Brakes on vehicles with a handlebar such as bicycles. The purpose of the present invention is to create a brake which, compared to the known brakes on bicycles, allows a ra shear operation by the driver. According to the invention, the brake has a sleeve which is fastened to one end of the steering rod of the vehicle and in which a tubular body is mounted. This body, on which one end of the train cable of a Bowden cable engages, rests on a surface inclined to the axis of the sleeve in such a way that it moves axially about its axis during a Drehbe movement and thereby actuates the Bowden cable.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and is described in more detail.
Fig. 1 shows a piece of a handlebar of a bicycle with a brake handle arranged on it in view.
Fig. 2 shows the sleeve partly in section; Fig. 3 shows the tubular body just if partially in section, and Fig. 9 shows a section through the inserted into the sleeve body with the Bow denzug.
The cylindrical sleeve 2 is inserted into a handlebar end and secured in the sem by two projections 5 against Ver rotate. At the end located on the right in Fig. 2, the sleeve is open, while at the opposite end it has a bottom provided with a hole. In this hole fits the end of the shell of the Bowden cable 6 forming nipple 7. In the sleeve 2, a short pipe piece 1 is firmly inserted by brazing, the sen to the right end is cut off at an angle to the axis of the sleeve. Characterized a support surface inclined to the sleeve axis for the body 4 is formed in the interior of the sleeve.
This is also open at one end and cut off at the same angle as the pipe section 1 askew to its axis. At the opposite end, the body 4 also has a base in which the end of the pull cable of the Bowden cable is attached. Furthermore, a pipe section 3 of approximately the diameter of the handlebar end is fastened at this end be, on which the handle 8 is attached in a manner not shown. From Fig. 4, the position of the body 4 in relation to the sleeve 2 can be seen when the brake is released. If the handle 8 is now rotated, the body 4 moves on the inclined surface of the pipe section 1, and the brake is operated via the Bowden cable.
