Une forme d'exécution du dispositif fai sant l'objet de l'invention est représentée, à titre d'exemple, au dessin annexé, dans le quel La fig. 1 est une vue -de côté, avec arra chement, de cette forme -d'exécution; La fig. 2 en est une vue en plan;
Celle-ci ruisselle sur l'épreuve et la. lave, les traces de révélateur se mélangeant à. l'eau de lavage. Entre la, génératrice de con tact correspond à la compression maximum et la. génératrice extrême de contact, la pres sion qui s'exerce sur les surfaces spongieuses -va constamment en diminuant jusqu'à une valeur presque nulle;
Device for washing and wringing photographic prints. The present invention relates to a positive device ensuring the l-ava.ge- and the dewatering of photographic prints and which comprises, on the one hand, two drive cylinders of flexible material, applied tangentially 1 -one against the other, animated by rotational movements in opposite directions,
and sensibly superpo @ s & s above a waste tank and, on the other hand, a perforated ramp ensuring a runoff of washing water on the surface of the two cylinders,
characterized in that the surface area of each of the cylinders is made of a spongy material intended to wipe the test which passes between these two cylinders, at least one of these cylinders comprising on its periphery opposing parts to the adhesion of the tests.
An embodiment of the device forming the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which FIG. 1 is a side view, with cutaway, of this form of execution; Fig. 2 is a plan view;
The device shown consists of a frame, consisting of two flanges 1, la, joined together by spacers E and supporting the main constituent elements of the device. Each of these flanges has at its lower part a base A, A ', perforated with holes t, t' intended to allow its attachment to a suitable support, for example table.
The shape of these supports is such as to allow (fig. 1) the installation of a tank C containing a fixing bath B.
At one end of the frame is rotatably mounted a cylinder 2, immersed in the bath B and consisting of two flanges 3, 3a, spaced by cross members 4. In order to oppose the passage of photographic proofs. phiquesentre the sleepers 4, three bands 5, rubber for example, is arranged on the periphery of the cylinder.
This provision may be replaced by any other similar provision; in particular, the cylinder 2 may be solid and comprise, at its periphery, alternating projections and depressions, which may be, in particular, constituted by longitudinal or annular grooves opposing each other. adhesion of the prints to the surface of the cylinder.
The cylinder? is driven by a rotary movement, in the direction of arrow F '. thanks to a pulley 6, via a belt 7, driven by a motor M and passing, on the one hand, on two return pulleys with groove P and. on the other hand, on a pulley P ', integral with an engine driving cylinder 8.
This cylinder is provided with peripheral grooves 8a and is covered with a layer 9 of flexible spongy material, sponge rubber for example; it serves as a drive pulley for several belts 11 of small section, round in the example, which wind up on the cylinder, facing the grooves 8a and whose output strands pass through grooves 12 of an idle pulley 13 journaling in the flanges 1, 1a.
The tension of these belts is such that it causes on the periphery of the driving cylinder 8, thanks to the grooves 8a, beads 14 opposing the adhesion of the photographic prints on the driving cylinder. This cylinder is dragged by the belt 7 in the direction of arrow F2.
Substantially above cylinder 8 and applied tangentially against it. by a suitable pressure, went mad. by its axis 16 journaling in the flanges 1, the frame, a cylinder 15 covered on its periphery with a layer 17 of spongy material, spongy rubber for example.
This cylinder may also include on its periphery parts opposing the adhesion of photographic prints. The cylinder 15 is driven in the direction of the arrow F3 by the driving cylinder 8.
A ramp 18, supplied with water from the vage by a nozzle 19 and perforated at its lower part with a series of holes not shown, ensures a constant projection of washing water onto the periphery 17 of the cylinder 15.
Below the feed rollers 8 and 1 5 is placed a tank 20 intended to receive the waste water.
The operation of the device shown and described is as follows: The proofs, leaving the developer bath, are placed by hand between the driving cylinders 8 and 15; the wash water supplied by the ramp 18 is driven by the. periphery of cylinder 15 which soaks up water.
It should be noted that due to the speed of rotation of the cylinder 15, the water is eptmîne born (ssarily towards the front of the driving group and cannot run off behind the latter.
The periphery 9 of the motor cylinder is also imbibed with water and, when they come into contact, the two spongy layers behave like sponges. In other words, these surfaces, from their initial contact generator to the generator which is located in the plane determined by the axes of the cylinders 15 and 8, are subjected to a pressure which increases up to a value. their sufficient to express the water of the vage.
This flows over the test and the. washes, traces of developer mixing with. wash water. Between the, contact generator corresponds to the maximum compression and the. extreme generator of contact, the pressure exerted on the spongy surfaces constantly decreases to an almost zero value;
the spongy surface sucks in the liquid constituted by the washing water and the traces of developer and thus ensures the spinning of the test and of the driving belts 11.
The belts 11 then playing the role of conveyor bring this test substantially above the cylinder 2 (FIG. 1); the latter causes the test to fall into the bath B where it is immersed as a result of the demand for liquid produced by the rotation in the direction F 'of cylinder 2.
In the event that the test, softened by its immersion in the previous bath, adheres to the cylinder 2, it would be detached, as soon as it is immersed in the bath, as a result of the circulation of the liquid between the crosspieces 4 of the cylinder.
It should be noted that the two strands of the belts 11 have an inclination such that the liquid which could be entrained by capillary action and in spite of the spinning, cannot reach up to the top of the fixing bath and falls into the chamber. tank: waste 20.
These various: combined arrangements have the advantage of avoiding any pollution of the fixing bath by adding traces of developer to the latter and eliminating the addition of washing water, following the prior dewatering of the fixing bath. test.
