Gas turbine plant with a forward and a reverse turbine. The invention relates to a gas turbine anl.a, ge with at least one forward and at least one reverse turbine, in particular for propelling ships.
The characterization of the invention consists in that the reverse turbine is switched on in the propellant gas flow in such a way that its outlet pressure is higher than atmospheric pressure, and devices are provided with the aid of which during the non-impact of the reverse turbine in its housing a Working pressure reduced pressure is maintained. Through the invention, ventilation losses of the reverse turbine are reduced when running forward.
The reverse turbine is expediently in a cycle of propellant gases respectively. the propellant air switched on, .der has a pressure that is higher than atmospheric pressure. A gas turbine system according to the invention can have a low pressure turbine, which is used to drive the compressor for the combustion air, and also have at least two high pressure turbines, one of which does the useful work when running forward and the other when running backward.
The reverse turbine may have a device with which it is heated when not admitted during the forward run. Furthermore, the .Anlage can be provided with a control device, by means of which when switching from forward to reverse or vice versa, the sum of the flow cross-sections for the propellant gases flowing to the turbines respectively.
Driving air can be limited. .Finally, a safety device that controls the fuel supply or the propellant throughput vermin changed, provided if an impermissibly high speed of the turbine occurs.
Two examples of the subject matter of the invention are in the drawing in FIGS. 1 and 2 in a simplified manner for illustration.
By a compressor -1 (Fig.1 and 2) air is compressed, which is brought in a heating device 2 He to high temperature. The highly heated air respectively. the highly heated gases are used to drive a forward turbine 3 and a backward turbine 4, which drive the screw 6 of a ship via a transmission 5. A starter motor 7 is used to start up the system.
According to the invention, the reverse turbine 4 is respectively in the propellant gas flow. switched into the motive air flow that their outlet pressure is higher than atmospheric pressure. In addition, an organ 8 is present, with the help of which a pressure reduced compared to the working pressure is maintained in the housing during the non-loading of the reverse turbine. This makes it possible to reduce the size of the reverse turbine, because it is switched to a high pressure level, and at the same time to reduce ventilation losses when idling at a reduced pressure.
In the gas turbine system shown in Fig. 1, the ver compressed air by the compressor 1 is used to burn the fuel fed to the burner 11 through line 10, the amount of which can be adjusted by a valve 12 according to the operating conditions present. The high-tension combustion gases can either flow through the line 13, the forward turbine 3 or flow through the line 14, the reverse turbine 4 act.
To regulate the application, control elements 15 and 16 are arranged in the lines 13 and 14, which are expediently brought into relation to one another, for example by a control device, so that the sum of the flow cross-section that they release cannot be too large and that for the Case that one is open or at least approximately open, the other is closed. With partial loads. especially during maneuvers, both organs 15 and 16 can be partially opened at the same time. The difference in the torques of the turbines 3 and 4 then acts on the screw 6.
One organ 15 can be influenced with the aid of a manually operated lever 17 and also with the aid of the pulse generator 1 $ via the lever 19 and the linkage 20. An increased pressure in the gas heater 2 causes a larger opening of the organ 15, while a lower pressure causes a smaller opening, so that an approximately constant pressure can be maintained in the combustion chamber of the gas heater.
The exhaust gases from the turbines 3 and 4 ge long through the lines 21, 22 and 23 in a double-flow turbine 24, which drives the compressor 1. The exhaust gases from the turbine 24 pass through the lines 25 to other consumption points or immediately outside.
A line 26 is connected to the exhaust gas line 22, with the aid of which the line 22 and thus the housing of the reverse turbine 4 can be closed to the free atmosphere. Finally, a closing organ 27 is also provided in the line 22.
During forward operation, the member 15 is open so that the propellant gases can flow through the forward turbine from the combustion chamber of the gas heater 2. The organs 16 and 27 are then closed, so that the reverse turbine 4 is closed on both sides from the propellant gas flow, but the organ 8 is open.
In the interior of the housing of the turbine 4 there is therefore normal atmospheric pressure, so that the ventilation losses are reduced when the turbine runs forwards in the reverse turbine. When running backwards, the organ 15 is closed. but the two organs 16 and 27 ge opens and the organ 8 is closed.
The propellant gases act on the reverse turbine 4, while the forward turbine 3 runs along empty. Of course, the forward turbine 3, like the backward turbine 4, could also be closed off on both sides from the propellant gas flow in order to connect the interior of the housing to the atmosphere with the aid of an organ not shown.
The gas turbine system according to FIG. 2 operates with an air circuit to which, with the aid of the supercharger 28, new air is added to the extent that hot air is withdrawn to heat the gas heater 2. The pre-compressed air passes through the cooler 29 into the main compressor 1 and then partly through the recuperator 30, and partly through the recuperator 31 in the heating element 32 of the gas heater 2. The highly heated air is first used to act on the turbine 33 which drives the compressor 1. The exhaust air from this turbine acts on either the forward turbine 3 or the reverse turbine 4.
After work, a larger part of the air flows back to the compressor 1 via the recuperator 30. A smaller part of the air is fed to the burner 34 of the gas heater 2 as combustion air. The resulting combustion gases apply after some of their heat has already been used in the recuperator 31, nor the exhaust gas turbine 35 and then go outside.
The connecting line 36 between the turbines 33 and 3 has a throughflow organ 37, with the aid of which the loading of the turbine 3 can be regulated. Part of the propellant air flows directly through the line 36 into the turbine 3. Another part, however, passes through the line 38 into a heating jacket 39 of the turbine 4 and only from there. In the turbine 3. As a result, the reverse turbine 4 is constantly heated during forward operation, so that it can be put into operation immediately, if necessary.
When running backwards, the organ 37 is closed, but the organ 40 in the line 41 is opened and the organ 8 is closed. In addition, the element 42 in the line 43 is also open, so that the propellant air can now pass through the reverse turbine 4;
Since, as a result of the charging of the air circuit through the compressor 28, the whole circuit is under a pressure that is significantly higher than atmospheric pressure and vice versa, the backward turbine 4 is connected to the atmosphere after the circuit through the organs 40 and 42 through the organ 8 can, the reverse turbine 4 runs when running forwards under a pressure that is lower than the operating pressure, so that the ventilation losses are correspondingly reduced.
Of course, the turbine 3, similar to the turbine 4, could be completely closed off from the circuit by suitable organs in reverse operation and connected to the atmosphere by another organ so that their ventilation losses can also be reduced when idling during reverse operation.
