So,
Pressure-resistant hollow metal body and process for its manufacture. The invention relates to a pressure-resistant metal body with a circumferential surface curved in several directions and a method for its creation: by expanding a pipe. The hollow bodies according to the invention are particularly suitable for receiving highly compressed gases if they are appropriately designed.
In order to produce the hollow bodies according to the invention, the tube is heated by an electric current to such an extent that the metal parts can be displaced against one another and by elastic pressure acting from the inside using a combination of measures that have already been used individually for similar purposes :
by simultaneous upsetting by mechanical pressure acting axially, the displacement of the metal. particles are regulated in such a way that the wall of the new hollow body that is created has a distribution of the Metadle8 corresponding to the intended use.
The displacement can be regulated: by: the gradation of the axial pressure and the elastic pressure so that the newly formed hollow body with circumferential surface curved in several directions: the same wall thickness as the pipe before it was widened or has a previously determined thinner or greater wall thickness.
Thanks to the (per se known) heating of the metal hollow body by the electric current, the high plasticity of the metalless, which enables the mutual displacement of the metal particles, can be maintained until the deformation is complete.
This type of heating also makes it possible to carry out an additional heat treatment of the expanded metal hollow body. If, for example, a steel pipe is to be subjected to a subsequent heat treatment in order to achieve its maximum quality, this additional heat treatment can be carried out immediately after expansion, e.g.
B. by lowering or increasing the temperature, or both in the required alternation. The normalization of the hollow body made of steel can still be carried out in the mold, immediately after deformation.
If, for example, a spherical body is to be formed from a cylindrical tube, the procedure - # verden - is that the enlargement of space with an essentially constant surface does not occur at the expense of material expansion, but rather because of the pipe jacket being replenished which is proportional to the formation of the spherical shell. So,
For example, a cylindrical tube with a diameter of 50 mm and a length of 200 mm produces a spherical hollow body with a diameter of 100 mm. The surface remains essentially the same size, but the volume of the sphere is about 523 cm ', compared to about 392 cm' for the cylinder.
Since the surfaces remain approximately the same size, this must also apply to the _N, # Tand thicknesses; So there is practically neither a weakening nor a reinforcement of the wall, but a partial redistribution of the material particles by the supply and by the insertion or interposition of the plastic material pushed in between the parts of the output pipe to be bent, which expands will.
The pipe does not need to be compressed to the extent of the axial length of the end body. In such a case, the material is stretched by the internal pressure, but this stretching can be limited as desired by pushing the initial hollow body together.
With reference to the accompanying drawings, the invention is explained in example below.
Fig. 1 illustrates a cylindrical steel tube 1 and (in dotted lines) the spherical hollow body 2, which is obtained when the steel tube 1 heated to high temperature is compressed by axially directed pressure on both ends and at the same time inflated by a compressed gas introduced into the same becomes. You can see how the ends of the tube have come closer to one another due to the upsetting and almost the entire part of the tube between them has assumed a spherical shape. The wall thickness has remained essentially the same.
Similarly, a cylindrical tube can be transformed into a hollow body made up of several, through short. Pipe parts 4 verbun which consists of spherical bodies (Fig. 2). Here each spherical body 3 has been produced by heating, upsetting and inflating part of the pipe. The compression and upgrading can take place for each pipe part individually or for several pipe parts simultaneously, as will be described below.
Fig. 3 shows an e.llipsoid hollow body 5, which is made in the same manner as above is given from a tube, of which the end parts 6 have remained.
4 shows a wheel-shaped hollow body 7 with the adjoining tubular parts B.
5 illustrates a pear-shaped hollow body 9 with adjoining pipe parts 10 which, by introducing pressurized gas into the highly heated pipe, which is closed at one end, through a pressure line 11 while simultaneously pushing the pipe ends clasping the moldings 1.2 and 13 is molded.
6 illustrates a metal body with three spherical hollow bodies 14, 15, 16 of different sizes, which are connected by parts 17 of the original tube and which carry tubular connection parts 18. So that the three spherical hollow bodies have the same compressive strength, each must have a wall thickness that depends on its diameter. The largest hollow body must, for example, have the wall thickness of the original pipe.
The middle hollow body must be formed from a piece of the pipe that is so much shorter that the tube wall is stretched accordingly and made thinner when it is expanded. The smallest hollow body is in turn formed from an even shorter piece of pipe.
Fig. 7 relates to the production of a tube with two adjacent spherical hollow bodies. The tube 19, which is closed at both ends, is encompassed by three molded parts 21, 22 and 23, which clasp it tightly, and heated in the manner described below.
At the same time, gas is pressed into the tube under high pressure through the pressure line 24 and an axial pressure is exerted on the mold halves 21 and 23, which pushes them against the mold half 22.
As a result, the tube, which is inflated to two hollow bodies, finds abutments in the closing molds 21, 22 and 23, 22, against which its heated and expanded halves can rest, and a body is created that consists of two-spherical hollow bodies - veins of the same wall thickness as that .
Tube 19 consists, which: are connected to one another by a short piece of pipe and each carry a tubular outlet piece.
However, the tube to be formed can also be pressed into a closed shape surrounding the tube from one or both sides. In such a case, for example, the mold according to FIG. 5 can be closed from the start and the tube, which is loosely displaceable therein, can be pushed into the mold from one or both sides by means of axial pressure.
A practical embodiment of the device with electrical heating of the. Tube work is shown for example in FIG.
One half 31 of a pressure-resistant spherical shape is fixedly mounted on the dimension frame 30. The other half 32 guided in sliding guides 33 can be displaced by the piston rod 34 of a piston which is driven in the storage cylinder 35 by the pressure of 01 which is conveyed from the oil pan 37 by a pressure pump 36.
The mold halves have bores for the steel pipe 8 to be formed, which is closed at one end, while pressurized gas is introduced into the pipe from the other end via the line 39. Behind the mold halves and separated from them by insulating bodies 40 lie the electrodes 41, 42, which can be attached to the pipe by clamps 43.
Current from the secondary circuit of a transformer 44 is supplied to the electrodes through lines 45 in accordance with the setting of a step selector 46.
When the tube is clamped in the electrodes and mold halves, the current is switched on. The tube, which forms a contradiction in terms, is heated by the current and when the temperature sufficient for the plasticity of the metal is reached, the oil pump 36 is set in motion,
so that the piston is driven forward in the upsetting cylinder and the mold half 32 is moved against the mold half 31 and the plastic part of the wall of the tube to be formed that is located between the two mold halves is upset.
At the same time, pressurized gas is introduced into the tube through line 39 and, as a result, it is expanded so that when the two halves of the mold are placed against each other, a hollow sphere is formed.
After stopping the current, which can take place automatically, and releasing the pressure gas and stopping the oil pump, the upper parts of the pressure can form and electrodes can be lifted from the tube and this can be lifted out of the lower mold halves and electrode halves.
In the example shown in FIG. 1, the heated part of the tube is widened to form a hollow sphere.
9, 10 and 11 show means for evenly displacing the molded parts in the production of a hollow body according to FIG. 12, which consists of three spherical hollow bodies connected by pipe parts.
Four lower halves 47, 48, 49, 50 and four upper halves 51, 5: 2, 53, 54 of the shapes complement each other to: three spherical shapes. The lower halves are coupled to one another by moving members 55, 56 in the form of Nuremberg scissors so that they are pushed against each other at the same time and evenly. apart, can be. The upper moldings are guided by a guide 57 that engages in them. The tube 58 is clamped between the end portions 47, 51 and 50, 54 of the mold by means of screws 59.
The deformation of the tube to form the hollow body shown in FIG. 12 results from the preceding description.
