Shock-absorbing bearing for the balance shaft of timepieces. The subject of the invention is a shock absorber bearing for the balance axis of timepieces, for example for the balance axis of a watch movement or other portable timepiece -of small format.
This bearing is of the type of those comprising a bearing mounted in a cylindrical bearing holder and: in a hole of which a pivot of the balance axis is fitted, said bearing holder being disposed in a cylindrical recess of a body - fixed bearing providing passage to the balance axis.
The invention relates mainly to the arrangement of the pad holder which has the feature that it is provided, on its periphery, with flexible claws, for example three or a greater number of tabs, the end of which extends up to 'at the bottom of said recess and by said end of which it is secured to the body of the bearing, of which at least part of the bore is larger than the diameter of the bearing holder, in such a way as the main part:
of the latter can move transversely in its housing and react elastically against the radial shocks to damp them and avoid them as much as possible .the harmful repercussion on the pivot of the axis @de balance.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention, in this case, a front bearing (bridge side) of a balance shaft for slack. watch. It is understood that on the opposite side (plate), the axis will also be supported by a shock-absorbing bearing identical or similar to that forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a section along a plane passing through the balance axis and through one of the claws, while FIG. 2 is an orthogonal projection of the lower part of the bearing, located below, of the line II-II of FIG. 1.
In the drawing, we can see the axis -de ba lancer 3 with a tigeron 4 and its pivot 5, the end of which is fitted in the hole of a pad 6 (ruby, sapphire, etc.). The latter is driven into an annular bearing 7 disposed in a cylindrical recess 8 'of a bearing body 8 formed by a washer driven into a round opening 9 of the board 10 of the cock. The bearing body 8 delivers pitch to the axis 3, through a central opening 11 of which.
the bore is larger than the diameter of shank 4 of axis 3.
On the plate 10 of the cock is arranged and fixed a cock 12 :, in a round opening 13 which is adjusted and guided a mo bile counterpivot 14. The latter is supported by its. flat base, on the bearing 7 and is subjected to the action of a shock absorber there constantly acting on the top of the convex part of the counterpivot 14. This flat shock absorber spring is fixed either to the cockerel or to the.
board 10 of the rooster, and always tends to hold the counter-pivot 14 and the bearing 7, so that it reacts elastically against any abnormal axial displacement, from bottom to top, of the balance axis 3 , to cushion and absorb the very harmful ef due to shocks. L n ébat is provided between the bearing 6 and the counterpivot 14., on the one hand, and a bearing surface of the axis 3 and the bearing body 8, on the other hand.
The counter-pivot could also be provided with a shock-absorber spring, the shape, arrangement and method of attachment of which could also be different.
The annular pad holder 7 has on its perimeter at least three flexible claws 7 '(five in the example shown), regularly distributed over the entire periphery of said or gane and each of which is formed by a lanyard coming from manufacture with the pad holder body and extending. towards the bottom of the recess 8 ', parallel to the axis of the beam 3.
This bearing holder is attached, removably, to the bearing body 8, by means of its claws 7 'which, concentric with the axis 3, cling, by their end and by pressure, to an internal annular projection 16 of the recess 8 'of said bearing body.
The upper part of the recess 8 'having a larger bore than the total diameter of the bearing holder, the latter has a certain clearance in this recess which, in its main part, allows transverse movement in all directions. and to react elastically, thanks to the claws 7 ', against any abnormal radial force due to harmful impacts,
to cushion and absorb it, in order to prevent as much as possible the breakage or deformation of the relatively fragile pivot 5.
The cockerel 12 has a small circular clearance 17 below, giving the pad holder a certain frolic. high and giving it the possibility of lifting itself slightly in the recess 8 ', against the counter-pivot, without however the ends of its claws being able to come fully free from the projection 16.
The claws of the bearing holder 7 could be secured to the bearing body 8, by their end, either removably or permanently, for example by crimping, by welding, or even more simply, by an adjustment comprising a circular groove, formed in the bottom of the recess 8 ', provided that the main part of the pad holder can move transversely -in its housing thanks to the elasticity of the claws.
When the bearing is intended to support the rear pivot (plate side) of the balance axis, the elements 10 and 12 are constituted respectively by the frame plate and a counterpivot carrier plate.
