots 10s of two diametrically opposed cylinders are aligned one above the other for the filling, so there. ss the mixture in the lower right and upper left cylinder 14 can flow in.
In this position, the balls 8 have entered the cylinder concerned so second that they close their upper opening approximately along an equator. The rotary valve 16, which rotates three times as fast as the cylinder rotor Z, now closes the inlet after filling is complete, and as the rotors continue to rotate, the slots 10s assigned to those cylinders are immediately closed, so that now the compression in the two cylinders begins. This compression goes on until the balls 8 have reached their stroke end in their cylinders as shown in FIG. 3 by continuing to turn both rotors.
Ignition must now take place; however, the same is practically moved by a few degrees over the center X-ä so that the explosion does not affect the axis of rotation 6 in a centric and therefore strong Zap pressure. As the rotation continues, the two cylinders are flushed and are ready to accept a new charge. So two cylinders always deliver a drive pulse for the shaft 11 at the same time, and each cylinder results in two explosions per full revolution of the cylinder rotor Z, so that each revolution of the cylinder rotor delivers six drive pulses. This ensures a very uniform rotary movement.
Cooling and flushing of the cylinders are very effective, and the lubrication of the cylinders and pistons can also be accomplished very easily by supplying the lubricating oil through the axes of rotation 6 under pressure and then flowing through radial channels under the influence of the centrifugal force of the balls 8, which are seen ver on their inner half with corresponding outlet openings.
In cases where a free exit of exhaust gases is undesirable, the machine frame can be completely closed by a casing 23 (Fix. 1) and provided with a discharge pipe 24 for the exhaust gases, with cooling air through lower openings 25 of the S. 'ehilde 1 would be blown in.
Of course, any number of such units with common axes of rotation can be arranged one behind the other, advantageously with balls and cylinders offset from one another in the circumferential direction.
As can be seen from the drawing, the outer edges of the cylinders are turned off concentrically to the circumference of the cylinder disk, on the one hand to achieve good lateral guidance of the balls before they completely enter the Z-cylinder and, on the other hand, to abut the Z @ : to prevent liner edges on the ball bolts 9.
Instead of the piston rotors as mentioned, the lubrication could also take place through the small rotors into the cylinders, or in both ways at the same time.
